Oops, I meant Matt's time is the fastest US male 200 time (typo). Obviously I know about Pietro Mennea, et al.

maybe the hype about Matthew Boling will now become more level headed among fans in general. If expectations are a bit more realistic his stress levels will hopefully get to match.
There is an ever present danger that a young person will believe the hype that's written/expressed about them - it's often really tempered by reality.
Anyhow, he has now competed at the highest level and so he knows nothing will come easily. The ball's now in his court as to how he'll use this new found wisdom

I know Boling is under a lot of stress. You know every day he hears he representing the white race. He might not admit that people tell him that but I'll bet my last cent that he hears and reads it. I know white people from the south and there is a lot of us racist rednecks still around and letting him know he's representing our race. So that's got to make every race a little bit harder on him.

It just seems to be a pattern with white sprinters: peak around age 20 and then decline
Two black sprinters just off the top of my head who never improved past 19 or 20 were J Mee Samuels after tying the HS record in the 100M at 10.08 never got any better than than a 10.03 and ran a PB 20.32 in HS. Trentavis Friday ran a 10.00 100M at 19 years old and never ran that time ever again and had PB at the same event in Oregon was 20.04 in the 200M. Never to run that time or better again. I guess Friday peaked at age 19? I'm sure there are plenty more.
99.999% of folks will never understand what it takes to run a 10.00 100M or an 11.00 100 M for that matter. A blink of an eye, just a subtle loss of concentration, etc. is the difference between a 10.00 and a 10.5.
It's akin to when white athlete haters point to the white busts in the NFL while never mentioning there are more black busts than whites.

No offence, but if you're not going sub-10 for men and sub-11 for women, you may as well not bother.

Again I ask why are you here Mr. Negative Nancy? I've seen your comments over and over and you love to attack our white men & women. Have you ever heard of being optimistic? I'm
sure that is not in your vocabulary unless it's to root for the black athletes and continue to hate on the white athletes. If you can't argue both sides then you have a singular view from
the beginning. You are on a message board that roots for white athletes. There are only a couple of people here that always are negative. Chipnsalsa and DWF. Gee the names fit the posters.
Either be more positive the majority of the time or find a new message board.

I'm not talking about your posts here on the track board. I'm talking about other places. Me and Don want to keep this a positive place. So I guess you consider Luka Doncic a wigger? Your crazy and out of your mind. The guys speaks many languages
and is far more intelligent than most americans. Be more positive. No reason to attack our guys. Especially MVP Caliber Players. Doncic is a legend already.

Your’e rooting for sports like a woman instead of analyzing it like a normal man. You have no problem attacking Porzingis ( without constructive criticism or even watching him play) and nut hugging Luka. Never said he was a wigger or not a great player. He is a bad teamate, learned that from watching games and interviews not blindly rooting for all white players.

Anyways, I went and watched are state track meet last weekend and enjoy it ( never ran track, dont pretend to understand it). Sure is hell didnt root on black athletes, although to be fair Brandon Battles in the 400 meters was impressive winning by 30 meters.

You need to learn respect. Don't ever tell me I root like a woman. Your on very thin ice amigo. I root for Porzingis. Always have and always will. He is not playing good period. That is a fact. I played baskeball for half of my life and watched
it my whole life. You don't know who I am. Learn to talk like an adult and quit calling white athletes wiggers. You are the only one of this board that does this. Luka has more triple doubles than anyone in the league. He dishes out around 9
assists per game and your low iq basketball knowledge says that he is a bad teammate. What a joke! He is one of the top 3 players in the NBA. What more could any player do? Porzingis needs to play better. No one is rooting against him here.

Lisa Meyer is doing well for an unjuiced sprinter unlike so many of the American finalists this year. As well as the Caribbean islands athletes. Her 11.16 would have paced her 6th in the USA Olympic trials 100m final versus the best USA sprinters....

