Chris Leak definitely is the Starting Quarterback for the 6-0 as of Sunday #2 in the AP Poll, Florida Gators, who IF they remain Undefeated along with the Ohio Buckeyes "should" play for the NCAA National Championship. Leak was even named Player of the Game in Florida's impressive 23-10 win over LSU.

for Quarterback Chris Leak

They would be far far better IF a Freshman named Tim Tebow was not on the Team. Chris Leak will NEVER say that. Because of this Freshman Quarterback "phenom" who has already been proclaimed the Future of Gator Football for the next 3 years following this season and IF it were up to the Florida fans would have already replaced Chris Leak, because of Tebow ........

It is almost as though Leak does not exist even as he has his Glory Season. Making things that much worse for Leak ,Coach Meyer has pulled Leak out of games this season at Critical Moments in favor of Tebow which just fires up the Florida Gator fans in the stands and on Florida talk radio that much more.

It is not completely unusual for a Freshman Quarterbacks to eclipse a Starting Senior. But it is ALWAYS because the team is doing poorly and/or the Starting QB is clearly a Problem. That is not the case here. Leak is on the verge of becoming the most productive Quarterback in University of Florida history by the end of this season surpassing the "legendary " Gator QB Danny Wuerffel.

But it still doesn't matter

Leak cannot shake Tim Tebow. Even with Chris Leak #5 or #6 on all the various all unofficial Heisman Trophy Watch lists still Chris Leak cannot shake Tim Tebow. In fact because of Tebow, Leak's true Heisman prospects are being depressed both because his stature is diminished and because Tebow is playing in critical plays in which Leak could be scoring BIG Heisman points for himself.

Even Chris Leak's potential NFL career by way of the 2007 NFL Draft is clearly being diminished because he is getting a rap as "inferior" to the QB who will replace him at the University of Florida even though there is NO statistical data to support it. Besides NO matter how good Tebow may prove why should that effect the reaction of NFL teams to Leak at all ? But it does !

It is quite possible QUITE POSSIBLE Leak is only one poor performance from losing his Starting Quarterback job to Tebow. Nobody says that of course. But just as clearly Leak must play every game with that idea hanging over him.

Here's a real Nightmare Scenario

Chris Leak could lead the Gators to an Undefeated 12-0 season remaining the Starting Quarterback and still have to worry that Coach Urban Meyer might replace him with Tim Tebow or at least announce they will "share" QB responsibilities in the Big Game. In Tempe, Arizona in January.

Think that is Nonsense. Well the you clearly don't really understand the situation at the University of Florida right now. And the Hype for Tebow at Leak's expense for no Good (sic) Reason. Except One ...

That's precious, claiming that football is still racist against blacks, and that white fans favor white players over black ones. How much respect did Chris Rix get as a senior at Florida State, to name just one example out of many that could be cited.


It really is an amazing phenomenon that the more respect and prestige that blacks receive, even if contrived, the more it causes most of them to become ultra-paranoid and see "white racism" everywhere around them. It's just more evidence that pandering, and creating elaborate artificial constructs like the Caste System, will never create harmony between the races.

Great article and way past time for a Tebow thread. If it wasn't for Tebow it's unlikely Florida would have beaten Tennessee or LSU. Tebow got several first downs in the UT game that Leak was unwilling to get and he accounted for 21 of the team's 23 points against LSU. It may only be a coincidence but Leak's best record at Florida is when the freshman phenom shows up. Pre-Tebow, Leak has the worst win-loss record for a QB at Florida since before Spurrier took over.

It is ironic that Peyton Hillis and Brian Leonard, et. al. are supposed to be "team players" and willingly give up all their carries and block for others but Leak is allowed to be selfish when asked to share some minimal time with a player who is obviously more talented. Tebow is only given minimum opportunities but Leak can't stand his success or the crowd's reaction to Tebow.

A couple things from the article:
Tebow throws 2 touchdowns (he's 2 for 2 in the game) and rushes for a third and Leak got game MVP. WTF?

As far as sharing time at QB, Georgia tried that during David Greene's career there. DJ Shockley played an identical role as Tebow (although not nearly as successful) to Greene who was SEC's winningest QB ever.

