I think Oklahoma State did a great job recruiting. WR, Blake Webb is very explosive and OS is known for producing big time wide outs. I did not know about wr, Austin Hays but he has 4.4 speed also. Caleb Muncrief is explosive and should stay at rb.
Purdue on the other hand scares me because BJ Knauf is clearly a very shifty, powerful explosive rb. He shouldint be a slot receiver. Purdue was going to offer rb Dalton Crossan but only if he moved to the slot. This is the same team that played Dierking recently and he is not anywhere near in the class of Crossan or Knauf. Its sad to see coaches blinded by the success of Wes Welker and sees every prospective white athlete as a slot receiver or safety. They did sign Danny Anthrop and this kid can fly.

Cb Dylan Muscat signed with Wyoming. It seems like Wyoming is trying hard to play whites at the skill positions. They used 2 rb/wrs in Brandon Miller and Sam Stratton and seem to recruit a lot of fast defensive backs and have always played many white wr's in the past. Wyoming offered a scholarship to Gavin MCHenry so they seem to be going after white players on purpose. They had Chris Prosinski last year and now have another white db with 4.3 speed back for his senior season. The name escapes me but I think its Luke Anderson from Texas.

Miami of Ohio also signed anothr white rb from Michigan in Spencer McInnis. Coach Treadwell describes Snowball and McInnis as fast yet North-South runners which is Caste Speak for having tight hips and not being elusive. Yeah right!
The name of the Akron rb is Connor Hundley. I still can't find much about him.

Found three more white WR's who have signed, Gavin Mchenry to Air Force, Travis Talianko to San Jose State and Brett Bartolone to Wash St. We are up to 47.

dwid, I have to agree with Twentytwo as far as my area is concerned. I have been to camps and combines from Atlanta, up to here in the Carolinas. You still see white kids in the linemen and QB areas of the combines and camps, but where I'm at in the skill positions, you will see generally one maybe two white kids in the RB/WR out of anywhere from 40-50 kids!

I'm not exactly sure where the white skill position (RB/WR) are at these combines and camps? There is probably more than one reason, but I would say around here atleast, most of the white kids that posess any kind of speed are playing soccer and baseball.

I've been saying this since becoming a CF poster: Go to an AAU/USA track meet, 90% of the participants are black. Go to a "Showcase Baseball Tournament", 95% of the players are white!

There is some major white athletic talent in these baseball tournaments. For the serious baseball player, it has become a year-round sport and they feel this is their way to college.

A local kid here was a soccer player, but kicked for the football team. I saw him run in a conference 100m final, where he finshed third in the finals against some really fast blacks who were AAU sprinters, but after high school track, which is a joke, he went back to spring/summer soccer, instead of running serious track. I have no doubt had this kid had some serious sprint training, he would have won.

I know this doesn't explain everything, but I believe these are some things that contribute to a low turnout among whites in the skill positions.

For me, I would tell a kid with talent to pick one football/baseball. If he picks football, then forget baseball and find a good AAU/USA track coach and train for speed during the spring/summer to prepare for football.
Other sports might be taking some of our top speed athletes, but if you look hard enough, there are still plenty playing football.

The question is, how are these black kids getting the money to drive to these combines and camps? One kid I talked to that looked real fast as a wide receiver...he didn't have a way to get to Baton Rouge, LA. His parents didn't want to take him. He quoted his parents and it was the typical bs that doesn't apply to Whites "you don't need to go out there, if you have the talent they will find you".

The ones I have been to, a great deal of the Whites, regardless of position, are from around the area. Underclassman had 2 last year. One was in Baton Rouge which has a large "urban" population. One of top guys was a "tight end" who ran a legit 4.6 at 6'3 220. Another one I attended in Lafayette, one of the top guys was a White receiver who ran a 4.46, the school he played at is right outside of town. The tight end got an offer....from ULM, the 4.46 kid, can't find anything on him. The fastest kid and overall combine mvp for the Lafayette one was a White kid and from Lafayette, ran a 4.43. Last time I checked Rice was really interested in him and one of their top targets. Jonathan Juneau, also had like a 36 inch vert with over a 10 broad at 5'10 202 pound rb/s. Can't find an update. I know he had interest from a few other places.

