good lord. terrible!

Robben looked like he was open again on a counter attack in added time, but Elia sprayed the ball so far off target even Robben couldn't track it down. why the hell is Elia even on the team, much less getting playing time?

he has done nothing except screw up all tourney long.

Well, we're in stoppage time, at 0-0, heading for extra time. Both sides have had their chances this match. Robben has been looking good in the match today.

at the end of regulation, we're still knotted up at 0-0. coming up, two 15-minute periods, and if it's still tied at the end of that, on to penalty kicks.

while i've a few moments, i wanted to comment on Sneijder. he hasn't been nearly as dominant in this game as he has been in earlier matches. it seems that Spain's game plan is to try and keep the ball away from him as much as possible and make someone else create for Holland. so far, it's working ... if just barely. Sneijder's still found a streaking Robben a couple of times, and Spain barely escaped.

on the other side, Xavi really needs to step up. he's been quiet since the early moments of the game. he's not playing to his normally high level.

Stekelenburg with a beautiful save! Spain looked wonderful on that attack, but Netherlands were just as swiftly on the counter, and Robben draws a corner.

oh! the header goes high.

Spain are really exposing themselves now as they try to find the game-winner, especially with Robben playing so well. i am excited watching the furious attacks of La Roja, but they must be vigilant against the counter attack.

and again Netherlands escapes! Iniesta is playing sparkling football in this first period of bonus time.

Great defense by Van Bonckhorst there on Spain.

Also, great save by Stekelenberg on the Spanish breakaway before.

man, this is a tense game.

ha! Ramos makes Elia look like a little league player. Elia tried to do all this fancy dribbling, and Ramos justtook the ball away. like candy from a baby.

The Netherlands is looking very dark now. I think they had 5 nonwhites on the field at once.

David Villa won't win the Golden Boot; he has been subbed out for Torres. now that is strange, to me, unless Villa is simply out of gas.

oh dear! what a mistake by Holland!

Heittinga gets the Red card. he was beaten by Xavi's pass, and he had to foul Iniesta who had beaten the Dutch trap.

the free kick comes from just outside the box ... and the chance goes wasting for Spain. however, the Netherlands are a man down.

and now it's Van Der Wiel (mulatto) who gets the Yellow, and it's Iniesta who again is the man who does the damage. he is my man of the match if Spain go on to win.

Stekelenburg punches it well away. he's looked very calm under pressure tonight.

Robben should've been given the Yellow there ... but the referree keeps his card in his pocket. what a lucky break for the Dutch.

and the Yellow cards fly! Mathijsen has lost his composure and drawn a Yellow. he's fortunate to not have drawn a Red. Iniesta draws a Yellow for removing his shirt. how many Yellow cards is that now?
Iniesta has played great, and it is only fitting that he scores the goal to put La Roja Furia up 1-0. wow!
