Great to see you back in the H.S forum Mike. We've missed your contributions to this forum over the last couple months. You seem to really know your stuff.

I like what Gill is doing at Kansas so far, he seems at least close to being fair. He might be building an Iowa, Nebraska, Cincinnati type program here. You could say Northwestern too, except the academic standards aren't quite as high at Kansas. Gill seems a bit like Fred Jackson of Michigan- in that he gives white speed position players a chance. Hopefully we'll see 13-15 white players (some who were vastly under recruited) starting at Kansas before long. By the look of most of the caste match-ups last year- that's how you build a winning program!

I have posted about Gill in the past. I have met the man and he is the kind of honest, fair, and responsible coach who we as college fans need more of. A good hire for a program which was going nowhere under Mangino.

I certainly have not been one to attack you. I think you have good football knowledge and are a productive poster. The only thing that begs a question- is that it might be worth it to discover if a player is 1/8th black. They might still self identify with their African roots and be treated as such by the caste system. I'm not so sure that would apply to an 1/8th black player, but it certainly does to a 1/4 black player (like Ian Johnson or Nick Goings). They were looked at as having loose hips and other intangible traits.

I like black players who have stuck up for white athletes being discriminated against (like Javon Ringer or Tiki Barber- I would have said Brandon Marshall, but he's a headcase). I also will occasionally root for a black RB like Stafon Johnson, who had to battle back from a life threatening injury and seems to have a faith in God. He seems like a good guy and is an inspiring story.

For the most part though- black RBs, WRs, CBs and most other black position players are not underdogs and have black skin privilege in football and basketball (the jobs are often handed to them over more qualified athletes of other colors).

I root for Celtic athletes first (I'm a Celt), other Euros and Amero-Indians 2nd (my wife is about 3/16 Amero-Indian) and Asians third because they are up against almost insurmountable odds with the caste system.

I rarely root for blacks at caste positions in football and basketball.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

BTW Mike, what do you think of Nile Knapp? He has the best agility I've ever seen outside of Barry Sanders. He (ridiculously) only got FCS and Division II offers and is staying close to his ailing grandfather at NAIA Lindenwood. The guy has an eye popping game tape and measurables. A sad story.
