Lots of people on MMA boards hating on Forrest. Others are complaining that it seems like most white people that were rooting for Forrest were doing so because... *gasp* HE'S WHITE! Oh, the shame of it all!

I can't believe it. This big, goofy, red-headed, big eared hard working ex-cop getting this kinda hate, man. It's ridiculous. He's the poster boy for making your dreams come true through hard work and dedication.

Forrest just defeated the consensus #1 light heavy weights in the WORLD in back to back fights - Shogun and Rampage. It's hard to think of another time when one fighter defeated two #1's in a row without defending a title. Forrest deserves mad props for his achievement, regardless of what happens next.

Remember the youtube video of blacks in a Vegas sports bar going ape (pardon the pun),jumping and hollering when Rampage knocked out Chuck?

Didn't read too much condemnation for them for supporting one of their own.

Awesome post Shogun. Yes I think alot of the crowd was rooting for Forrest because he was white but they root for him for other reasons as well. He's funny, a great interview, likeable, a Rocky Balboa type story that the fans have been following along with for about the last five years or so. He deserves all the credit and acclaim in the world for what he has accomplished these last two fights. Who's next? Oh my God, if it's a superfight matchup between Liddell and Griffin. Don't know who I would root for but it would be fun to watch.

Good fight by Griffin

I don't believe ESPN even mentioned this fight on Sportscenter. Funny they showed this same Quinton f**king Jackson knocking out Liddell over and over again but when he gets his ass beat they somehow want to cover it up

It's hard to dislike Rampage on a consistent basis. He's funny, honest and usually respectful to the other fighters. He was very friendly and like a big brother to the other fighters on TUF although I thought he sucked as a coach as evidenced by how badly Forrest's guys beat his guys on the show.

Nice article. Can't understand why Rampage would let himself ballon up to 250 lbs. That's alot of weight to cut in training before a fight. It's harder to keep and defend a championship than it is to obtain it. You get fat, lazy and underestimate your competition, that's what Rampage clearly did. Obviously Rampage couldn't handle all the acclaim and attention here in the states after he beat Liddell and Henderson. He will be back though and Forrest better be ready. I'm sure he will be.

Rumors are that Rampage is out til January due to leg injury, although he insists he'll be back before that. Seems like everyone is hoping for Chuck v Forrest for the New Year's Eve show.

Rumor has it that the Rampage camp convinced Rampage that he didn't deserve to lose the fight. Rampage now has been quoted as saying that him and his trainers looked at the tape and that he may have been "robbed". Seems his camp is putting words in his mouth because he clearly didn't see a problem with Griffin's victory after the fight, he seemed disappointed, but congratulatory to Forrest after the fight. I've always like Rampage to a point, but was definitely pulling for Griffin in this fight and thought Griffin rightfully won in a close fight! Kudos to Forrest!

Sounds like Rampage is easily manipulated and I am rapidly losing respect for his coach and crew he trains with. They are acting more like his hip hop posse and a bunch of leeches than they are lugit MMA guys. He lost the fight on all three judges scorecards and a majority of the press covering the fight. How lugit are they anyway if they let Rampage balloon up to 250 lbs?

I like Rampage but he should stick to the gut instincts he had right after the fight.

It was a close but decisive victory for Griffin, who:

1. was the aggressor for %90 of the fight.

2. returned nearly every punch Jackson threw (though noticeably less powerful, Griffin probably landed 2 power shots tops whereas Jackson was throwing his legendary haymakers the whole time.)

3. landed about as many kicks, maybe more than Jackson landed punches

4. had good knees in the clinch

5. good submission attempts.

Jackson is a stand-up boxer and has a fairly well rounded technique as an mma fighter but he was a little too one dimensional to have won this fight. People that think he won are too focused on looking for him to win rather than what both the fighters are doing, which is something I'm guilty of myself once in a while.

This was a bit of a shock for me when I read it on 411 today, although I guess with the record that black athletes have it really shouldn't have come as a surprise. To use a cliche, Rampage always seemed like one of the few good ones. A guy who was more interested in competition than in being the typical negro athlete who also fancies himself as a part time thug. He was usually pretty respectful, more so atleast than most of your black NFL or NBA'ers.

"Rampage" goes on a rampage and endangers the lives of many people. This is par for the course for black athletes at some point in their careers.

His lawyers will probably sue the police department over violation of his human rights because the officer forced him at gunpoint down on really hot pavement.

Maybe he just unable to endure the humiliation of getting his butt kicked by a white man in front of millions of viewers the other day.

The reality of losing to Forrest 'Ron Howard' Griffin finally set in. He probably lost all his street cred, losing to the big-eared, goofy white former ex-cop. His homies probably won't speak to him, hell he's probably not even allowed in his old neighborhood anymore.

I have to say there is some real irony in a man nicknamed 'Rampage' going on a 'rampage.'

I am certainly not happy to see Rampage fail like this but I am not shocked in the least. It happens far too often. I blame Rampage of course for this and all his loser excuse making handlers and manager. I will be very interested to see Dana White's reaction.

Well the latest news is Dana White drove down there to post the 25,000 and bailed his ass out. There are some serious charges leveled against Rampage, this will not be a easy jam to get out of. Hit and Run and Felony Evading are serious offences.

Is that camo truck what he was driving?

He always seemed more comical than dangerous. Oh well.

Yes, the one with his picture plastered on the side of it. One wonders how he ever thought he would get away driving that thing. As I understand it, the truck was given to him by Toyo Tires as a sponsor.

Not exactly the kind of pub they were hoping for I'm guessing.

How Troubled is Rampage pt.2 - www.cagepotato.com

Earlier today, we scratched out heads over Dana White's strange take on the Quinton Jackson situation, particularly the line:

"Last night when he got out, Rampage is very religious...yeah I'm dealing with it."

WTF could that possibly mean, right? Well, according to CagePotato's anonymous insider, it could mean something really freakin' bad. Our source now tells us the following:

Rampage thinks he's God...He had a falling out with his trainer a couple of days before the first arrest. Basically he has lost his mind and is talking very religious and is saying that he is God. This is the main thing I wanted to keep hidden, but with the second arrest and Dana talking it will come out regardless. He needs some serious help. I don't know if you would call it schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or what have you, but whatever it is, basically it's become impossible to have a conversation with him. He is delusional.

Again, this is second-hand information, and the only way to make a real judgment is to have an actual conversation with Jackson himself. But the chatter is not good.
