Matt McGlon has actually looked pretty good for Oakland. Their problem has been on the defense. The Jets won't likely go for another QB considering they have two first round QB on their roster and neither one has panned out. Dallas might want to consider a QB considering Romo can't win in December.

Geno Smiff was actually a second rounder.

Saints already grooming a guy from Tulane, Ryan Griffin, showed promise on a crappy offensive team, and showed promise in training camp/preseason. He has a lot to learn. Sean Payton has a different personnel package for every few plays, which might be their reason for struggling on the road against better defenses, allowing them to change their personnel as well. They should just go no huddle more often. Ingram was supposed to be the do it all back but that hasn't panned out, 3 yards and a cloud of dust, if the blocking is great, not good at pass protection and not a good receiver, so they switch out between guys like Pierre Thomas and Sproles.

Shanahan might get the gig for the Texans and bring Cousins in, I don't think he is starting over RG3 in Washington, regardless of how he does. They used a lot to get RG3, they aren't giving up on him in his 3rd year. Although I'd like to see how Keenum plays out with some experience.

I don't know if San Fran brings in real competition, because it seems to hurt non white starting qb's confidence making them perform even worse.

McCown should be starting somewhere for sure, there are plenty of teams that could use an upgrade at qb. Unfortunately for the Jags, they need to upgrade the entire offense. Maurice Jones Drew is on the downside of his career and I don't their receivers are talented. They should have stuck with Matt Jones who was on pace for 1k, despite not using his deep speed with dink and dunk Garrard.

what do the Browns do with Brian Hoyer? he has shown promise and still pretty young, he won all 3 games he started. Campbell's stats look good on paper but they have won just 1 game with him.

Besides black quarterbacks, we have a good deal of White talent at qb that could be starters, as McCown has shown. Perhaps its best for some of these guys to sit and learn for a few years and learn the game more, like it used to be. It would be nice to see Manziel learn under Brees, but he is only 33, which isn't that old for a White qb. Brees is pretty mobile in the pocket, and used to be faster back in the day, his footwork in the pocket to extend plays is amazing. They both ran versions of the spread in college so the (Brees the most early version). Except the Saints have too many other issues to address besides backup qb. Perhaps they can get another db that can't tackle or cover, or linebackers that suck, or another overrated left tackle. (They benched their starting one last week and put in Strief (the White starting RT and put in the backup RT in his spot, who I believe is also White). Their receivers get no seperation, well one does but can't catch. Offense is predictable, Jimmy Graham or Sproles (who is getting old for a rb), which is why they caught Carolina off guard, they finally threw to some wide receivers which weren't well guarded.

Manning will be 38 at the start of next season and Brady will be 37. Bellicheck doesn't seem to have a problem with grooming qbs, he has Mallet, and Cassell and Hoyer played under him and they have shown flashes. I'm not sold on Osweiler behind Manning. They need someone to groom behind him, not sure who fits the mold but they will find somebody late, unless they are worried about injury with Manning they could pick up Carr late first round which could wind up a good thing.

I can make one not so bold prediction about the draft because it happens every year, dozens of affletic receivers will be drafted from rounds 2-4 and maybe 2 or 3 will pan out, if that. Meanwhile talented White receivers will fall (like Hartline did to the 4th or Cooper to the 5th, serve as 4th receivers for several years and then get a chance to shine (those are the lucky ones). Also, maybe 1 White safety will be given a shot to start early like Harrison Smith despite there being dozens and dozens at the fbs and fcs level with the talent to play, many won't get a shot and the few that do will be playing special teams (Cooper Taylor), if they're lucky they ay be rotated into some dim and maybe nickel packages. And Tyler Gaffney will fall to the 5th or 6th round and wind up in a similar situation as Burkhead.

Bold prediction: Bellicheck drafts Jordan Lynch and puts him at another position like safety (although he would be better at halfback), and it will take a few years for him to shine (like Edelman)

No dual threats allowed at qb, at least ones that run the spread option. Tannehill given a chance despite running it in college, mobile, fast, but discouraged from running, same with Jake Locker, so leaves me wondering where Lynch will wind up if its not the Patriots.

Not sure why this thread is so focused on quarterbacks, all of the recent quotbacks have failed except Wilson, who can make plays from the pocket. We have too much White talent at the position in the pros and a ton more in college.

