I know I have a big mouth and can get ornery but after two plus weeks of NCCA hoops babble I believe that the media is being fascistic when doing their constant bash white athleticism, praise black athleticism routine. The mens and womens basketball coverage has all reduced it to the black/white athletic divide. Over and over again until torture comes into the picture. In fact the media thinks they are being liberal by praising blacks but scratch the surface and there is nothing liberal about bashing the heck out of one group(in this case white athletes) and glorifying another race(in this case blacks). Sounds very much like fascism to me any way you slice it. Top it off with recent Sunday sports page in New York Times where Jere Longman basically says soccer needs the black athlete and that the rise in blacks in the sport of soccer here showcases speed and atheticism never before seen in the history of the human race. I am so pissed off lately I am personally going to write letters and get the word out. Listen to NCAA hoops telecasts and the white/black divide has never been greater in my opinion. And to think for a while I thought things were improving..No one seems to care and fans swallow the whole white inferiority notion without blinking an eyelid. Sick and tired of it all.

Sometimes it is better to watch a game on tv but listen
to the announcers on the radio.A few of them are descent.
Or you can always mute the tv.I was pleasantly suprised
to be watching ESPN Sportscenter last night and one of
the NFL Draft Experts said that Matt Jones was the
overall number one athlete in the whole draft!!We need
alot more guys like Jones running 4.37 40's to shut up
the pathetic media.Don't give up sunshine. There is a
light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.

I think you people are worrying a bit too much here.

Sunshine:::

I think every sports has its day::: When its the fifa world cup, all focus is on soccer (which is a predominantly WHITE sport) and mostcountries that play in the fifa world cup are white.........no??

And jere longman is right, soccer definitely needs more black players, look at the brazilian team for instant, an all black team that will beat the heck out of any european team (which also consists of black players) anyday.....

4.37 in 40 misfastfor "any" football player, however do you "honestly" think "matt jones" has what it takes??...be honest with yourself white lightning, matt jones has the speed, but does he have what it takes??..does he have the hand-eye-co-ordination to run through players??..does he have the courage??..does he have the will?..does he have the SKILL??....

just ask yourself those questions white lighting

Hell yes he has what it takes. He outrushed and out passed
Vick in College and will in the pros if he is allowed
to play qb.Drew Bennett used to be a qb and was moved
to receiver,he damn near led the nfl in receiveing this
year.Trust me,if Jones is moved to wide receiver,he will
be as good as Moss,or Owens within two years. It takes
time to develop if you are playing a different position.
I have seen Jones play,he has the jukes, the head &
shoulder fakes, with the blinding speed.Watch him play
and then tell me what you think?

I disagree BigLX all the teams shouldnt have black players just
for the sake of having them. The teams should be made up nationally as
they once we're. The game won't be as passionate when all the players
are imported from another country. It also goes with white players
playing for another country as well. Who wants a bunch of
immigrants who can't sing the respected countries national
anthem? The British team didnt have one single Brit on the team. Boo!!!!!!

matt jones will be a sucess story just look at other former qb who made the switch. Hines Ward, Ronald Curry, and Drew Bennett, all have made the transition becuase they learn the routes very quickly.