Under Armour held in New Orleans last year was a little more diverse with where people were from and had a good deal of White skill position players, it sold out quick though, a good deal of the top performers (overall, they go by some formula, not just 40) were White.

I think a big problem is a lot of our skill position players just aren't going to these things for whatever reason. Would we know anything about the tight end who ran a 4.6 if he didn't live right next to Baton Rouge? he didn't have impressive stats, in a a system that passed like 8 times a game and they rarely looked his way.

UCF got a "gem" in Luke Adams, a defensive end: http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrec...dams-119152;_ylt=Ah5iuqPe4p03nwhJNhTDaBBIPZB4

(DT) Joey Hunt -- TCU, should make an impact in a few years.
(DT) Caleb Gulledge -- Alabama, could be a new Nick Gentry.
(DT) Greg Kuhar -- Northwestern

(LB) Luke Roberts -- Ohio State
(OL) Joey O'Connor -- Ohio State, compared to Jon Stinchcomb.
(OL) Robert Conyers -- Ole Miss, 6-5 277 pounds and from Miami.
(OL) Shane Callahan -- Auburn, compared to Michael Roos. Those are big shoes to fill!

dwid, good find on the Juneau kid! I can't find anything on him about signing anywhere either? Under Armour had him at 5'8 185 and his measureables were great, 4.54, 40. 23 reps with 185lb. BP.

Can someone on CF find something out about him. Jonathan Juneau. dwid, let me know if you find anything else on Juneau.

On another note, Dalton Crossan N.Y., one of the quickest kids I've ever seen had offers from Syracuse and Purdue, turned down the two D-1 schools for FCS New Hampshire!

CF, keep an eye on this one! Dalton Crossan(New Hampshire)!

I'm not sure how transfers from Canada work, but super-athlete Trent Corney (who I posted about here) has signed a LOI to play for Virginia. He wasn't mentioned in their signing class because he won't be joining the team until January of 2013, although he's a senior this year. Hopefully that situation will clarified soon. But congrats to Trent and Virginia.

white defensive back, according to the thread in which I started, I first made mention about Dalton Crossan on post #18. I could be wrong, because I have this slight learning disability, but then later on post #'s 35 & #51, you mentioned Crossan getting a look from Pudue. On my post #57, I was simply re-enforcing the news about Crossan, because if other CF members hadn't read through all the recruiting posts, they should remember him.

Also, I don't see where you posted anything on the Jonathan Juneau kid. If you have, please accept my apologies.

Wisconsin RB Joe Schobert has signed with North Dakota as a walk-on. It looks like he will be making the position change to outside linebacker. Another RB North Dakota has signed is a speedster by the name of Kodee Varner.

UND has received a commitment from RB Kodee Varner of Baker, Montana. Varner, 6′-0″ 165lbs, was an All State RB for the Spartans this past season, amassing 1,760 yards and averaging 8 yds/carry. Varner is also the defending Class B champion in the 100 meter dash for the state of Montana.
Varner appears to be cut out of the Jer Garman mold. A guy you can get the ball to in space and try to allow them to beat the defender with their speed/athleticism. He will provide depth at the RB position and could possibly return kicks.

Ahh, thanks for posting this. I was looking for where he went the other day but couldn't find anything.

Also, Colorado signed that black recruit that sent out that controversial "tweet" a few days ago, saying that "everybody deserves a second chance" (apparently, 85% of the respondents to a poll on the Denver Post agreed.)

I'm all for everybody deserving a second chance (depending upon the nature of the offense), but I wonder what would've happened if some White kid from the suburbs or some rural area had said something similar. Would he be given a second chance? I think we all know the answer to that question. First off, he could say "goodbye" to ever playing football again, even as a walk-on, or, he would be forced to take beginning, intermediate, and advanced "diversity" training and grovel profusely, just for starters, to ever have a chance to play again, even as a walk-on.

Depending on the recruiting service his measurables vary...Juneau was fast enough to run 80 yards on arguably the state's top defense....Ole Miss made an inquiry on him; probably due to their coal-black defense being torched for 127 yds rushing by walk-on 4th string tailback Hunter Lee from LaTech just a few weeks earlier...but STILL NO OFFERS?? He says he "Can't understand WHY?not even UL-L or McNeese"?? I'm sure we can give him the reason....and his high-ankle sprain earlier in the season is not it.

