it looks like CBS Sports has trotted out the first, of what is sure to be many, midseason All-American teams. and by "American," they mean black "Americans" team. on their starting 22, CBSS has a "whopping total" of 5 White players: (racially) offensive linemen Tyler Johnstone (Oregon), Jake Matthews (Texas A&M), and Gabe Ikard (Oklahoma), tight end Jace Amaro (Texas Tech) who is somehow not on the Mackey Award watch list, and (surprise!) the only White player on the defensive side of the ball safety Vinnie Sunseri (Alabama).

White players also earned the nod at kicker and punter.

as usual, there are several surprises, aside from Sunseri's (deserved but shocking inclusion). most notably, perhaps, is the naming of Marcus Mariota (Oregon) as the quarterback.

on the second team, evil Whitey did a bit better, placing 6 on offense: quarterback Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M), wide receiver Jared Abbrederis (Wisconsin), and offensive linemen Rob Havenstein (Wisconsin), Taylor Lewan (Michigan), Andrew Norwell (Ohio State), and Hroniss Grasu (Oregon), and 2 on defense: end Trent Murphy (Stanford) and linebacker Chris Borland (Wisconsin).

Whites again were the kicker and punter.

perhaps the most notable shock on the second team is the inclusion of Arizona State's epic failure of a defensive lineman Will Sutton.
