tough as nails are the Poles (as I know I've said several times). Swoboda must be favourite for Belgrade Worlds this year.
Pia Skrzyszowska - I like her style and seems to have lots of top end. Waiting to see her run some 100s soon. She looks 11.10 to me already ..... and she's primarily a hurdler

Here is the actual full race of Ewa Swobodas incredible winning time of 6.99! I want to give props to the silver medal winner Pia Skrzyszowska who again
broke her p.b. running a time of 7.12! What a season she is having and she is at the world class level now too. Today though is all about Swoboda! :)

the second-place runner you mentioned is only 20 years old, and if i understand correctly she’s only running the 60m because an injury caused her to avoid the hurdles (her [formerly?] primary event) this indoor season. her time is especially impressive to me because of the bad start she had. the outdoor season could hold new personal-bests for both of these talents ...

I agree Jimmy Chitwood. To give you a comparison. Ajla Del Ponte ran a 7.03 last year indoors. She then went into the summer and went sub 11 like clockwork.
Del Ponte ended up making the Olympic Finals and finished in 5th place. She had a personal best time of 10.90 last summer. Swobodas 60 record time is even faster than Schippers.

So Swoboda will easily go sub 11 finally. Swoboda has been stuck on her p.b of 11.o7 since 2019. Pia Skrzyszowska has found her calling in my opinon. I agree with
mastermulti that she should go at minimum 11.10 but I'm going to say 11.05!

There is no guarantee Swoboda will easily go sub 11 outdoors this year, I truly hope she does but it is not a guarantee. I would love to see Swoboda and Sant side by side in the same heat in Belgrade, I think it would result in an incredibly fast 60m time from both.

Swoboda is a much bigger body than Sant, she is very muscular and thick(far too many tattoos), she has very good technique as does Sant. Throw in Del Ponte and you have 3 incredibly fast, good looking white female sprinters at the top of the list! I just keep thinking it is a shame Cunliffe went to the Dark Side and looks like a porn star on her social media accounts....shame.

If you would like to bet me 20 dollars we could make a bet here? I guarantee Swoboda goes sub 11 at least twice wind legal.

In Belgrade, Serbia today
**Armand Duplantis (Sweden) broke the World Record in the Pole Vault - 6.19 meters.**

Miltiadis Tentoglou of Greece jumped 8.25m
Thobias Montler of Sweden was 2nd with an 8.23m
So the top 4 jumpers this year are Simon Ehammer of Switzerland, 8.26, Tentoglou and Boling at 8.25, and Montler at 8.23.

In the last couple of years it's been a great time to be a track and field fan. So many world records.

What Armand Duplantis is doing is similar to what Usain Bolt did. Even though Duplantis only competes in one event he is the greatest
athlete in all of track and field around the world. He is night and day above all competition! He should be a far bigger star but
not as many people follow that event. It doesn't take away from what he has done and continues to do. All of this and he is only in his
early 20's. What an incredible pole vaulter. I never thought I would see someone equal or better than S. Bubka but here he is.

Duplantis is in a way echoing Sergie Bubka's record of raising the bar 1 cm at a time and making himself good prize money from doing it

So I was watching the Semifinal Heat 2 today at the 2022 NCAA National Indoor Championships of the 60 meters mens. I mentioned in the Matthew Boling
Thread about how Boling ran 6.56 for a new personal best and he is qualified for the finals tommorow.

I wanted to also mention a new name not brought up here before. A sophmore sprinter from Iowa by the name of Kalen Walker. He ran a 6.64 which is a great time.
Here is his bio from the University of Iowa Website. One to watch outdoors this year and over the next couple of years! :)

Abby Steiner, like Boling, made it into the finals of both the 60m and 200m.
Like Boling, she is the favorite and fast qualifier in the 200m, but has some work to do to medal in the 60m.

Trey Cunningham was the fastest qualifier in the men's hurdles.

I think all 3 of these athletes are as close to the top of the athletic bell curve as you will see a young track athlete or sprinter/hurdler.

I predicted Boling could go 6.55 this year and he almost did it today. Watch that race in slo motion. Over the last 10 to 15 meters Bolings top
speed was just about a stride quicker than any other sprinter in the race. Rarely if ever in my life time have I seen any sprinter walk down a field
like Boling did over 60 meters. He went from last to first in a little over 10 meters. That's insane and shouldn't be possible. WOW. I again stand
by my prediction that Matthew Boling will go sub 10 and sub 20 this summer and it will be wind legal. Barring injury it's almost a sure thing! :)

Steiner has done things over 200 meters in the womens sprinting that even go above & beyond what Boling has done. She is incredible. Amazing. I'm
running out of words to describe her talent.

Cunningham is a talent that is as rare as a fine diamond. Only 1 hurdler in America who is a pro is faster. Cunningham should very well go even faster than
Devon Allen. That's the ultimate compliment. I see sub 13 within two to three years.

What a time to be a track fan. Hoping that all of the 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships tommorow live up to the hype! Good luck to all 3 of them! :campeon:

In addition to Trevor Bassitt winning the 400m at the NCAAA Div 2 Indoor Championship, Brandon Miller of Grand Valley State won the 200m.
We had mentioned him before in the High Schoolers thread, as he won a national indoor HS 200m championship.
Also Leah Belfield of NZ and West Texas won the women's 200m, and took 2nd in the 60m.

Congrats to MaryBeth Sant-Price on getting a bronze medal at the World Championships in the Womens 60 meters Finals. I feel so bad for Swoboda finishing in 4th place.
This has to be one of the fastest finals ever or at least close if my memory is correct.

In the finals of the mens long jump at the world championships, Miltiadis TENTOGLOU shocked the world again jumping a world lead jump of 8.55 for the gold medal. :)
Good to see Thobias Montler of Sweden take the silver with a New Indoors Swedish Record Jump of 8.38! I still think Tentoglou has a good chance at a w.r. outdoors someday!

Cograts to Sant for the bronze, time for both her and Swoboda to take a short rest then start training for the outdoor season. I look forward to see if Bol can beat Miller-Oibo in the womens 400m.

meanwhile, in the heptathlon Ash Moloney got his first experience on "the boards". His first ever 60m indoors will go down in the records as 6.70 seconds and ditto his long jump, 7.82m
