The 49ers unexpectedly put Kaepernick on IR today. The real reason most likely is so that they can part ways with him after the season and take little or no cap hit.

It's almost as if CFers have scripted the continuing failures of black quarterbacks. Kaepernick and Griffin III were hyped as the brightest of stars three years ago before both spectacularly crashed. Much like Josh Freeman a few years earlier, Duante Culpepper a few years before that, and maybe some others I can't recall just now.

Then there are the endless flops right off the bat, despite so many colleges going out of their way to start black QBs, especially over the past half dozen years.

So now the NFL is down to Tyrod Taylor, and few if anyone thinks he's going to be a big star; Teddy Bridgewater, who is already a "game manager" at best; Jameis Winston, who may or may not be the next Cam Newton for a few years but likely lacks staying power even if that best case scenario happens; Cam Newton, whose decline will come swiftly once he begins to get injured running the ball so much and is forced to try to become a pocket passer; and Russell Wilson, who is a game manager whose best case scenario is to have staying power and have a career similar to that of Alex Smith.

Excellent write up Don. Spot on. None of these qb's will ever put up 300 yards passing week after week like our qbs do. They do it a different way. That way for the most part is not very exciting in my book. It also is unlikely to win you any super bowls unless you have a great defense like Seattle had a few years ago. Any smart team would stick with the traditional drop back qb. They get the wins alot more consistantly and the game is so much more fun to watch.

Wow, Cam Newton never fails to deliver the wisdom in his post game press conference: "winning shelters a lot of problems, but we just have to keep moving the pendulum forward"..,

Yeah, and the mainstream media and the delusional white fans will act as if his every utterance is an example of divine wisdom.

Of the 19 QBs who have started at least 14 games this season Bridgewater ranks:

Last in passing yards per game.
Last in adjusted net yards per passing attempt.
Last in TDs thrown.

If Ponder was still around in Minnesota and putting up these type of numbers DWFs would never STFU about how awful he was.

The nauseatingly nasal Peter King has ramped up his social justice warrior approach regarding black QBs in the past two weekly articles he has posted:

From May 16th:

3. I think, as a postscript to the story, I remember at Panthers training camp in 2014 having a conversation with Cam Newton, who was adamant about how inner-city quarterbacks were at a disadvantage compared to the care and coaching that so many other young quarterbacks get. City quarterbacks simply couldn’t afford the camps and traveling to the 7-on-7 leagues in the spring and summer.

From May 23rd:

II

“Robert has to be willing to change. Besides his family and his faith, football should be the most important thing in his life, and I don’t think it was always that way when he was in Washington. He was worried about too many other things, and I’m not saying anything I haven’t tried to tell him. He has to give all that stuff up. Total dedication and commitment—that’s what it will take. It’s all up to Robert.”

— Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon, on quarterback Robert Griffin III, trying to rebuild his career in Cleveland after getting released by Washington, in an enlightening story by former Washington Post beat man Jason Reid—now a senior NFL writer for The Undefeated.

Really good story. I admire an enlightening story when the subject of it won’t cooperate. And Reid writes that Griffin wouldn’t.

III

“Griffin worked in the same building with arguably the greatest human resource available to a young, black quarterback and squandered it.”

—J ason Reid, in the RGIII story, on Griffin ignoring the influence of the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl, Doug Williams, who works in player personnel with Washington now.

King is referring to an article on BSPNs new black subsite regarding the gremlin and his fall from grace in Washington. King is quoting some nice excuses from a black woman beating QB in Warren Moon and a black sportswriter. It still makes me laugh to see how coddled and concerned everyone seems to be over black quarterbacks. Yet time and time again from college recruiting all the way to the draft the sanctioned discrimination of white players at RB, WR, Dline, LB, Safety and CB is accepted.

Packers are starting to worry me. Seems they are becoming infatuated with negro Qbs... First they draft Hundley last year and today they sign lard ass Marquiese Williams from UNC.. This means possibility both of Aaron Rodgers backups are black . They better keep Rodgers healthy or this year will go down the toilet. Maybe they think having shitty black qbs balances out having one of NFLs whitest rosters.

I saw that as well. Idiotic IMO. It seems a lot of teams are blackening the qb depth chart as a more subversive way to get black qbs into the NFL.

Another affirmative action policy. Black QBs aren't good enough so they adopt an equal opportunity policy to get more bums in the league... When guys like Josh Johnson, Thad Lewis, BJ Daniels, EJ Manuel are still around... Makes me sick. Too bad no one cares about lack of whites at skill positions, besides us.

PS Ted Thompson and McCarthy should get canned if A-Rod is injured and Hundley has to step in. Packers literally every year have been a contender since2010(when they had leagues whitest team.soon afterwards starting purging their roster )but have yet to make it back to Super Bowl. Wasting Rodgers window of opportunity!

Don't forget dak Prescott, Jacoby brissett and cardale jones joining the ranks this year. The Seahawks and bills have all black qb depth charts and teams like the pats, packers, Cowboys have black qbs on the roster with white qbs who are all in their 30s.