The only hype job that is graded high is Bridgewater, where does he land? the Browns? so he can learn from the mediocre Campbell? They have gone after veterans for a while with no success (Seneca Wallace, washed up Delhomme, with a young Colt McCoy sprinkled in), then the 28 year old Weeden who showed promise, but a White qb in his early 20s doesn't get the chance to develop, they weren't going to wait until he was 30, which is their mistake, could have gotten at least 5 years after that. I can't see Bridgewater fitting the Texans scheme, unless they decide to completely rebuild the offense.

Fitzpatrick is not going to be considered a starter unless there is an injury. Romo is going to get at least another year. McCown should be somewhere starting, i just hope its not the Jags, and with their stance on Tebow and brief trial with White qbs, I could see them taking Bridgewater if available, assuming the Browns pick later or decide to stick with Campbell/Hoyer

Nice write-up DWID. I agree with alot of what you stated. Free agency will play a role in what happens obviously.

Regarding McCown I think he may end up staying in Chicago and Cutler may end up in Houston or Tennessee. Trestman might draft his own QB this year to groom behind McCown who is enjoying a career renaissance. Honestly, that would be an ideal situation.

Some wildcards are Mallet and Cousins - both are young QBs with a ton of potential. Mallet has been linked to the Browns and Cousins should be a hot commodity if he plays out the season like the did vs. Atlanta.

Griffin is a pretty interesting player, I remember him getting a buzz prior to the draft. I think the Saints will develop him much like they did Chase Daniel. Griffin is a different player though - tall with a great arm - another guy with a ton of potential.

I think Keenum and McGloin will stick around in the NFL as solid spot starters and #2 QBs. This is based more due to the perception of the two players rather than their ability. McGloin has played very well considering he was an UDFA and an afterthought. Defenses seemed to figure out Keenum and/or the Houston offense. They have both played much better than the two black quarterbacks drafted in the 1st - Manuel and 2nd - Smiff rounds.

It will be interesting to see if the Jets and Bills admit they made mistakes with their overdrafted, pampered black quarterbacks that were both handed the starting jobs and not made to compete for them. Smith has had the worst rookie season for a QB that I can recall. Manuel has been oft-injured and very underwhelming when he has played. Both teams would be well served to draft a QB fairly early in the next draft. Glennon is much better than either of those QBs but the media and DWFs will try their best to convince everyone he should not get a chance to be the starting QB of the Bucs moving forward.

I also hope Jordan Lynch will get drafted and converted to RB or offensive weapon like Denard Robinson did. I think Lynch could be a very good RB at the next level. I may be in the minority here with wanting such a talented dual threat QB to become an RB but we need more RBs in the league and Lynch is an intriguing possibility.

I'd like to see Lynch converted to RB as well but we know how impossible the NFL makes it for a white to start there. He'd get more playing time if he converted to WR or safety.

I understand the suggestions here, his best bet to make it in the NFL would be at another position. RB would be best, but "that beez OUR pozishun!". WR or safety sound good, but he would have to start from scratch there, making success tenuous at best. It burns me that he can't play his natural position. What, Teddy Bridgewater is better? Tahj Boyd is better? Brett Hundley is better? Geno Smiff is better? EJ Manuel is better? I could go on and on, but you get my drift. Lynch is FAR better at QB that most of the hyped-up black quarterbacks that are piled on us, but HE has to change position.

He has to change positions because he's more athletic than the entirety of the incoming black quarterback class ;)

Came across this article full of caste speak regarding the 2014 draft: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/early-look-at-the-nfl-draft-b99168238z1-236899801.html

This goes to show you just how entrenched these stereotypes are with these buffoon scouts. Bortles is more athletic than Bridgewater yet Bridgewater due to skin color is automatically labeled an athletic QB, have they even seen Bortles play? The Jared Abbrederis quote is even more telling with the scout(s) saying that he would be best served ending up in New England or Denver.

My QB predictions:

It may be too early to tell, but I think Cousins takes over in Washington next year..

I disagree with just this one prediction. Shanahan will get fired and just like the hillis emerged in denver under shanahan a new coach will be hired to undo the damage. RgIII will immediately named as the franchise qb by the new coach. Cousins will either sit or be traded. My guess is sit. Back to status quo. After another year of RgIII failures cousins will be gone in Washington. No way the caste world could swallow the large egg of cousins beating out RgIII.

No matter how well white men test out athletically the media will still call them un-athletic. Blacks who test out worse athletically will be called athletic.

