The senior fullback was one of four ESPN nominees for the AT&T All-America player of the week after setting career highs with 187 rushing yards and four touchdowns in a 44-13 win over Tulane on last Saturday.

Mooney's career day was also acknowledged by ESPN studio analyst Lou Holtz. Holtz gave Mooney one of six "helmet stickers" on the "College Football Final" on Saturday night.

Mooney received the team's Black Death award, which recognizes near-perfect play, on Monday from coach Stan Brock. He is only the second Army player in Brock's two-year tenure to receive the award

The following week he had gained a career-high 229 yards.Edited by: C Darwin

Mooney had 26 rushes for 207 yards today. Wow. I am so impressed with this kid. He should move up big time on the Div IA charts. What an incredible game!

With his performance yesturday, Mooney climbed to the #6 spot in NCAA rushing leaders. Too bad the team isn't doing to well, but what an accomplishment. Over 1,000 yards already!
