Flair has had a life long back problem. Notice how he always lands on a particular side of his back when he gets body slammed. It's a old injury he's trying to protect himself from. I do remember Brickhouse Brown and he looked the part, solid muscle. I don't remember Pork Chop Cash but I wonder if in todays pc climate if you could get away with naming a black wrestler that. I was in a computer store this afternoon and out of the corner of my eye noticed an ad on a high-def television screenpromoting an upcomingshow on one of the cable networks. I just caught the end of it. It showed some Indians and the graphic at the bottom of the screen said, "India -- Breaking Free of the Caste System."

During the 1970s, every white RB in the NFL had the term, "lacks speed" applied to him by the announcers. For example, "Cappelletti lacks speed, but catches well."
John Riggins was an exception to this, sort of. I remember once seeing him catch a short pass and go around 45 yards for a TD, blowing by the DB's. The announcers seemed surprised that Riggins was fast.

I remember watching a Michigan Wolverines football game a few years ago, they were playing Purdue and Vinny Sutherland caught a pass and absolutely blew by the UM secondary, I mean he just blasted by them for about 70 yards for a TD.
Sutherland was one of the fastest white guys I ever saw play football, no pro career of course, can't imagine why, anyway the announcers had spent the last 10 minutes praising the Michigan secondary on how fast and good they were, and several of them ended up in the NFL.
But after Vinny went flying by them they went absolutely silent, dead air for about 30 seconds, the game was at Michigan so there was no crowd noise, it was the funniest thing in the world. They had no way to deal with it, there was nothing for them to say, no sneaky speed, no deceptive speed, no high-motor effort, could explain why Sutherland was able to blow by the super athletes. They were confused and like the pussies they were they just sat silent unable to comprehend. HA HA

Trev Alberts the former Nebraska standout LB who played for the Colts was a country boy. He said that they had to teach him how to run at Nebraska. Once he caught on of course he was super swift. But the point is while blacks start concentrating on running at the age of 1 week old--approx.-- too often whites don't take running seriously enough.

Sutherland didn't help his cause bybeing charged with a couple ofDUIs and some other issues while in the NFL. Black players get several chances to redeem themselves -- all of them apparently are "great" people who chose to hang out with the "wrong crowd" -- but white athletesare not viewed so sympathetically when they screw up.
BTW, Sutherland was an all-state high school WR in the "football breeding ground" of Florida, but FSU, Miami and Florida had no interest in recruiting him.
Yeah,announcers have a real hard time giving white guys credit when they show their athleticisim.I just watched the 1989 Gator Bowl on ESPN Canada which had Georgia beating Michigan State.Led by Joe"the blow"Theissmen the announcers had absolute hard-ons for the affletes like Rodney Hampton,Keith Henderson and Andre Rison and the two black QB's but were pretty much disinterested in Blake Ezor just saying he was a thousand yard rusher and not too much more.Man, that Ezor was quick.Edited by: speedster
Appreciate the info, Don. I had always wondered why Sutherland just seemed to disappear. Heck, they should have kept him around a couple more years, as the token white troublemaker.

it has been a very frustrating day of listening to announcers, for the most part...
during the Arkansas-Kentucky game, after Crosby Tuck made a nice catch and then out ran a black defend for a 21-yard gain. of course the announcer said "he uses his deceptive speed to pull away."
the fact that Tuck is the fastest receiver on the Hogs' roster apparently is only possible because he is sneakier than a ninja.
additionally, throughout the game, the announcers have been relentlessly slobbering over the fact that Kentucky has "African Americans" for both offensive and defensive coordinators. it has been a VERY important part of this game, evidently...
also, they showcased a commercial with Ashley Judd doing the talking about "the SEC: a Story of Character" where they profiled some old black Kentucky football player. somehow him not murdering anyone is worthy of acclaim...
further media diminishment of the white athlete was when broadcasting legend Keith Jackson introduced the Washington State defense... "the defensive line is out-manned we ALL know that..." he said. i'm guessing i don't have to tell you the d-line had 3 white starters. meanwhile, the rest of the defense was filled with "playmakers" and "real good ones" despite the fact the secondary sucks donkey balls and starts THREE first-year starters that have been getting torched!
in other blatant refusal to acknowledge white athletic performance... during the highlight show i just watched during halftime showed the Ok State-Texas Tech highlight and only showed a touchdown catch by a black OSU receiver. WTF?!?! they COMPLETELY ignored Danny Amendola's performance!
also, they showed the Syracuse-Louisville highlights and DIDN"T show the 87-yard kick return for a TD by the white safety.

I read through all of these but to me the most obvious one and the one that gripes me the most is when they say about a white player "He is not athletic or has God-given talent BUT he works hard" That gives the impression that all it takes to make it to the pros is to work hard. Hey all you 90 year old one legged has beens. If you work hard you can play pro football. That is all it takes. I know it is because every white player does that. No talent but they really work hard.
And of course when a white player is about to be benched the coach always says "We need to get more athletic" which of course simply means "bring on the blacks."

I heard the old refrain again today. NBA loves this one. Black player scores but cant play defense is still called a stud, an athelete. But white player scores 25 points and gets 10 rebounds. Then is put down by saying his game is not complete, he is "soft". Lord, I hate that statement.

The truth at last --- many Whites' 6-8 to 7-0+ have that long frame with average-sized bones (speaking specifically of White physiology) that is perfectly suited for potential NBA success.
If they possess athleticism and mobility, this long and lean frame, aside from scoring, can make them into dominant rebounder's and shot blocker's.
Let's just say that the Oliver Miller/Eddie Curry frame isn't particularly athletic or mobile --- and likely won't lead to NBA stardom.
But... the talking-heads are afraid to state the obvious. To them, whoring themselves out for the overall agenda, black skin makes all blacks more "athletic" than Whites.
