Since 2005, the Buffaloes have started 10, 11, 9, 9, 12, 12, 14, 15, 13, 7, 8, 8, 7, 8, 6, and 7 whites. Expect 7 this year

You can pinpoint their steady decline to the Jon Embree and Mike McIntyre eras beginning in 2011 recruiting classes and showing up in the numbers in 2013. With new hire Karl Dorrell taking over after Mel Tucker’s unceremonious exit don’t expect any sharp reversals in the near future.

The obvious group to watch is the LB core led by stud linebacker Nate Landman - who’s recorded over 100 tackles in 18 and 19 and was on pace to for 20 during the Buffs 6 game COVID shortened season and injury shortened season Anchoring the LB core along with Landman will be 2020 1st Team All Pac-12 Carson Wells, who led the nation in TFL / game last year and Jonathan Van Diest - a local product from Cherry Creek. They also brought on grad transfer Jack Lamb from Notre Dame.

The unfortunate news out of camp comes with the QB battle – as Tennessee transfer JT Shrout suffered an injury all but handing the reigns to true freshman quotback JT Lewis. This is on top of previous starter Sam Noyer recently transferring to Oregon State

The one weapon on offense is another local product from Fort Collins – Brady Russell – who was had a breakout start to the 2020 season before an injury sidelined him for the year,

Offense
Kary Kutch – LG
Colby Pursell – C
Kanan Ray- RG
Chance Lytle - RT
Brady Russell – TE

Defense
Carson Wells – OLB
Nate Landman – ILB

Two Deeps
, Matt Lynch – TE, Jack Lamb – ILB, Jonathan Van Diest - ILB

Too bad about Shrout. McIntyre really disappointed after coming over from SJSU.

It's great to see the depth at LB though.

Any insight on to why Noyer transferred? I'm assuming he saw the writing on the wall with Dorrell and the black quarterback.
