Matthew Hurt dropped 37 points (15-21 shooting) in yet another Duke loss. he is literally and figuratively the only bright spot for the Dukies this season, and to think all the DWFs loathe him and insisted before the season began that he should be riding the bench.

**********

Corey Kispert hit 6 threes (out of 10 attempts) last night to help Gonzaga blow out another conference foe, keeping the Bulldogs as the lone unbeaten team in the country, as Baylor was knocked off by Kansas.

We have two top 10 teams playing in just a few minutes. The 9th Ranked Iowa Hawkeyes take on the 4th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. It should be a very hard fought and contested game. Would love to
see Iowa shine on prime time today as there are only 4 ncaa baskeball games all day long. This is the big one and Iowa needs to sharpen it's game to start preparing for March Madness.

This is gonna be great. I expect Luke Garza to have a monster game but he will need alot of help for them to pull out the win. Let's go Hawkeyes! :)

Iowa playing with much better energy today! Leading 42-28 at half. Garza 15 and Wieskamp 13 leading the way scoring.

Walker Kessler has averaged 11.8 ppg in 13.6 minutes over the last 5 games! Huge piece of UNCs recent success. First 18 games only 6 minutes and 2 points per contest.

Good to see the True Freshman finishing his debut season strong.

rumor has it that Kessler is transferring after the season. the same rumors connect him with Gonzaga. time will tell if there’s any truth to these claims. regardless, he has been well and truly wasted this season by head coach, Cryin’ Roy.

That's an intriguing rumor! I like it!

Michigan won the Big Ten regular season title last night, behind the stellar play of Wagner and Dickinson. first-time-ever-at-any-level head coach Juwan Howard has been terrific, and in only his second year on the job has put together a juggernaut. it’ll be interesting to see if he continues playing (and featuring) White athletes moving forward in his career.

**********

Iowa completely blitzkrieged all-black-but-one Nebraska last night. the Hawkeyes were back to firing on all cylinders offensively, sharing the ball and hitting a barrage of threes (led by 8 from Jordan Bohannon) and finishing in the paint. they appear to have shored up their defense, as well, as they’ve finished the regular season putting in 4-5 dominant outings in a row. the Whitehawks were up 30 midway through the second half when they pulled their starters, and they had held Neblackska to a mere 36 points to that point.

I want to briefly highlight a good player on top team, that is unfortunately very Caste, Baylor’s Matthew Mayer. The rangy 6’-9” guard is athletic and stuffs the boxscore on a nightly basis in merely 15 minutes off the bench. 8.6 ppg and 3.9 rpg, which is great for how much he plays. One wonders if he could be a star player with more playing time?

sorry to hear that about Gillespie ... he’s a TERRIFIC point guard, and by all accounts an even better young man. hopefully his recovery is swift and total.

speaking of knee injuries, Iowa’s Jack Nunge tore his meniscus. thankfully, the gifted stretch four should return to full strength in time to be ready for next season. the sky is the limit of this young big man who has already overcome so much in his life. hopefully, this setback doesn’t stop him from achieving his goals.

Thats for sure! In today’s nba John Stockton and Mark Price wouldn’t even get a sniff!! Obviously not because of lack of talent.
Probably true. But, Ryan Arcidiacono, Payton Pritchard, TJ McConnell, (recently JJ Barea), have still made it. But Jimmer was blackballed; he was similar to Mark Price.

Jimmer was probably banned because he was seen as the biggest threat to the status quo. A high scoring, gunning white shooting guard that would of been among the leagues scoring leaders if allowed to play and utilized like a black player. Remember he came into the league at the same time as Curry and was a better athlete, playmaker as well as bigger than Curry. Fredette got the caste treatment while Curry gets to launch threes from wherever he wants.

Yeah your right about that. It’s just the fact that they constantly get jerked around with their minutes. They could score 20+ one night then play 17 minutes the next. Frustrating!

Jimmer got royally screwed for sure! It would have been nice to see him get the green light like curry did. Nico mannion is getting the same treatment now by that weasel Kerr, who I always like as a player with the bulls.

Iowa continues to look very good, but injuries are decimating their lineup. Joe Weiskamp went down yesterday with an ankle, knocking him out for an unknown duration. Fredrick is still clearly hampered despite being back in the starting lineup, as is Connor McCaffrey, who is playing with both ankles heavily wrapped. Jack Nunge, of course, will be out the remainder of the season with the meniscus tear.

they’re playing great, but they’re the walking wounded ...

to continue my list of unheralded but talented and productive players ...

Chandler Vaudrin, a 6-foot-7 senior point guard for Winthrop, is arguably the best player in the Big South conference and leads the best team. Vaudrin stuffs the stat sheet: over 12ppg, nearly 7rpg, and nearly 7apg. if Winthrop takes care of business in their conference tourney, he’ll get a chance to show his game on the national stage.

We will be seeing Vaudrin in the Tournament!!

#5 Iowa taking on #3 Illinois in the semifinals of the Big 10 tournament this afternoon. A big caste matchup and a measuring stick for Iowa going into March Madness.

I’m wondering if the EEOC will ban Iowa from March Madness......will Coke refuse to place advertising on their games?

It was sad to see Iowa lose today. They just didn't seem up to par but still played very hard against one of the better teams in the country. Even with a loss it will sharpen them and prepare them for the ncaa tournament.
