Steelers vs. Cowboys start the newly shortened 3 week pre-season. As always I will be rooting for our guys to make an impact and remain healthy.

Robert Spillane is playing and I expect him to be yet another of those Anonymous Tackling Machines at linebacker this season. Cassius Marsh playing also but he'll be a backup barring injury. T. J. Watt won't play, he's trying to land a mega-contract before training camp ends.

Rudolph looks pretty good - you can see the progression from year 1 to 3. My guess is Tomlin views Haskins as his pet project so Rudolph will need to play very well all preseason.

Thought I’d note Cassius marsh is mixed, don’t have anything against him though of course.

Solid play by linebackers and QBs and then a Matthew sexton return. DE from Oregon had action too

Is he? He's one of those guys we've wondered about over the years, but if he's mixed he's still about the Whitest looking mixed player ever. Plus he's been on like seven different teams in seven NFL seasons, that's an indignity that almost always happens only to Whites.

He’s a guy we posted about a couple of years ago....He showed up with Pittsburgh late last year and I was mistaken also....I’ll be rooting for him....The lib media doesn’t seem to like him.....The limp lib media really hates Rudolf....They’re nasty.....I’ll be listening this week....Mason threw the ball well tonight......

Yeah Cassius Marshs dad is a black former player named Curtis Marsh sr, but there’s always the chance they’re not biologically related. Look at Cassius Marshs brother Curtis Marsh jr, who’s very obviously black.

so there’s a small chance Cassius is white, but I thought I recalled finding out once and for all he was mixed cause I remembered him saying something in an interview but I could be wrong.

heres a picture of his father, and his brother. So I think there’s a small small chance Cassius isn’t biologically related and could be white but unlikely

Cassius Marsh is the son of Curtis Marsh, who was a White receiver in the NFL in the '90s with Jax and Pitt. He was 6-2 and 210 pounds and was one of those guys who looked great in preseason games but never got a chance in the regular season. A typical screwed over White receiver, which was so common in the 1990s. He had just 9 career catches in three NFL seasons.

Curtis Marsh Jr. was a cornerback who was drafted by the Eagles and washed out of the league. He is clearly Black. Curtis Jr.'s mother was Black. According to Wikipedia, Marsh Jr. was born in West Hills, California, and raised by his mother, Trayci Gibson with his sister M'haganee Kahlil Gibson. His (half) brother is Cassius but my guess is that Cassius's mother is White.

This is Cassius's mother. I guess it's possible the Curtis Marsh from the 1990s is Black, but I certainly don't remember him that way.

This is very confusing… I believed Curtis Marsh sr (father) to be black, but I could be wrong.

here’s a family photo with the father on the far right, featuring a white child and the questionable Cassius Marsh…

Maybe there's more than one Curtis Marsh from the 1990s. I've looked into it before and always end up confused lol

Hard not to root for Mason. The victim of a black on white crime on national tv and then being accused of saying the “n” word which makes the whole assault by Garrett excusable. Rudolph handled the whole thing well especially when e media, blacks and DWFs were all out to demonize him.

Back to the game - he made a few great throws - claypool dropped a pass. He had one out pattern he threw the ball perfect as well as a deep pass.

Tomorrow’s game
Washington vs Patriots

Heres what I’ll be looking for in this game.

- Kyle Allen or Taylor Heineke, who wins the backup QB job? Both guys are interesting

- Dax Milne; how much playing time does he get and does he play slot or outside? Washington has a lot of receivers so I don’t expect him to make the team. This could be a tryout for another team and a practice squad tryout.

- Adam Humphries; #3 receiver, #4 receiver, #5 receiver? I have no clue where he stands, will be interesting to see how much playing time he gets and which group he runs with.

- Can’t wait to see Troy Apke play CB, he’s 3rd on the depth chart at one CB position right now. I expect him to see the field a lot tomorrow.

- Where does Matt Ioannidis fit in in a deep DL? Going into year 6 at only 27 yrs old. Should be a #2 DT in their 4-3 defense.

- Casey Toohill should see a lot of playing time and I expect him to make the team and backup Chase Young/Montez Sweat. Super athletic DE.

- 5 white LB’s. Who makes the team besides Holcomb? (Joe Walker, David Mayo, Jared Norris, Jordan Kunaszyk).

- Rookie TE John Bates; weak TE room, should have a shot at #2 TE spot with a solid preseason.

- Gunner Olszewski should get a lot more looks on offense. Can he be the next Julian Edelman? In year 3 of playing WR he should find himself fighting for a bigger role in offense.

- Mac Jones; can’t wait to see him play, will he make the big plays like he did at bama?

- RB Tyler Gaffney; he’s still around, does he have any chance to make the team or he just a training camp/practice squad body?

I was always a Gaffney fan....I just read he’s been cut.....
What a great senior season he had for the Cardinal.
A rare draft pick, but never panned out.
He isn’t 100% lunchpail, but he’s always been a favorite of mine....
Hopefully he surfaces somewhere else.

I saw Humphries make a catch for Washington.....
I forgot that’s where he was.....
The Steelers aren’t played until 11:00 on the NFL network.....

I wanted to watch this game but a line of thunderstorms has knocked out my cable reception. If anyone's watching, how is Mac Jones looking? I know Newton started the game but Mac came in at some point in the first half.

From what I’ve seen and heard he looks pretty good. Not wowing with his arm but moving like a veteran in the pocket and making solid plays.

Joe Schobert to the Steelers.
Not sure if that’s a knock on Spillane or not.
