I want to see Brian go up to Buffalo.I have a feeling that he would get a fair shot up there. It is going to just make me sick if he falls very low in the draft or goes to a team that doesn't need him.He would either be out of the league or have to become a special teams demon.I hope he knows how bad Luke Staley and Brock Forsey were treated!Hang in there Brian. You need to demand to play at running back period!!

a tidbit from DD.com:

"Prospects most likely to be referred to as "deceptively fast" by the media: Brian Leonard, RB, Rutgers & Eric Weddle, CB, Utah"

DraftDaddy knows what goes on in the scouting circles and how things work. They aren't idiots.

Well St. Louis Coach said Leonard should be the backup at RB.Ther fans are not giving Leonard a lot of respect as a RB on there message Boards THEY THINK HE'S A BLOCKING BACK or the next Chris Cooley it just makes me sick that white people put down other whites with out giving them a chance you will never see blacks do that.

Now, it's to Brian to produce..
I don't care about the fans either but if fans buy his jersey or call in to talk shows or scream to give the ball to him maybe it could make a difference.Thats why i think if fans would boycott the black teams just maybe we could get this changed because of the power of the mighty Dollar.

Leonard being the backup is all I asked for. He should get some carries and game and if Jackson were to get injured for not produce (not likely since he is a very good back) Brian will be there to step in. I also think he will be a great asset for them out of the backfield and has a good QB in Bulger t hrowing to him.

Leonard all the way baby! But I must admit, although Linehan's comments are assuring, should Brian not immediately produce (he will of course), the fans will be screaming for him to be demoted to fullback or at least as the 3rd string halfback. Loathing your own race...disgusting.

Also, although the Patriots drafted some running back out of Central Conn. State in the later rounds, that leaves Evans, Faulk, and Maroney as the only runners left. Maroney has been oft-injured so far, and Evans seemed to get more carries than Faulk in the playoffs, particularly in the Colts game. Faulk's more of a scat/3rd downback anyhow. He's also proven himself as an capable runnerin 2 games as the primary ball carrier. (Looks like he can run a mid-low 4.5 at 250!Ifhe weren't bulked up he'd be great.)He's a phenomenal run blocker, but his running is solid as well. Here's hoping to Evans getting a decent number of carries next year, possibly as the second option. Maroney get injured!

Good point about Heath Evans maybe getting more rushes this season. If Leonard is used as the second running option in St. Louis, he would seem like less of a "freak" if Evans is also being utilized as a ball carrier.

I am looking forward to the Rams season, with Jackson and Leonard in the backfield..... Holt, Bennett, Bruce, McMichael and Klop at WR and TE and off course Bulger at QB, couple that with a solid young O-Line this has all the makings of a top offensive team. Linehan has said that Leonard will be the back up, and will carry the ball, so that is something we should all be happy with. Now lets just hope he gets out there and produces!

Leonard must immediately impress there is no room for a slow start by any means. If these white fans see whitey running the rock out there and doing poorly they'll immediately call for Leonard to be switched to his caste position of FB.

The Pats got Sammy Morris this offseason but I think Evans will stay on the team. He is more vaulable. I wonder what position Garret Mills will play this year. The Pats have Welker, Mills, Thomas and Evans all on the offense.

Oh that's right I forgot about Sammy Morris. Probably because he's an awful back. I don't know how this guy has stayed in the NFL so long. I guess it might be his versatility, as he sometimes serves as a fullback and does the "little things." If Morris gets carries ahead of Evans, that's a joke. Despite being heavier Evans is actually less of a straightline running back than Morris is and is faster. Evans will almost certainly make the team. They love his run blocking ability and versatility. Also I think Garret Mills will play as an H-back. He's perfectly suited for that type of position as he is an excellent receiver. I'm confident Welker will be the slot receiver over kelly Washington. The Pats obviously felt confident enough in his abilities to trade a second rounder for him.

I checked the Patriots website and Morris, Evans and Mills are listed at FB. Evans is 250lbs, Morris is 219. Faulk seems to be the only legitimate back up to Maroney so hopefully they utilize Mills as the h-back as was mentioned earlier.

I just was reading an article on the Rams.com website and it talked about them bringing in FB Brad Lau out of Boise State to challenge for the starting fullback spot with M.Hedgecock. This is great news as they envision Brian Leonard as more of a running back than a fullback!

I also noticed that all three of the Rams 2nd string running backs are old men!Faulk,Davis and Minor.Travis Minor is the only one not in his thirties but he is close and for a rb,that is almost over the hill.Leonard should have a excellent shot at getting playing time at rb and with an injury,he could be the starting rb!It will be up to him to bust ass in training camp and continue to make an impression.I can't see him failing unless he was to get hurt. Here is to the first white running back in the NFL in a long time that might actually stick around.Hell yeah!

Hasn't Faulk filed his retirement papers? As for Minor he is will be cut by September.
