This escapes me. Not sure why the media is linking these two guys. I know they are the #1 players in their respective sports and are hanging out but golf and tennis are two seperate sports. It really is apples and oranges. That said Sports Illustrated had two writers give different opinions on who was the best. If you go by SI covers Tiger wins in a landslide--because SI refuses to put Federer on the cover.

Do you have an article or link you can post? Who in the media is doing this? What's the angle?

Need more input.

It has been topic of discussion for a while now. Sports radio, tennis sites, ESPN and Sports Illustrated. It is usually Federer being compared to Tiger instead of the other way around----Tiger is older and has a more dominant aggressive personality than Roger--still it rankles me that golf is being brought up at all regarding Roger. There is no link--no pun intended -between the sports. Boxing has more in common with tennis than golf.
But SI is being disingenious at best by posing the question who is the best in the world Federer or Woods?
Tiger has been on 18 SI covers. Federer a grand total of 0. Anyway you slice in my mind it is the single greatest athletic snub in the history of SI.

i think the reason that they link the two is that the two of them are openly friends...

Roger just won his 50th tournament yesterday. ESPN could not honor his achievment without also posting Tiger's achievment's next to his for a meaningless comparison.

It is pitiful that Tiger can get coverage from ESPN even when they're only annoucing the winner of a tune up tournament for the U.S. Open.
