According to a league source, the Patriots [team stats] and free agent safety John Lynch have agreed to terms.

Despite Pats coach Bill Belichick indicating this morning that Lynch was "not under contract" with the team, it appears the snags have been worked out, and the nine-time Pro Bowler will be joining the boys in Foxboro.

NFL.com and ESPN.com are reporting that the deal is for one year and is worth $1.5 million.

Lynch will be starting in place of the injured Tank Williams. The Pats havent had a starting white safety since Shawn Mayer from PSU.

Yet another reason to wish the Pats well this season

. Their draft was terrible, but Bellichick finally made a decent offseason move.

Lynch will not be starting.
In fact, he wont be the principal sub for the starter.
that's a bizzare move from Lynch, he could start in other team..
I think he just want to win another ring.
