Was the title of the back page (paid ad) of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution sports section today. I can't find an online copy of it, but it highlighted 13 athletes from the 12 SEC schools. Of the 13, just 6 were White, 2 women (Barbara Mack Harding and Martha Parker Hester) and 4 men (Andy Owens, Jim McDonald, Bailey Howell, and Heath Shuler). Of the blacks mentioned, 2 of them were the first black basketball players in their school's history. Not to be outdone, New Miss named 2 black sisters as exemplars of character. I guess it could have been a lot worse, considering this was the SEC, but it was still pathetic to read through.

This same piece of paper also listed the 2011 SEC Men's basketball community service team, composed of 8 blacks and 4 Whites (Brandon Bolen, Joe Duffy, Chandler Parsons, and Connor Nolte).
