I have seen Mitchell 3 times now and I think he has a big future ahead of him as long as he doesn't get ahead of himself because he is a bit mouthy in pre fight media talk.

Mitchell returned today after an eleven month layoff due to a hand injury to defeat Ghanaian Lanquaye Wilson by third round stoppage.

He should take it one step at a time, and let his fists do more than his lips!

From Fightnews: In a WBO lightweight eliminator, WBO #2 Kevin Mitchell (30-0, 22 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over WBO #11 Breidis Prescott (21-2, 18 KOs). Mitchell, moving up from the 130lb ranks, simply outboxed Amir Khan's lone conqueror in earning a 119-110, 118-111, 117-111.

Wow! Impressive performance by Mitchell today!

Beautiful 2nd round KO - his black opponent Mendoza was counted out.

This kid may be the best prospect in boxing along with Pirog.

Hmmm ... wonder why Mitchell and Pirog are not featured on those HBO segments about boxing's future starts. Yeah .... there must be some reason ... they are not lacking talent or an undefeated record ... but maybe they are missing some other ingredient needed to be lauded as a superstar in boxing. Hmmm ... just wish I could place the reason!

Kevin Mitchell will fight Aussie Mike Katsidis in May for the WBO Lightweight title in London. As much as I like Katsidis I have to say that Mitchells going to win this. I've been following Mitchell for about 3 or 4 years now and he never fails to impress me. He is tough, intellegent and has more than enough strength and speed to stay unbeaten for a long long time.

People here in England have already forgot that Bredis Prescott KO'd our so called 'golden boy' Amir Khan in the first round yet Mitchell beats Prescott and still gets little attention from the UK media. The media gives Khan way to much attention and I would love to see Mitchell v Khan at some point in the future (or asap) so Mitchell can show us all who the 'REAL' Briton is. Khan was quoted as saying 'If I was white I'd be a superstar by now' about 3 or 4 months ago. The quote was quietly shoved under the carpet by the media. No suprise.Edited by: Angelcynn

Mitchell is the best prospect in boxing and the hier to Calzaghe and Hatton. Like Joe and Ricky, Kevin has the wrong skin color so he will actually have to earn his fame in the ring.

May 15 will be an important day for white boxers.

Katsidis-Mitchell will be a great fight, and so will Wlodarczyk-Fragomeni.

White warriors always bring excitement!
