ESPN special on Vince Young

The ESPN pre-game show featured a special piece on Vince Young. Young was praised for his leadership for writing a letter to his team and having it placed in everyone's locker before the start of training camp. They interviewed Fisher and a few of the players, complete with the melodramatic soft music and camera effects, who said that Young showed his leadership qualities by writing this letter to his teammates.

I'm sure the irony was lost on the people who put this fluff piece together, but Mr. Wonderlic's letter was filled with grammatical errors. A few of the players who read portions on air seemed to read at the level of grade school kids. They weren't quite forced to sound out the words, but it was close. Yes, I know, they're not paid to write letters and read out loud, but they ARE supposed to be college graduates, no?

LMAO. What's next? If he messes up a few more games they will likely say that despite he struggles throwing the ball he excels at reading defenses.

no matter how bad he plays he will be given a pass for at least 1 more season. and unfortunately he is a pretty good at scrambling so he can do just enough for everyone to cherish him...

Surely no one would suggest that Vince Young's accademic career at Texas might be a farce would they?

I think he has until about 2009 to prove himself. Unlike most white QB's who come under scrutiny in their 3rd season as a starter, Vince will undoubtedly be immune to the 3rd season rule. Black quarterbacks no matter who they are, seem to given at least another year longer than their white counterparts to develope with their team. Vince is the Golden Boy of the caste system, so you can forget about them throwing him under the bus that soon, unless someone were to come along who would make him obsolete for the cause. Vince gets at least another year making 2009 the first time he may start to hear some heat if he plays poorly. However he also has a substantial contract with Tennessee and was the third overall pick in the 2006 draft so he will get every chance to redeem himself. If he plays poorly in 09 he will get a large chunk of 2010 to try to right his ship and if he still continues to struggle they might have to pull him to save face and Vince will prolly be one of those guys like Culpepper clamoring for a trade and probably some sucker GM will want to give the guy one more chance. It was during practice, he punched his own teammate for playing too rough with his receivers. It was the same safety who was in an altercation with Lendale White last year, who spit on him. His name escapes me at the moment.

check out this gem on our man Vince from today's Colts/Titans article on yahoo sports:

"Anytime the ball's in Vince Young's hands, everyone feels like we're going to win the game," Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch said. "We were just waiting for something magical to happen."

But unlike last December, when Rob Bironas capped a similar comeback with a 60-yard field goal, the Colts collapsed around Young on fourth-and-4. That forced him to lob the ball away in the final seconds.

So there you have it gentlemen. In addition to their athletic superiority, it seems blacks shall also be depended upon for their sorcery.

Saddest part is, Vanden Bosch is white.Edited by: yanling

Vince Young is going to get all the accolades previously reserved for Michael Vick.

At least he had respectable QB stats this week. I think the Titans will do OK anytime Young stinks the place up, but if his numbers are good, it means the opposing D is giving up easy stuff.

I actually had to mute the tv today whilst watching the Colts/Titans game. The announcers were heaping so much jock-sniffing praise on Young, I was actually getting nauseated.

Dallas Clark was phenomenal today. Dropped a couple of passes which is pretty weird. Gonzales was amazing as well.

HAHAHAHA WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!

This is from the NFL power rankings.....6. Tennessee (2-1; unranked): Vince Young is quickly rising to elite status among quarterbacks.

and the amazing numbers from last game that caused this writer to believe this...... 14/22 164 yrds 2 tds 1 int........yep sounds pretty elite. those numbers are nearly identical to brady's, manning's, palmer,s or even mcnabb who regularly throw for oveer 300 yrds, 3 or 4 tds and NO ints

Losman is a much more reliable QB than Young. He gets criticized more than praised. Heck, even Peyton Manning was criticized more than Vince Young is before the Super Bowl. Finally Peyton is getting the respect he deserves.
