an all-White BYU team knocked off UCLA by 15 points last night in the Maui Invitational Tournament, using a well-balanced attack with 7 players getting over 20 minutes of game action. in fact, the Stormin’ Mormons have only one non-White player on the roster who is expected to see any significant court time this year: forward Yoeli Childs, who was suspended for 9 games by the absurd NCAA for a paperwork error involving the NBA draft.

BYU has a HUGE test tonight when they face #4 Kansas. the gym rats will be MASSIVE underdogs and aren’t expected to keep it competitive.

So BYU can't seem to find any poly basketball players, huh?

Wisconsin was knocked off by Richmond.

Nate Reuvers had 17pts and 7reb

Richmond Forward Grant Golden(6'10 245) had 16pts and 12reb! Very efficient and skilled Big Man with 1,000+pts in his career.

LOL @FootballDad. I guess The Poly Pipeline is only for Football Team. Good to hear about their Basketball Team though! I'll be tuning in to tonight.

BYU has virtually no inside game without Childs, but they do have a bunch of 6’5”-6’7” guys who can flat out shoot it. if the Stormin’ Mormons get hit from deep, who knows what might happen tonight?

BYU hung around for a good bit longer than the “experts” predicted, down only 2 at the half before wearing down. their lack of size inside proved their undoing, as they have no post presence and KU is HUGE inside.

***********

Virginia is playing right now and Gonzaga tips off at 6:00central tonight on one of the ESPN channels, for those in the mood for versatile White bigs.

Gonzaga handled business tonight against nearly-all-affletic Southern Miss, up by 32 midway through the second half before subbing in their bench guys.

Corey Kispert broke out of his 3-game shooting funk in a big way, hitting 7-8 3-pointers en route to scoring a game-high 28 (which ties his career high). the junior wing was 9-11 from the floor overall. sophomore post Filip Petrusev chipped in 16 (7-11 shooting) with 7 boards and 3 blocks. freshman forward Drew Timme added 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block. Killian Tillie didn’t play, as the team is being VERY cautious with his knee injury.

the Zags play the winner of Seton Hall-Oregon tomorrow in this early season tourney, and Tillie is expected to play.

for Southern Miss, their best player was an overachieving gym rat. 6-7 Slovenian freshman wing Artur Konontsuk had a team-high 19 points (8-12 shooting) while adding 5 rebounds, an assist, and a blocked shot with ZERO turnovers in 28 minutes. he’s a talented youngster to keep an eye on.

*************

Jay Huff, the 7-1 high flyer from Virginia scored 13 (5-8 shooting) of UVA’s 46 points tonight. the Cavaliers only scored 46, but they won by 20!!! to say their defense is stifling is a significant understatement.

#8 Gonzaga held on to win in overtime against #11 Oregon after blowing a big first half lead. the Zags were led by young post Filip Petrusev, who had perhaps his best game as a collegian, amassing a game-high 22 points (8-15 shooting) and 15 rebounds.

Corey Kispert came out hot, hitting his first 4 shots (including three 3’s), before going quiet for a long stretch and finishing with 17. but he hit two clutch 3’s late. Killian Tillie and Drew Timme each had 7 points and a handful of boards.

Oregon’s outstanding point guard, Payton Pritchard, got them back in the game, finishing with a team-high 17, though it took him 23 shots to get it. he chipped in 5 boards, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

************

Michigan knocked off #6 North Carolina in large part due to 7-footer Jon Teske, who had 10 points, and game-highs of 8 boards and 4 blocks.

the Wolverines will face Gonzaga in the championship game of the Battle for Atlantis.

************

unranked all-White Iowa is about to tip-off against #12 Texas Tech.

Iowa’s all-White starting five knocked off #12 Texas Tech tonight in a terrific defensive struggle. Tech is rightfully known for their tenacious, physical defense, but tonight Iowa beat them at their own game.

despite being severely undermanned (Iowa has lost starting stretch four Jack Nunge for the season with a torn acl, and first big off the bench freshman Patrick McCaffrey is out for an unknown period due to issues related to his long fight with cancer), the Whitehawks fought hard. Luka Garza suffered both a bloodied nose in the first half and 4 stitches in his upper lip in the second half, but it didn’t stop the big man from having a big day. he collected yet another double-double (17 points on 7-13 shooting, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks, an assist and a steal), as he makes a bid for all-conference and/or all-American accolades this year.

