Given the constraints of not being allowed to openly buck the caste system if they want to remain gainfully (and lucratively) employed, which sports media personalities bother you the least?

I can think of three that aren't too bad.

1. Troy Aikman -- He gives white players credit for good plays as readily as he does black ones. Also criticizes both white and black players when it's deserved. (A friend of mine from Texas was told by one of his friends from Dallas that when he played for the Cowboys, Aikman didn't hang around with any of his black teammates, that he was strictly a country music kind of guy.)

2. Todd Christenson -- I never minded hearing him call a game, for the same reasons as Aikman. He always seemed willing to give a white athlete credit when it was deserved. He seems to have pretty much disappeared the past couple of years though.

3. Dan Patrick -- He seems to me the least relentlessly politically correct of any of the ESPN media celebrities. I listen to his afternoon sports talk show on occasion and he usually takes the side of common sense without saying anything that will get him in trouble.

Any other nominees?

Well one that was a commentator and former player is Danny Ainge. He is always sticking up for the white athletes. He has talked in detail about how he was looked at as unathletic and how it frustrated him.In college,
Danny could touch the top of the square on the backboard!
I remember in 96 when he was a commentator for the Dunk Contest which Brent Barry won,Ainge and Reggie Theus went
back and forth about whites not being able to jump. After
Barry won,the dumb founded Theus could only say,"Well it
disproves one hell of a myth". Reggie couldn't stop laughing. Ainge is back with the Celtics now.

I've always enjoyed Doug Collins. He's actually
informative, which is a nice change of pace. I haven't
noticed him pander to blacks or unfairly criticize
whites. He and Kevin Harlan are a professional,
"non-irritating" tandem.

As far as pure irritation goes, Marv Albert and Mike
Fratello are terrible together. I guess whoever is in
charge thinks their sarcastic jabs are entertaining. I
don't.

Not a national announcer but doug dieken former browns player now play by play man and on tv show after the game, tells it how it is. Last week he said gerard warren is a waste of money and get pushed around every game and only gives 50% effort and players like this is the reason the browns are losing.
