I need a single website where I can find up-to-date list of titleholders in MMA-the little promotions as well as PRIDE and UFC, to put together the most damning case possible.

I've always gone to the particular orgs site for that info.

The first thing you may have to do is define MMA. There might be too many orgs for such a list. Are you going to count Pancrase? Shooto? K-1?

I did some browsing on Google after reading your post and from the looks of it, such a list would take some time and effort to compile, and keeping it current could be a real chore.

Good luck. If you find one, share it with us here, too, will you? I'd love to see such a list myself.

King of the Cage is the most important smaller show right now, at least in this country, correct?

I have already determined that the KOTC champions are all White or Hispanic, with a great fat Polynesian at Super HW, which doesn't bother me much, since no one much asserts the inevitable athletic superiority of Hispanics or Polynesians (Yet).

Jr. Bantamweight (Flyweight) Champion (125 - 135 lb.): Manny Tapia
Bantamweight Champion (135 - 145 lb): Urijah Faber
Lightweight Champion (145 - 155 lb.): Mac Danzig
Welterweight Champion (155 - 170 lb.): Matt Stansell
Middleweight Champion (170 - 185 lb.): Joey Villasenor
Light Heavyweight Champion (185 - 205 lb.): James Lee
Heavyweight Champion (205 - 265 lb.): Tony Bonello
Super Heavyweight Champion (265 lb. and over): Eric Pele

BW Urijah Faber, a White, seems to be the most gifted fighter amongst the title-holders, and perhaps the most likely to make it into the big show, now that the UFC has revived the LW division.Edited by: White_Savage

Most already know this, but just in case anyone may have missed it, here are the PRIDE champs.

HW-Fedor Emelianenko

MW-Wanderlai Silva

WW-Dan Henderson

LW-Takanori Gomi

Two Whites, a Brazillian who may have some Black admixture but who also has rather light skin and eyes, and a Japanese, who despite being a LW might could be a credible challenger to Matt Hughes at 170lbs-something which cannot be said of any Black WW.

I wish PRIDE had even lower weight classes though. It's unfortunate that the Japanese, who are such great fans of the sport and have such a good culture, simply don't produce many lads big enough to make HWs, or even MWs.

Even Sak could reasonably have fought at 155 lbs if he'd wished, making his victories that much more impressive.

At LW and below, hopefully we'll be seeing plenty of the highly competitive and skilled Japanese.Edited by: White_Savage

Here is the list of World Extreme Cagefighting champions:

WEC World champs. in lbs. WEC about rounds it out for anything signifigant in the Americas.

135. Eddie Wineland bantamweigh

145. Urijah Faber featherweight

155. Hermes Franca lightweight

170. Mike Pyle welterweight

185. Joe Riggs middleweigh

205. Lodune Sincaid light heavyweight

heavyweight Brandon Olsen

super Heavyweight Ron Waterman

North American Champs

155lbs.Cory Cass

heavyweight Justin Eilers

These are all White or Hispanic, except for Olsen, whose race I haven't been able to determine. Hermes Franca defeated him by armbar recently though. Franca has also fought Yves Edwards to TWO split decisions, though he lost both. That these jock-sniffers EVER considered Edwards the "uncrowned LW champion" just because he's a Black who has made a few highlight reel moments is assinine.

Ron Waterman has had the honor being yet another White man to defeat Kevin Randleman. 'Roids Randleman doesn't have any defeciencies in the muscle department and no one can claim he isn't a good specimen to represent his race, yet just like other Africoids, he can't make it past the very top fighters from the other races.

BTW, what happened to Waterman? He had a good run in UFC and Pride, amassing a 13-3-2 record, and has beaten Kevin Randleman and Ricco Rodriguez. But his record shows no activity since the Rodriguez fight in 2005.

BTW, has anyone else noticed that there are more successful mullatos in MMA-Koshcheck, Fryklund, possibly Louiseau, etc-the more pure Negros?

If anyone is still interested in more stats, I've been laboriously going through Sherdog's fight finder, looking for Black fighters. There are dozens. The number of Black fighters in all levels of MMA must at least be in the triple digits. Some of them have good or undefeated records in the smaller shows. Many of them are obviously athletic. Despite this, the championship title shows in every show worth considering are resoundingly not black.

My conclusion: There is no credence at all to the claim that Blacks are not entering MMA. Many of them are competent technical fighters, with many submissions to their credit. The only reason you don't see more top-ranked Blacks in Pride and UFC, let alone holding belts, is because of more talented White, Hispanic, and Asian fighters who comprise the "cream of the crop".

Thanks for putting the time and effort into posting this, Savage.

Ron Waterman just lost by doctor stoppage a super heavyweight, fat, obese Ricco Rodriguez in a rematch. And no, it wasn't because of a lame cut on his forehead - he was getting beat down, bad. Edited by: White Shogun

I second that. Very interesting findings. It makes me a little nervous that there are so many participating, for a few could break through. But the tired old "blacks would dominate everything if only they were interested" myth needs to be debunked, and it looks like you've done that, for this sport at least.

WS: Yeah, I saw that fight. But Ricco IS a good fighter, and a slugger, even if he's gone half-crazy and turned into a walrus.

JD: The main thing we're going to have to watch out for is the shows feeding cans to half-decent black fighters in some misguided attempt to garner a more diversified viewership. Especially if the cans are TUF alums built up as supposedly great fighters.
