From what I could find, Benjamin is a junior at Santa Fe HS in Lakeland, FL. I'll type in a few things as I look them up.....
As a sophomore: he ran a 4.57 40 at the National Underclassmen Combine
he ran a 11.26 100M for his school, a 22.53 200M, and long jumped 22' 1"

....And here it is, his workout numbers from the Under Armour Combine in Jacksonville, FL. Of course, since he's melanin-deficient, it's loaded with caste-speak. His numbers for a HS junior are off-the-charts eye-popping, but they give him a "meh". Marginal height at 5'10" as a RB? And what should it be?

Workout warrior
Benjamin Knauf (Winter Haven, Fla./ Santa Fe Catholic) was the workout warrior of the combine testing very well. He has marginal height, but a thick and muscular build and posted a excellent 40 time of 4.33. He also posted a 7.01 in the three-cone, a 4.22 in the short shuttle, notched a 31.5-inch vertical and benched 185 pounds 20 times. He said he rushed for over 1,500 yards as a Wildcat quarterback last season, but worked out with the defensive backs at the combine. He said he has received some interest from the Naval Academy and Georgia Tech, but will need a good deal of work to make the transition. He has the athleticism, but was very cautious in his play. He is a bit of sleeper, but with his athleticism someone could be intrigued to take a chance on him as a running back or possibly take the time to develop him as a defensive back.

Edited to add: I glanced through the chart at the bottom for all of the athletes at the combine, and no one else was even close to his numbers on the 40. Second best was only a 4.6 from some supa-affletic DB.Edited by: FootballDad

BJ Knauf has some serious jets!! Western Michigan has offered; Wake Forest; Boston College; Miami; South Florida; Oregon are listed as hisTop College Choices. As yall said; Ga Tech & Navy are also mentioned.
Wonder why one of Florida's Big 3 (Noles, Canes or Gators)don't take a chance on him at least as a 3rd-down scat-back? Did any recruiters and/or coaches watch any NE Patriots games on TVlast year with Danny Woodhead?? Hopefully his success is something to build on and will open doors for guys like Knauf with his skill-set...give them a legit opportunity!

Here's some of hishighlights...

B.J. Knauf, only a junior, had an outstanding track season this year, setting three school records and winning the district and regional championships in three events: 100 in 10.72, 200 in 21.54, and long jump at 23'1.5". I watched the video of his highlights from his junior season in football and his acceleration is stunning. On several of the highlighted runs it seemed impossible that defensive players did not make contact with him. With one or two steps Knauf would distance himself from fast defensive backs as if they were standing still. On some plays you could see that two defensive players had been assigned to him and were ignoring all other action on the field, yet couldn't lay a hand on him. B.J. Knauf reminds me of the great Glenn Davis.

Finally some good news on the recruiting front B. J.AKA Benjamin Knauf has chosen to play his college ball at Purdue University. I hope they recruited him as a running back, but Knauf has sub 4.4 speed. He has been timed at 4.33 in the 40, and with a little bit of mucle added to his frame he could dominate in the big 10 in upcoming seasons. Finally some good news about a really talented white player. I just hope he is given the oppurtunity to run the ball, and become a star at the college level.http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Benjamin%20(BJ)-Knauf-124858

Good find white power. Purdue was close to recruiting another white rb in Dalton Crossan. Look at Crossan's youtube combine tapes. The kid can jump out of the gym and he has extremely quick feet. There is video of Crossan running agility drills agains the athletically gifterd brothas and he was smoking everyone of them.

the more i watch this kid's highlights, the better i like him. unfortunately, Purdue's coaching staff is already projectingBenjamin to play "the welker." nope, can't have a 5-10, 185-pound guy with 4.3-speed and an uncanny ability to break tackles at tailback if he's White ... he'd still somehow be "not ideal."

a rising senior, Knaufexploded this past track season with personal bests and school records in the 100-meters (10.72),the 200 (21.54), and the long jump (23' 1 1/2"). he won the state title in the 200, and was also runner-up in the 100 and long jump. he's a dynamic athlete.

great spot, sunshine!

Geez getting sick of seeing our athletes being constantly pigeon holed into slot receiver..

Its official , rivals has Knauf listed as a 3 star receiver now. Its funny how kids get recruited to positions they never played for. Maybe our next 4.2 kid with a 47 yards per carry average can go out for long snapper or 2nd string water boy.