Jon Juneau has all the credentials and is simply waiting for offers to arrive. Last Friday, the 5-foot-11, 200-pound senior showed what he's made of versus Karr, breaking free for an 80-yard TD run against arguably the best defensive line in Louisiana. Over the summer, Juneau was named Overall MVP at the Lafayette National Underclassmen Combine after a sizzling performance. Go inside for more.
"I visited Ole Miss recently and loved it," said Jon Juneau. "A lot of schools are talking to me but won't pull the trigger. Ole Miss is constantly calling me. Even LSU has contacted me, although I don't see anything happening with them.
"I'm hearing from UL, McNeese State, Auburn...I don't understand why no one will pull the trigger with an offer. I get all these letters and calls but wonder if they mean anything."
The Edna Karr Cougars know about Juneau.
Last week, Karr held off St. Thomas More despite the efforts of Juneau (5-11, 200), who almost single-handedly lifted his team to victory. During the Karr/STM quarterfinal shootout, Juneau burst up the middle for an 80-yard TD run vs. a star-studded Karr defense that is loaded with future college players. Moreover, with less than a minute remaining

I just wanted to update the wr count. Amazingly my count is 56 scholarship offers if you count Adam Bungum going to Army as well as Hayden Jones who has not signed yet.
Also a guy I have never heard of , Grant Harsbarger has signed with W. Michigan with super athlete Daniel Braveman. UAB also signed a guy named Nick Parotta but I also know nothing of him.
For some reason a number of our guys decomitted like Elliot Faerber who signed with Illinois.
More to come as I will put some research into this.

I just wanted to update the white corner back situation. Dan Fadelli who was supposed to be offered by San Jose State was given a preferred walk on status by California. They gave Chris Conte a chance so maybe he will stick and get an early scholarship.
Gavin McHenry signed with Air Force and has assured me through Facebook that they are going to keep him there.
Garrett Furman a 5'9" corner from Michigan signed with Rice but the Rice website already has him listed as a safety.
And as before Dylan Muscat signed with Wyoming. A pitiful 4 corners down 2 from a whopping 6 last year.
On a side note, Utah State rb signee , Nick Vigil has already been moved to a lb/s position. On the good news front Austin Smaha the rb going to Northern Illinois is staying at rb.

WOW! ONLY 4 CB's out of 120 schools?? Thanks for the stat...

DB Sam Foltz 6-2" 190 4.47 will...you guessed it "walk-on" at Nebraska...he was offered by North Dakota, South Dakota St, etc...Oregon was interested as a punter...Ohio U. came on late...

Only Canadian DB on Rivals Gasper Stare 5'-10" 190 4.4's...still no word.

South Carolina signed 6 whites in a class of 25(4 O-Line/dual-threat QB/Kicker)...scanning last year's roster... no white "scholarship" players on defense(unless walk-on earned?)...this Signing Class lets it be known white defenders have gone the way of the dinosaur...

LB Brody Burkhalter signed w McNeese St may be one to watch.

Speedy Florida wide out, Hayden Jones, signed with Lehigh last week. Yikes. I don't understand what scouts don't like about him. He had 2 teamates go D 1 in Taylor Barton and Michael Ellis Marder. He was faster than both of them and looked outstanding at cb against very good competition, especially in the Orlando area.

Jonathan Juneau is with LSU now, was a preferred walk on, he had offers from other schools. Probably won't get a shot but Hester did so there is always hope.. For some reason LSU fans think he has 4.8 speed and think he needs to bulk up to play fullback.

Thanks dwid. As I previously posted Under Armour had Juneau in the 4.54 range, but there's some conflict in his size. UA had him at 5'8, 185 lbs., but his rivals page has him at 5'11, 202lbs. From what I've seen in my area UA was pretty reliable with measureable accuracy. However, as I have already posted, most of what you see on a kids rivals page is usually embellished!

Juneau's highlights are impressive, but if he's 5'8, should he have gone D-1AA, however if he is 5'11, 202lbs. and runs in the 4.5 range, maybe he should have taken another D-1 scholarship offer.

Dwid, what do you think? Is it better to take a D-1AA scholarship and try to play early or walk-on at LSU or any other D-1 school?

They used to be D2, the last couple of years they've been in the FCS..
