Well its been a while since the last college game but I just finished my first video for the season, Rex Burkhead, its a mixture of new and old. I have to say he looked better than before during the Georgia game with no problem cutting on his knee.

Dwid is a video making legend. Just make sure you mute the soundtrack to the video. Haha. Rex Burkhead is by far my favorite player over the last couple of years. It kills me that he sustained some injuries but the guy is a beast. He seems to come back stronger and faster with each setback. This kid can dunk a basketball all day long. He has monster legs. He reminds me a little bit of Luke Staley from around a decade ago. Maybe he is "Quadzilla II". I still like "TRex" and "Rocket" Rex Burkhead the best.

I really think he has a chance to be special if he can find himself in a situation like Hillis at at Cleveland a few years ago. I can't wait to see Rex tear it up at the combine and then hopefully get a fair shot. Please don't let him get screwed like Toby and others have. Some team in need needs to draft him and make him their starting running back.

Thank you, dwid. These videos are important. They are tremendously effective in backing up and supporting Caste Football.

One caveat. Maybe you could upload the video(s) with a soundtrack more to our liking to another video host so we can otherwise view without sending us into depression. I understand that there is a method to your madness in choosing hippity hop, but I’m just saying. ;)

thanks for the appreciation guys. Yeah about the music, I try to mix it up between genres but Youtube has gotten pretty complex and allows how many people view your video and how many minutes of the video they watch, where they leave the video, if they replay a part of the video etc. I have found that with videos that do not have hip hop in them, viewers watch less of the video. So even though a song without hip hip may have more views, it might have an average of 1 minute watched, maybe its not just the music, making these has been a learning process for me, I try to put some plays that would grab the average person's attention, but sometimes people don't see what I see, a 14 yard gain could be great blocking or it could be the result of great skills of one player, but the average person would rather see a 30+ yard play where the defenders bit on the fake and got sucked in close to the los and took bad angles, they don't notice that, or a big reception that was due to blown coverage rather than a smaller one that required alot more skill, those are the ones that are usually the majority of an affletes highlight, i try to use more footage, with the flashier plays the beginning so nobody can say "well anyone can look good in a highlight", well mine are longer than the average one and the players still look good.

I wish you could enjoy it but the idea is to grab a bigger audience, and retain their attention to actually watch the whole thing. I have had trouble with finding songs in general that have a sound that fits a highlight video that also aren't blocked by youtube because of copyright.

The two videos that really made me want to start doing my own were Jordy Nelson with the song by Queen-can't stop me now and Jacob Hester - a little less conversation by Elvis and to a lesser extent Abram Booty with Foo Fighters, the hero song.

I would love suggestions for songs that would fit well with a highlight video, stuff like I just mentioned that really grabs your attention, pop, alternative etc. I will try to use them, if they aren't muted because of copyright. Sometimes I keep remaking a video with a new song and it keeps getting muted to where i just say screw it and put something random on there, there are a few that have music from another highlight video, the problem is there is game audio in part of it, this was the case for the Brian Hartline video, it was from a JJ Reddick video.

I have looked at videos of other prospects and its pretty much all hip hop, except for a few, which is usually the same song like that one, I think its called requiem for a dream. So I would love suggestions. The problem with using another song for the same video is that it could be used for another prospect, although with Burkhead I could delete it if the song is good, but there has been a good amount of views for the first few days, but maybe that was you guys, if you are copying and pasting the youtube link in another window, because there were only a few views from Castefootball. Don't worry, not all of them are going to be hip hop, I like to enjoy the videos I make too, and the songs are a little harsh with the vocals.

Maybe a good idea is to upload a second one with a song that has already been used in one of my videos or another popular video of a White player, since I don't like reusing songs, so it would just be for you guys and wouldn't have to worry about wasting a song that could be used for another prospect.

Enjoyed the Burkhead video. I'd love to see one of stud RB Jordan Roberts, Brandon Kauffman, McGuffie, and FS Ben Ericksen from SIU.

I added Ryan Swope to my videos, I started out editing each game but found it easier to edit out a longer version of someone elses who had a bunch of 10 yard passes in it that weren't special, hope you guys enjoy the music on this one.

Sorry I haven't been able to make as many as usual, I am hoping to find time, I am actually in a semi pro football league right now that is taking up most of my spare time, besides family. You appreciate the game a lot more when you play it again, I forgot how hard it can be after almost a decade off.

Thanks

This is Conner Vernon, people are sleeping on him because of his 40 time but he looks to be fast on the field, Id say his floor is a solid number 2 at the worst but he could be a productive number 1 receiver. He can beat his man one on one, beat double teams, can find the soft spots in zone coverage, gets yards after the catch, great skillset, can be a physical receiver

The video could have been at least 5 minutes longer, he has so many 10 to 20 yard catches, even left out about 5 30 and 40 yarders because the computer had a problem with the files. There was one that I really wish would have gotten there, a 23 yard catch where he drags a guy for about 6 to 7 yards, I believe there was another guy on him as well that he was dragging. There were also big plays from his freshman and sophomore seasons that I just didn't have, like 2 50+ yard catches and 2 70+ yard catches and several 30+ yard catches as well.

Kyle Juszczyk fullback/te, basically h-back

whoever said this guy could be a rb in a fair league was right, he has the frame, size and speed to do it. He ran a 4.62 at his pro day but somehow that has been changed by some sites to 4.71, some even have it at 4.77. He only had 2 rush attempts but you can see by some of his moves that he has the ability to cut. Most of his time was split out wide as a receiver.

all the top tight ends appear to be White, although he is considered a fullback I think he could play te as well. He is a little over 6'1, in between 6'1 and 6'2.

Sam McGuffie Wide Receiver with 4.3 speed

Most will try to project him to the slot but he looks like he can become a legit number 1 receiver

some big plays missing like a 50 yard td run, 88 yard td catch, amazing when you look at the team highlights its not even on there. I think if he were put at WVU he would have produced better than Tavon Austin. Rice had a grab bag offense, and wound up being good at nothing, and when he started at tailback they had 4 different quarterbacks starting any given week, watching the games the line just got no push, he has some power but he isn't close to being a powerback. I would like to see him in a hybrid role but starting as an outside receiver would be great too. Lets hope he gets the chance.

Safety from Oregon John Boyett. This guy is a hard hitter and great in coverage. In his workouts it looks like he has come back from his injuries but I am sure teams won't look at it the same way as someone like Marcus Lattimore who is coming back from more serious injuries and isn't at the same level of coming back as Boyett, at a position where the knees are really important.

Man, I know I haven't been on top of the videos this year, but it seems like fans already have videos of White prospects, thats a very good thing. John Boyett had some videos but none of them had everything, one had some from his 2010 season and another from his 2011.

Margus Hunt is a beast,

here is another one, Cooper Taylor, safety that is 6'5 228 pounds yet still ran a 4.49 and has the agility to flip his hips to cover very well. Should be able to shut down some of these newer tight ends that are coming out.