Joe Weiskamp (16 points on 6-12 shooting, 6 rebounds, 3 steals) and sharpshooter Jordan Bohannon (20 points, 6 assists and only 1 turnover in 33 minutes) also had strong scoring games. Connor McCaffrey had 5 points, 5 boards, 4 assists and a steal with ZERO turnovers in 25 minutes. Fredrick added 10 points to round out the starting lineup.

defensively, the Whitehawks were superb. they held Tech, who had been shooting 45% from 3-point range on the year, to 4-24 from deep. that’s about 17%! WOW!

tomorrow Iowa plays the winner of Creighton-San Diego State.

and speaking of Creighton, if you haven’t seen them play, you’re missing out on perhaps the best shooter in college basketball. Mitch Ballock is a 6-5 junior, and he can put the ball in the basket. believe it!

Thanks JC for all the updates. Some exciting things going on!

This is totally unscientific, but college basketball seems much better than last. There are a lot of quality teams in the top 25 and even some of the usual Caste Programs have a White starter. I’ll have to follow more closely, as I hope to gain back some free time soon, and post some more updates as the season progresses.

Arizona freshman sensation Nico Mannion hit the winning shot against Long Beach State last night. He finished with 16 points and 11 assists. Plays like a cross between Steve Nash and Kenny Anderson.

White friendly Gonzaga got beat by Michigan today. Petrusuv, who has been terrific so far this season ( see above posts) had a tough game shooting 4-16 from the field. I didn't see the game but I figure big Jon Teske ( 19 points) had something to do with it.

But Michigan ( undefeated) has just welcomed in freshman swing man athletic Frantz Wagner brother of Moritz and he went 4-8 with ten points. A genuine talent who was banged up but is now playing. I think he along with Duke's Matt Hurt and of course Nico Mannion of AZ are the top tier white freshman this year. I think Nico is in action late night tonight against PENN on TV. I know White Lightening is a big fan and for good reason. Nico is the total package and AZ is undefeated so far.

Mannion has what you call the it factor. A pure basketball player and because he can deliver the rock black players will be more receptive to him. A future NBA star. Still waiting for nut case Bill Walton to announce an AZ game. I imagine he will be slobbering on fellow red head Mannion. Ha.

Did someone mention my boy Nico Mannion? He led the Number #14th Ranked U of A Wildcats to another win to stay undefeated tonight.

Nico Mannion led all scorers with 24pts, 4 assists, 2 steals & 2 rebounds!

Very strange thing. Last year the young black stars at Duke had many people in the media musing about Duke being likeable for a change. Doesn't take a genius to figure out why. When Duke has mainly black teams they are likeable. When they have white players of some significance they are back to being despised. Last season with Zion and the boys they became loveable and cuddly. Imagine a Duke team that long time haters rooted for? What hypocrisy and a not so subtle display of white hatred.

While I wouldn't call this team one of their whiter outfits there still is a noticeably bigger white presence this year than last so when they were upset the other night at home the media couldn't get enough of it basking in the joy of seeing Duke humiliated.

Anyway last night Duke got back to winning. This time two of the stars were white. Freshman star Matt Hurt had his best game yet playing 33 minutes and scoring 20 points along with 8 boards. He has been coming on of late. Very encouraging. Another player coming on is sophomore Joey Baker who had 16 points off the bench on 6-7 shooting ( including 4-5 from beyond the arc) in 23 minutes of play. Baker was a highly rated high school player and is finally beginning to emerge.

Sadly live wire junior Alex O'Connell barely played. I didn't see this game but in earlier contests I have noticed his nervousness which affects his jump shot. Relax dude. Ha I should talk.

Duke lost Cassius Stanley, a black freshman who the media won't let you forget is a leaper every two seconds. He went out with what could be a severe hamstring injury that could sideline him for a while. This will likely open up more playing time since Stanley started.

You nailed it brother! So true. Noticed this for years. Grant Hill is loved. Hurley, Laettner, etc, hated. Great post!

Tennessee junior PF John Fulkerson had 17 points and around 8 boards in a win yesterday. He is averaging nearly 11 points and 5.9 rebounds a game shooting a stellar 72% from the field as a new starter this year. A very good athlete with some bounce. A younger and perhaps better version of Fulkerson is Xavier freshman PF Zach Fremmantle ( mentioned here before). He had a nifty 15 in a win yesterday.