BJ Daniels is a particularly egregious example of an affirmative action quarterback. There's no way he belongs in the NFL based on merit. He only has an NFL job because he's black.

"Kaepernick clearly has the higher upside, bigger ceiling than Gabbert"

"Kaepernick picture perfect for Chip Kelly's upside"

o_O

So the two years older, running quarterback, with no pocket presence, coming off a load of surgeries has more upside than the two years younger pocket passer who is equally as athletic....

As a niners fan, I have to admit that Kaepernick has better upside (for once the media are right on that) - he helped get us to the super bowl after all. But his low is far far lower than Gabbert, and I am 90% sure Kelly will make the 100% best decision and start Gabbert. Gabbert would almost certainly lead us to a better performance than with Kaepernick unless Kaepernick can really really improve the mental part of his game (which I don't really see happening) and recover from injuries.

What is the upside? Seriously. Im not attacking you here, just questioning the use of the term. He's a broken running QB who defences have figured out, the "upside" is him developing into a pocket passer and learning a new way of playing the game. Its a mythical concept, Gabbert has shown far more aptitude at playing in the pocket, therefore, logically his "upside" should be higher, especially in light of how he has developed from bust status and almost out of the league. Gabbert has shown development and progress, Kaep has not, that is how you evaluate.

When you talk of upside you can only use past improvement to guide you, otherwise you are into the realm of myth and belief. Its like believing RGIII has great upside because he could return to his initial level of play(which was brilliant), ignoring that fact the game has moved on, he is a physical wreck, he can never go back to the player he was, you are hoping he can develop into a totally different player and be as good a player as he was previously.

When you talk about upside, you are talking about faith, belief without evidence.

RTTAS. Sports is truly the opiate of the masses these days. When you say " us " I just wanted to know what position you play for the 49'ers? Get some self-esteem and be a sports fan not a sports FANatic. This is why there are so many drunk white fans are out there. There lives are so miserable they need that escape and also leads to the worship of mostly overrated black players, especially football.

I don't think the Toucan has any upside at all. He was only successful under Harbaugh and much of the team success was built on a good defense and running game. Krapernick wasn't the reason they made it to the super bowl. I am sure they would of to their with Alex Smith as well.

I am hoping Gabbert is able to win out the starting job.

I don't agree that Kaepernick helped the 49ers get to the Super Bowl. I think they got to the Super Bowl in spite of him, not because of him. They got there due to their offensive line, their running game and their defense.

In one playoff game the 49ers came back from a first half deficit to win and Kaepernick was given credit for the win. But Kaepernick's poor play in the first half is what got them in a hole in the first place. Kaepernick also choked in the Super Bowl. First and goal and he failed.

The 49ers replaced a superior quarterback, Alex Smith, with an inferior quarterback in Kaepernick. If they had stuck with Smith they probably would have won the Super Bowl.

Note how little criticism Harbaugh received for replacing Smith with Kaepernick and how little criticism Kaepernick received for choking in the Super Bowl. This is due to black privilege. Blacks are never criticized or held accountable for what they do nowadays.

There's nothing wrong with rooting for your team but it's hard to do sometimes with organizations that are both anti-white and black supremacist.

Re: Romosexual, Leonardfan, and Extra Point:
In 2012 and 13 Kaepernick threw at around 60% for 5000 yards, 31 TDs against 11 picks with a mid-90s passer ratings, while also rushing for almost 1000 yards and 9 TDs, putting up a 17-6 record and going 4-2 in the playoffs (passer rating over 100 in the SB run). Obviously his play ranged from mediocre to horrendous in 2014 and 2015, but he has shown many glimpses of potential. While I don't think he will ever meet this potential, he certainly has a strong arm and good running ability and if he could correct the poor aspects of his game (which are many) he could become a decent QB. I would certainly start Gabbert, however, for 2016 and beyond until a better QB is drafted (although as Extra Point mentions I certainly would've preferred keeping Smith and playing him after he recovered from his concussion) back in 2012). I think it's harsh to say Kaepernick choked in the Super Bowl (threw for 300 yards 1/1 and ran for 62 and a score, while the D gave up 34 points), but I'm fairly confident Smith would have gotten the job done that night, as he would of the year after in Seattle.

In order of performance, I'd go with: Smith, Kaepernick at best, Gabbert at best, Gabbert currently, Gabbert at worst, Kaepernick currently, Kaepernick at worst.

RTTAS - hope you didn't think we were piling on you. Just from what I saw with kaepernick was that he thrived in harbaughs one read option scheme and struggled to take any steps to grasp the offense. The 49ers were a good and complete team under Harbaugh.

Don't be so hard on him, many of the posters here still root for certain (mostly black) teams. Look at the Dolphins contingent. Heck, I still have a sentimental spot for the Chiefs, but know that realistically they will never be the Patriots. Especially with Fat Bastard at the controls.