One must never give up even though the deck is stacked against you, all those Negro sprinters for the most part hate you because you are white...These strong white female sprinters are a threat to the very core of the Negro female sprinters.... Case in point: after the womens 400m noone went near Shae Anderson(white) as far as I could tell, no handshakes no comadarie even from Allyson Felix whom I respect as a clean black sprinter.... We all need to root for the white ahtletes no matter what...

The women sprinters from Germany have two sprinters that have hit the olympic qualifying time. Lisa Meyer is having a great year so far as is Burkhardt.

I am super excited about the 800m this year.
Clayton Murphy looked great and not even that tired in winning the Olympic Trials in a world leading time.
GB has some fantastic youngsters in Oliver Dustin and Max Burgin, each of whom ran a world leading time this year.
Poland has, new to the event, Patryk Dobek, who was the world leader until Murphy's race this week.
Exciting times!

Agreed, Jack. While everyone is arguing about our sucky sprinters, last night three beautiful blondes swept the US Championships in the 1500 and will represent us at the Olympics. Three other beauties swept the 5000. Meanwhile, Clayton won the 800 and Bryce Hoppel also made the squad at that distance. Meanwhile, Kincaid, Fisher, and Klecker took the medals in a sensational 10,000 and will all be going to the Olympics, and I expect more good news from our runners when the trials resume on Thursday. I mean, there's great news in track for anyone with an attention span longer than 10.5 seconds!

Murphy looked incredible in the 800, though, and will definitely be in the running for the gold. I also have my fingers crossed that Bosse gets back into Olympic shape, but I don't know if it's going to happen.

Even the mens Decathalon was very enjoyable to watch and we had 2 of our guys make the team. There is always things to talk about despite our spirnters having a rough year. I'm very optimistic
even with them for the future. The glass is half full not half empty. In the distances from 800 meters up to the 5000 and possibly 10000 meters we have athletes from around the world with the ability
to win the gold medals at the Olympics. At the very minimum many of them will make the medal stand.

It was cold and rainy in Karlstad, Sweden today yet Duplantis still went for 6.00 meters in the Pole Vault. This kid is phenomenal. Love watching him compete! He is a once in a lifetime talent!

Despite a rainy & wet track, Henrik Larsson ran a new seasons best of 10.29 +1.3 which is a step in the right direction. He hasn't had good conditions for any of his races yet so I'm hoping he can
get his times down to 10.20 or lower in his next race or two. Larsson is still only 21 years of age and he has so much upside! If not this year then down the road.

No more in fighting which accomplishes nothing. Stick to the topics on the message board threads. One guy has been banned for trolling. We don't want to have to ban a second one. Thanks guys. There
is way to much good in sports to focus on the bad and negative.

We are going to need to start a thread for the 800m. There are so many new and talented runners emerging.
Burgin and Dustin from the UK/ Dobek( new 27yr old) and Borkowski from Poland/ Robert and Tual from France.
Plus 18 yr old Renier De Villiers from South Africa.
Along with teenager Max Burgin is 17 yr old Krzysztof Roznicki from Poland.

Last year as a 16 year old Roznicki ran a 1.47.27s 800m but his 400 was 47.26( 3rd in u18), 600 was 1.18.06(1st u18) and 1000 was 2.22.66(1st u18).
He has Seb Coe like ability. This year his pb is 1.44.51. He has a chance at sub 100 seconds at his peak.

Speaking of 16 year olds we have a emerging sprinter from Poland. Jakub Pietrusa ran a 10.45 p.b. time today in one of the races. Pietrusa then raced to a 10.41 but the wind was 2.1 so he just missed
another p.b. He was born in February, 18th 2005 so he just turned 16 several months ago. He also ran a 21.16 today into a negative 1.1 wind! Someone to keep a close eye on in the future!

It is exciting to think that the U.S., the Brits, the Poles and the Aussies all have a full house of qualifiers in the men's 800 for Tokyo ........ depth in an event means it's more likely someone is in form at any particular time and thus lifts the interest in that event in that country

Unfortunately, we have our first 800m casualty.
Max Burgin won't participate in the British Olympic Trials due to a pulled hamstring.
Bad luck.
