Joakim Noah hugs his mom

Did anyone else see the celebration of Florida. Joakim Noah ran up what looked like 100 rows of bleachers to hug his mom. Of course, Noah is the mulatto florida player whose white mom was shown more than once during the game. So it was no surprise to me when the CBS camera followed his climb up the bleachers. The problem was, it was taking Noah forever to get there so CBS cut back to the real celebration on the court but kept cutting back to Noah as he climbed up and up. Finally, Noah reached his white mom and his 30 second hug was captured on film for posterity and the CBS execs could exhale.

After seeing the Ian Johnson marraige proposal, this was no surprise and I was ready for it. CBS was sooooo predictable and it was funny to watch their determination in getting that shot.

I wonder if someone at CBS suggested to Noah to go hug his mom. I have never seen an athlete go so far to reach a loved one. Considering that I didn't see any other players following his lead I will be cynical and guess that CBS put him up to it.

I wondered the same thing, GWTJ. It was pretty obvious what they were trying to get across. Anyone in the media has an agenda and it includes making everyone in this country a darker shade of pale. If they get their way, all races will be destroyed and it will be just as Faulkner wrote in Absalom, Absalom!