For example, Toby Gerhart ran the 40 in the low 4.5s and was called slow. Blacks who ran slower 40s were called fast. Some pundits projected Gerhart as a fullback, solely because he was white.

It will be interesting to see how fast Jared Abbrederis runs, because no matter how fast he does run, he will still be projected as a slot receiver because he's white.

This is how the caste system works.

"Or do you want the athlete in Manziel or Bridgewater? There will probably be three in the first. Depends what people think of Johnny Manziel."

"Bridgewater can throw from the pocket and is an adequate runner."

That's pretty funny. Bridgewater has a total of 146 rushing yards over 3 seasons at 0.7 yards per carry. Basically, all of his runs are quick scrambles for a yard or two type runs that are common among pocket passers.

Abbrederis is considered slow by all scouting websites. Even though we know he's fast and has deep speed they consider him an average athlete.

Whoever edits Rotoworld's NFL Draft section is a lot more fair minded than the rest of their cast of Jewish writing rejects. They've given Bortles credit for his size and ability to move in the pocket, comparing him to Luck, Roethlisberger and Flacco.

I have also encountered a few entries which have quoted scouts critical of Bridgewater, saying something to the effect that they're not sold on him as a top 10 prospect.

Bortles is having a killer game right now in the Fiesta Bowl! He's very similar to Luck- intelligent, fast, accurate with a great release.

Watched most of the Fiesta Bowl (before nodding off sometime in the 4th qtr), and was impressed with Bortles. I thought both QBs played very well. It was a tough game to watch, rooting for Bortles to do well, while wanting Baylor to win. UCF's offense is almost coal black outside of Bortles, while Baylor is very white. I counted 7 whites on offense most of the time for the Bears.
Bryce Petty did well, but was clearly pressing when behind in the 4th quarter. I look forward to seeing him next year as well. Bortles is NFL caliber. Amazing pocket awareness, great at going through his progressions, rocket arm, and can run, too. The Andrew Luck comparison is valid.

Petty played a great; it's not his fault his sumo o-lineman (#77) single handily destroyed Baylor's momentum by getting flagged every other play!

Really hoping that Bortles declares - he needs to strike while the iron is hot. He could easily be the first player taken and if he ends up in Houston it would be ideal.

I see a lot of pundits bringing up Manziel's frame. He outweights Bridgewater 210 to 197 despite being a couple of inches shorter. Bridgewater's frame is much more slight than Manziel's.

Here's Abbrederis (4.5) beating Bradley Roby like a drum (4.4)

I see Abbrederis being similar to Jordy Nelson with regards to how they run their deep routes. Both are very fluid and catch the ball behind coverage. I bet their track backgrounds help with this.

Neither of them are anywhere near as tall or heavy as listed. I doubt Bridgewater is over 190, and will measure at about 6'2", but he has limitless upside. This is the sort of thing that DWFs can't explain, unless it's to say "Well, yeah, but c'mon". What a joke.

Just looking at Bridgewater tells you he's not nearly as big as he's listed.

I truly believe Connor Shaw is worthy of a 2nd round pick. After the clinic he put on I consider him to be even better than Bridgewater and Boyd for that matter. Not just Shaw;Bortles, Carr,Mettenberger,Murray, Fales, are all legit prospects. Very strong QB class. So im not really worried about the hype those 2receive..

As for defense where do you see some of these guys in that Stanford and Wisconsin front 7? Beau Allen,Brendan Kelly,Ethan Hemer,Josh Mauro, Ben Gardner, Henry Anderson all are big bodies that for the 3-4 scheme. Borland's a stud as is Skov,Tarpley. Armstongs also a solid player for the Badgers. How about kyler Ellsworth might have made the defensive play if the night going airborne to stuff the run!

I'm getting so fed up with Bridgewater being anointed as the unanimous first overall pick. No one questions it at all. You'd think he were Andrew Luck. But every other quarterback I've heard mentioned as 1st round picks get scrutinized to no end. But nope not Bridgewater, he's the number one pick and there's no argument.

I guess this is the media's attempt to salvage their disastrous season. A few months ago we were looking at potentially 4-5 black quarterbacks drafted in the first round

If the Texans pick Bridgewater over Manziel they're dumber than I thought. Then they'll be stuck with three subpar quarterbacks. Manziel can help them, and the Texas connection is just an added bonus.

There is talk going around that Bortles will declare Monday. I hope this is true. He and manziel could go top 10. As long as sewerwater doesn't go #1 i'm satisfied.
