Headline event rumored to be Chuck v Rampage.

The undercard has Tito v Rashad.

Rampage is strong but plodding. He has never been the same since Silva and Shogun beat him down. Forget about the Lindland fight. It was a split decision that could have gone either way. If Chuck just fights like he normally does he will win by KO.

On paper this card has a chance to be one of the best ever. Right now Liddell is rumored to be recovering from pneumonia so the fight is still questionable.

Hope all this is true. Would love to see Chuck destroy Rampage and Tito would definitely humble Rashad very quickly with a devastating ground and pound. Good way to get Tito in the limelight again. Chuck embarrassed him in his last fight and I still say that Forest Griffin beat him in the previous fight.Edited by: guest301

Chuck's a Hall of Famer for sure.

I'll be rooting for Liddell, but I think I can still give an objective opinion on this fight. Like most fans who've been following the sport for awhile, I, too, feel that Rampage isn't the same fighter he was prior to his beatings at the hands of Wanderlai Silva. The joke is that Wandy beat Rampage straight into the arms of Jesus. Some guys come back from that type of beating, and some don't. I don't think Rampage has enough left to take Chuck one more time. I think Jackson gets KO'd in this one.

But then again I thought Big Timmy was gonna KO Captain America, too, so what do I know?

That's why we watch because you truly never know. Rampage may have Chuck's number but I don't think so

Thanks Triad, I didn't know they moved the Ortiz-Rashad fight. I haven't looked at the rumored card for UFC 71 since I posted, do you have any updates?

Wow.

Not a single one of those cards has enough match ups to make it worth the $40, although I know I will probably end up watching them all anyway. They should make one great UFC event out of the three by taking a couple of the best match ups from each show and putting them all on one card.

But really, who knows? Some of the under card fights often end up being the best fight of the night.

The best card,UFC 70, will reportedly air tape delay on Spike for free

. It will be live in UK at about 2 pm ET.
UFC 71 originally looked unbelievable but with the changes is average at best. I've never liked the UFC 69 card. Regardless, the worst UFC is still better than the best NBA, NFL, etc.

Damn straight partner! MMA is the quintessential real-man's sport...more so than football, hockey or boxing!

Chuck Liddell will finally get a chance to erase the only un-avenged loss of his stellar mixed martial arts career when he takes a second crack at Quinton Jackson on May 26, Jackson's manager and trainer Juanito Ibarra told Sherdog.com Sunday.

There was speculation that Jackson (26-6-0) had asked for another tune-up fight before wanting to face the UFC light heavyweight champion, however Ibarra indicated the Liddell bout should be officially announced by Tuesday of this week.

In their previous encounter, a PRIDE Grand Prix semifinal bout in November 2003, Jackson stopped Liddell in just over 13 minutes. Liddell (20-3-0) has not tasted defeat since, winning seven in a row, including two wins apiece against Tito Ortiz (Pictures) and Randy Couture (Pictures).

Jackson has had mixed results since defeating Liddell, compiling a 7-3 record (all three losses by KO) including a pair of devastating knockout losses to former PRIDE 205-pound champion Wanderlei Silva (Pictures). "Rampage" made his February UFC debut a success, knocking out Marvin Eastman (Pictures) in the second round.

Those Pride losses were so brutal it is a wonder Rampage is still fighting. Those fights can be found on You-Tube. This fight between Liddel and Rampage had to be made sooner rather than later as a loss by either one could spoil a big pay per view.

I saw Rampage's fight against Gomi the other day on Pride. Yes Rampage lost that fight due to submission but the guy is so freakishly strong. I saw Gomi put a arm bar on this guy from his back and Rampage lifted him up and slammed him down to the mat about four times to break the hold. He did this with his arm fully extended out and it had to be excruciating. I am rooting for him to lose to Chuck, but he's no pushover. He always has a punchers chance in any fight he's in. With Chuck always happy to engage in a slugfest..who knows.

Thanks for the correction..It was Sakurabe and I would say they all looked alike but that would be racist wouldn't it.

You are right about Rampage's grappling skills but he knows how to slam you to the mat pretty good. He and Kevin Randleman use that manuever like a knockout punch. Matt Hughes is good at that too.

Of course his grappling skills, or lack thereof, probably won't come into play in this fight. Does anybody think that Jackson will go for a takedown? If anything, not having grappling skills could help Jackson. He'll have to focus on the one thing that could beat Chuck: staying on his feet, pressing Chuck, and landing the Big One. At this point in his career, with Liddell's ability to defend the takedown or pop back up, getting KO'd is the only way I see him losing. (Perhaps he could come into a fight out of shape and a wrestler could wear him down and GNP him late in the fight.) Jackson does have the power and explosiveness to KO Chuck. It would be surprising, but strikers have been beaten by lesser strikers before (Mirko/ Randleman I and Liddell/ Couture I come to mind.)

I'm always nervous about fights like this, and Liddell/ Jackson II will be no exception. Go Chuck!!

I am always nervous about fights like this as well. That's why they are fun to watch. What's scary is if Rampage beats him the second time and all the caste assumptions that will go with such a victory. This fight will be more than just about Chuck..whether Chuck realizes that or not. It's probably best that he doesn't, no added pressure about how his race needs a victory in this fight. For caste purposes this is the most important fight in MMA history. Anybody agree?

I don't think Chuck even considers race when he is fighting. I highly doubt he believes in any sort of caste system, and telling him he represents the white race in a battle for the ages might likely just piss him off or make him laugh at the absurdity of it all. I want Chuck to win, but in my opinion there are too many good, white fighters in MMA for this fight to reinforce the idea that white men cannot fight, if Chuck does indeed lose to Jackson. I don't think Chuck considers race either. But do you really think that the caste sheeple out there wouldn't consider another Rampage victory over Chuck as a validation of black athletic supremacy in MMA. They are not known for being particulary rational or logical. Look at all the caste supporters who think Rashad Evans is a great fighter. He's good but greatness has not come close to being proven. They would say all the more(like they have been saying) that if more black guys would train in MMA, then they would be the best fighters. You know the arguement, Shogun. That's why this is the most important fight in UFC history.

I don't believe Chuck considers race either and I'm not really sure what kind of role model he is outside of the cage, rumors of drugs and other sorts of illicit activity are always flying around him. That said I think he will beat Jackson and for some reason I'm quite confident about it. I think Jackson got a big payday from Dana White and now he's just coasting i.e., he's not hungry anymore. While he is no role model Chuck has a sense of his own legacy in MMA and I think he knows that legacy could ride on this fight. Chuck will K.O. him. Write it down.