In fact, splitting time arguably cost Georgia a national championship. One year with Georgia controlling the game against Florida, Richt inserted Shockley into the game and he threw an interception that led to a UF touchdown and cost Georgia the game, their only loss of the season. A thread on Tebow has been way overdue. He is the best running QB in college football. It's funny how blackathlete.com suddenly wants to suppress an athletic running QB - how ironic. Tebow is such a powerful runner I'm sure that he would be an outstanding RB if he were given a chance. It's almost as if by playing Tebow at quarterback Florida has an excuse to let him run the ball being that it's frowned upon to actually hand the ball off to a "white boy". In the future it will be interesting to see if the NFL will give Tebow the Eric Crouch treatment or the Michael Vick treatment.

Oh, we're not fools. We know white and black players don't receive the same treatment. But while there are tons of black QB's in college football, there are very few white RB's and CB's, and zero white RB's and CB's in the NFL. Oh, but wait, I forgot, when blacks fail it's due to racism, but when whites fail, it's always because blacks are better. My bad, I forgot that blacks are superior. Tim Tebow was VERY impressive versus LSU! He ran over All American safety LaRon Landry and another would-be tackler. Tebow threw two TD passes ad ran for another against an LSU defense that is rated one of the best in college football.

The real question is why Tim Tebow should have to share reps at QB with Chris Leak.

I haven't seen Tebow play yet, but I did just catch a highlight of his nice touchdown run, after which Craig James called Tebow a "courageous runner." This stereotype brought to us by the NFL's last white thousand yard rusher.

Tebow had 3 carries for 19 yards and a touchdown. Leak was 9/17 for 108 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He also had a costly fumble in the 4th with UF about to take the lead. Also, on UF's last play the ball was lateraled to Leak who didn't want any part of that. He mishandled the pitch and it was returned for a score. Leak accounted for 1 score and three turnovers while Tebow accounted for 1 score in a handful of plays.

Now that the honeymoon is over it will be interesting to see if Leak continues to accept Tebow's role or if he begins to question the coach publicly about hurting his [Leak's] chance at some UF passing records.

I believe that Tebow will prove to be the best QB in the country next year. He can run, he is smart, has good size, a strong arm, confidence in himself, and leadership qualities. As an added bonus, for all the ladies in the house; he is good looking.

Leak is a good Quarterback and I would like to see him continue as Flordia's starter. Remember, Tebow is just a freshman. I would hate to see Tebow take the wheel here as he is only 19 years old.

The only regrett I have here is in that Tebow does not play for a more white friendly team. He surely could lead a team like Penn State to a championship.

I have never been particularly impressed with Chris Leak. As a four year starter he should break some records - big deal. Florida has fell off the college football map during that span until Tim Tebow ignited the team this year. In my opinion Tebow should have replaced Leak a game ago - they would still be in contention for a national title.

Anybody else notice that Tebow seemed to have less playing time this week than any other week? Could his reduced roll be the result of the recent whining by Leak worshipers? I think so. The game isn't about winning anymore it's about perserving a the closely coveted caste system even if that cost you a national title.

Probably so. The critical play was 3rd and 2 inside the
Auburn 20. Tebow just gained two yards on a 2nd and 4 and was taken out of the game. Usually Tebow gets all the short yardage plays inside the red zone but with Leak on the sideline scowling, Urban put him back in for a pass play. Fumble there and interception on Leak's next play = game over.

Can't wait for the excuses about Leak not getting enough attempts or a chance to get into a rhythm to start.

Gotta disagree. Leak started as a freshmen. Clearly Tebow gives them the best chance to win. A national title doesn't come around often and now it just passed Florida by.

This article was written by a racist idiot but of course we all know that. Of ALL the things blacks don't have room to bellyache about it's racism in football. They ALWAYS get the benefit of the doubt whether it's recruiting, admissions, or playing time.

However, I'd like to point out something that hasn't been mentioned. The UF program is bigger than Leak or Tebow. Next year Urban Meyer will have a QB who has been in every game in pressure situations. That is EXACTLY how you do it if you're a smart coach looking ahead. It's not about Leak getting the Heisman, he's not going to get it anyway. It's about having a QB step in next year who's been in big games and knows what it's like.

Bobby Petrino did the same thing during Brian Brohm's first year and it worked well. We didn't hear anything about it because both of the Louisville QB's were white.