Good news and bad news for Georgetown at the same time. They have kicked 2 of the players off the team and suspended a few others. This will give Mac McClung more freedom to be the star and
the leader. The bad news is losing these guys will make it near impossible to make the tournament. Either way I hope McClung and the rest of the team can save the season some how.

Please stop the McClung hype. He is not a star at the next level ( he isnt really a star at the NCAA level either). Not even Jason Williams 2.0, who was also a gimicky “ confused”player. Being a short white guy who can dunk well and act urban is not the only thing needed to become a star in the NBA. He isn't a point guard, just a massively undersized 2 guard, whose only skill is making flashy dunks.

Not a star. The kid broke Allen Iversons Scoring Record in High School. He almost got freshman player of the year last season. It was very close between him and Akinjo. I respectfully disagree with you. The kid can pass, shoot, dribble, hit the 3, play good defense and also is as explosive as they come. He has had so many 20 & 30 pt games already in college. Do doubt him is not smart. I love the kid. He does not come off to be as a wigger at all. In this culture currently things are different but he barely has any tattoos and looks like the local paper boy. Hope you root for him as the year continues. McClung is only a sophmore and he will be a star. It's gonna be tough though as they will double team him alot now. He will have to earn everything from here on out.

In my opinion a bit too harsh on McClung. At 6'2 top notch athlete. He needs to keep improving his 3pt shot, assists total and rebounding. He's still averaging 12.9ppg in his young career. This is perfect opportunity for him to step up and be the man for Georgetown in the absence of two starters.

The jury is still out on McClung. At worst, he’s a D-1 starting guard and human highlight reel. If he substantially improves his distance shooting and efficiency, he has a chance at the next level. It’s early, but so far this year he hasn’t shown any improvement over his freshman season. Now that they lost their point guard, it’s an opportunity for McClung to step up. We will see. I’ll be in Stillwater tomorrow night to watch him against OSU.

Duke manhandled Michigan State last night. I watched the game and a mini pattern has developed over the past few games. SG Alex O'Connell remains over anxious and was pulled early. His replacement Joey Baker continues to shoot the lights out (5-6 11 points). PF Jack White isn't a future NBA player but he is a glue player who hustles, steals the ball and blocks shots and last night hit 3 of his 4 shots.

Meanwhile star freshman Matt Hurt continues to impress. Despite foul trouble that limited his playing time Hurt had an efficient 10 points to go along with 3 blocks.

Hurt and White combined for 5 blocks last night.

Duke has the raw material to win the national championship this season and if they did that would spotlight the fact that last year's hyped up young black stars fell short in humiliating fashion. Hard to predict this early in the season but if Duke gets all their pieces together I don't see a team out there with better talent.

MY radar detector is getting better on this and I would bet Zagarowski is mixed.

Now on a subject that should juice you up White lightening on the heels of a debate above about Mac McClung's NBA chances where I think the consensus here at CF is skeptical it is worth noting Mac poured in 33 in a big win against Oklahoma State tonight. This on the heels of a huge player disruption with players leaving at Georgetown. C Yurtseven continued his fine play with a 19 point 9 rebound 3 block.

I would love to see McClung end up in the NBA but even if he doesn't I am a big fan because his athletic ability is a nice jab at caste culture.

Utah beat BYU tonight in an overtime humdinger. Jake Toolson had 27 for BYU and Utah PG freshman Rylan Jones had 25 with 6 assists. Athletic freshman import Mikael Jauntunen had probably his best game so far with an 18 point 6 rebound effort.

Purdue sophomore guard Sasha Stefanovic poured in 20 points to go along with 4 steals in a big win over tough Virginia.

Let's see. He scored 33 pts going 4 of 8 from 3 point range with 2 assists & 2 rebounds. The kid will be in the nba 100%! I will make a large wager with anyone who disagrees with me. :)

By the way CF member icsept was saying he was going to attend the Georgetown Oklahoma State game. Interested in his first hand report.

Excellent performance by McClung!

SL beat me to it. What a performance by Stefanovic in his 1st start of his career!

Also wanted to mention Penn Forward AJ Brodeur. Talented 6'8 230lb Senior poured in 18pts 14reb and 6assists and 3blocks in a loss against good competition in Nova!

Nate Reuvers scored 11pts 3reb and 3blocks in another Wisconsin loss going to be a long season for them. By the looks of it Virginia is going to struggle as well. Only scored 38pts tonight.
