Since '05, the Pitt Panthers have started 8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 11, 11, 10, 9, 7, 8, 6, 10, 4, and 6 Whites. They are projected to start 6 again in 2021.

Pitt football defines mediocrity, as does their coach Pat Narduzzi, now in his seventh season. He's made a number of inexcusable decisions when it comes to strategy including clock management. It never fails to amaze me how the art of the two-minute offense has almost totally disappeared thanks to the dumbing down of America, including football coaches.

For the eleven year span covering 2010 through 2020, Pitt never finished worse than 5-7 or better than 8-5. The program has struggled since a great run starting in 1976 when they won the national championship under Johnny Majors, and then after Majors abruptly left, a five-year run under Jackie Sherrill when the team went 50-9, which coincided to a great degree with Dan Marino's tenure there.

Football mad Western Pennsylvania produces lots of White high school talent at all positions, but running backs, receivers and defensive backs are almost never recruited by Pitt (and Penn State or anyone else). I've written in the High School forum about local powerhouse Pine-Richland, which has won two state championships in recent years yet whose star players are always studiously ignored by recruiters and the alleged "scouting services." Pine-Richland until recently was coached by former Pitt star Eric Kasperowicz and should have been a strong feeder school for Pitt. Instead the school district's "woke" board fired Kasperowicz several months ago, which caused quite the uproar in support of the fired coach, to no avail. Kasperowicz has since filed a libel suit against the school board.

Of the six starters, five started last year; Owen Drexel replaces last year's starter at center, Jimmy Morrissey. QB Kenny Pickett is a redshirt senior and stands a good chance of being drafted next year.

The only other White players on the two-deep offense are linemen.

On defense, LB John Petrishen is the only other paleface besides starting tackle Devin Danielson:

QB: Kenny Pickett
RG: Jake Kradel
C: Owen Drexel
RT: Gabe Houy
TE: Lucas Krull

DT: Devin Danielson

Don, like you said, Pitt could be a consistent powerhouse if they simply recruited the talented White players in their own backyard. Those guys proved to be the best in state at HS level. No reason to think they wouldn’t have similar success in college but almost every NCAA coach is a tremendous coward and an anti-White hack.

Pine-Richland is in my neck of the woods in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh. The northern suburbs were mostly farm land until the end of WWII and were developed as your basic overwhelmingly White, Ozzie and Harriet-type middle to upper middle class housing plans and neighborhoods. Besides Pine-Richland in recent years, there are large, still mostly White school districts like North Allegheny and North Hills which almost always are quite competitive in all high school sports including football. And located in the city, North Catholic High School (now relocated to the northern suburbs) was always well known for its powerhouse football teams. But these football-rich resources have always been under-recruited to put it mildly.

There are analogous situations in every metro area in the country. The Caste System becomes obvious and simple to see just by observing what happens to star high school football players after high school -- downplayed or ignored by the "recruiting services" -- a finely tuned scam -- college coaches too cowardly to recruit them at their best position, wealthy alums who would be "embarrassed" by their presence, etc. It's very impressive how many White kids still make the NFL under the circumstances.

The ship is likely to sink with Pickett off to the NFL and Whipple resigning (rumored to be Nebraska's next coordinator).

Pittsburgh OC Mark Whipple has resigned and is not expected to coach in Pitt's bowl game on December 30th.

Whipple's resignation from Pitt appears to be a mutual one, although the timing ahead of the Peach Bowl is a bit peculiar. Whipple helped lead Pitt to an 11-2 record and an ACC championship last weekend, behind Heisman Trophy candidate Kenny Pickett. His Panthers ranked third in the nation, scoring 43.0 points per game, and were sixth in passing yards per game (350.2). Whipple's contract with the Panthers was set to expire at the end of this season, as the question now becomes whether or not the 64-year old coach will look to continue his career elsewhere. Prior to joining Pitt in 2019, Whipple spent five seasons (2014-2018) as the UMass head coaching, going 16-44 over that span, with his best seasons coming in 2017 and 2018, when he won four games in each season.

Great play by Pickett, but now they're trying to creat a rule, limiting "fake slides". Whatever.
