In my grand ole state of Virginia, we just announced the winners of over $550,000 in college money, taxpayer funded of course. Anyway, a young girl won a $36,000 dollar scholarship. Her parents just moved here last year from China and they are "struggling" to get by.

I hate to say this, but this really ticks me off. I mean, we're giving our $ away to folks who just recently came here, while our own kids get nothing.

Here is the website of winners for each grade. http://www.virginia529.com/news_home_posters2.html

If you go there, you'll see an amazing, AMAZING thing. 5 of the 13 winners have an Asian name and at least two others have foreign names too. There is one kid with a Greek sounding name, so he gets the benefit of the doubt. So, of the 13 winners, there is only two clear cut American names in the bunch. This is not right.

I've lived in many different areas of Virginia, and I feel quite safe to say Asians do not represent 5/13 of the population of our state, not even among school age children. Yet, my kids, whose parents are also "struggling", whose parents have actually paid into the freakin' system for many years, to include service in the Army, get left behind to accomodate newcomers.

Folks, I never thought I'd say this, as I am, or least used to be, a very libertarian oriented person, but whoever runs against immigration in the next election will get my vote. I could care less about any other issue, right now,(gun control is the other one). ANd I don't mean this pansy ass "illegal immigration" i mean, all immigration. Put a moratorium on it and get control of the culture. If Buchanan runs again, and I agree with him on not a whole lot, but he's got my vote.
I hope someone stands up and says enough is enough!

Congressman Tom Tancredo is the man for you. It's early, but that's who I am likely to vote for.Legal immigration wouldn't bother me so much if I saw more European immigrants coming in.

CSLewis, notice how the taxpayer-funded scholarship winner is Chinese. It's ironic how Red China has been working to undermine the U.S. dollar and our entire economy for years, yet the Globalists have been funding & enabling Red China since it's inception under Chairman Mao. I believe this is a way of getting Americans acclimated to the continuous flood of foreign encroachment in preparation for the Globalist's dream NWO!The open borders policy/erasing of the southern border via the NeoCON's SPP initiative is also part of the North American Union implementation. The Globalist Elite (CFR, Bilderberg Group, Trilateral Commission, international banking cartel, etc.) are dead-set on the total destruction of the U.S.A and our culture/traditions! It's all about setting up a socialist dystopia enforced by a Orwellian police state & governed by a very small ruling Elite! I'd strongly suggest looking at support TX Congresman Ron Paul's run for President in 08.

If Ron Paul is a Reason magazine libertarian, which I was at one time and believe him to be as well, he is an open border guy. Tell me I am wrong, but if he's for open borders, there is no way.

Tancredo sounds allright so far. He's the only guy who's actually stood up to this even BEFORE the insane illegal immigration marches. I am like you, Aragon, I can see the benefits of immigration, but at some point we've got to say the short term benefits of cheap labor, are easily offset by the costs to the culture.

White Mike, I'm in the Shenandoah Valley by way of Alexandria. Ever been out this way?

I don't know Paul's stance on legal immigration (I'm against all immigration,) but he is for border security/ opposed to illegal immigration.

CSLewis, Congressman Paul is 100% opposed to the illegal invasion & open borders. Paul would indeed be the Globalists/NWO's greatest threat and thorn in the side if he was ever elected President, and that's why they've had their "mainstream", conrolled media try to make Paul a non-entity. He's on Aaron Russo's "America : Freedom to Fascism" speaking on the ills of the current tax system. He's a pure Constitutionalist and they call him "Dr.No" because he votes against most all Government spending legislation, and is also a physician by trade. While I really like and would support Tancredo, I feel Ron Paul would be the all-around best candidate. Checkout more info on Rep.Paul, the man Alex Jones called "Founding Father material"...
