It's that time of year again..

Anaheim tied their series against Nashville. Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry each had a goal and 2 assists. Bobby Ryan had 2 goals (one an empty-net goal). Selanne also had a goal.

Nashville's - Shea Weber - scored his 2nd goal of the series.

Vancouver is up 2 games to none over Chicago. Daniel Sedin scored 2 goals last night. Jannik Hansen scored his 2nd goal of the series. Alex Edler rounded out the scoring with a goal.

Since other CF posters are interested in at least 3 other teams (Detroit, Pittsburgh and Washington), I won't be stepping on your territory. I know my place amongst the veterans in this section!

Game 3 of the Vancouver/Chicago series was EXCITING! Vancouver won, but Chicago had their chances in this hard-fought contest. Luongo made some sweet saves, breathtaking.

Bruins must win tonight. Thinking about what happened to the Caps last year and now the Bruins it shows how pointless much of the regular season is. All you get is "home advantage" in the play-offs.

p.k. subban in his three playoff games has 1 assist and is a -1 but seems to never leave the ice. not to mention the announcers go goo goo for him.

ray emery has a 3.02 gaa and is ranked 14 out of 18 goaltenders to play in the playoffs. he has the lowest gaa for any goalie with a playoff win.

I haven't been able to see any of the Penguins games yet, because Versus is showing almost all Western Conference games in this part of the country. Assuming they close out Tampa, most of their games should be shown here in the second round and beyond if they get that far, plus whatever NBC airs.

BTW, the Penguins have done an amazing job of transitioning from an offensive minded team to a defensive one in the wake of the injuries to Evgeni Malkin (out for the season) and Sidney Crosby (out since a concussion in early January). Marc-Andre Fleury has put a lot of his maddening inconsistency behind him this season and is finally looking deserving of being the first player taken back in the 2003 draft. My two faves may well meet in the finals - Canucks and Caps.

Hockey is probably the only major team sport where I can pledge loyalty to a team. In other sports, I support the team that is fairest to white athletes.

boston's defeat of montral was a great emotional turn-around.

the habs went up by one courtesy of subban's goal, which could have been the game winning goal. thank god the bruins came back to tie it in regulation. imagine the non-stop highlights of that nonsense.

the best part was that the bruin's game winner in overtime was due to a stupid line change by subban. he left the ice just as the bruins were breaking into the montreal zone. freeking moron. i loved it.

instead of hearing about subban's heroism, the end result is that PK cost them the game. predictably, the press isn't saying much about it.

in other news... ray emery continues to win and suck at the same time.

IMO, the huge postseason from Selanne overshadows Ray Emery. And, Nashville has Joel Ward and Jordon Tootoo.

It's been a high-powered series, and I like some of the athletes on both teams. At this point, Anaheim might be looked at as stronger because of Perry, Selanne, Getzlaf.. but Nashville can't be counted out. Should be an interesting finish.

The Ducks' announcers after the game trashed Nashville's goalie while praising Emery's performance. Uh, what team won? I could have sworn it was Nashville that scored in the final minute of regulation and then again less than two minutes into overtime.

Buffalo, trying to close-out Philly, is up 3-1 after the first period.

--Heading into the 3rd period, Buffalo is up 4-3. Go Buffalo!

Chicago forces Game 7!! You'd never see this kind of FIGHT and resolve from an NBA team..

The Chicago-Vancouver Game 7 is about as compelling a scenario as a hockey fan could hope to enjoy. The defending Stanley Cup champions, who backed into the playoffs as a number 8 seed, falling behind the best team in the regular season 0-3 in games and then winning three straight to be in a position to achieve one of the great comeback rarities in sports. Hopefully the game will meet expectations.

On a more discouraging note, I finally got to see my Penguins against Tampa in Game 6 tonight, and the Pens will have to be considered the underdogs at home now after losing Games 5 and 6 after taking a 3-1 lead in the series. They just aren't the same team without Crosby and Malkin, the two stars they are built around, but they have a lot of guts and moxy and maybe they can yet win the series.Edited by: Don Wassall

What the hell happened to Luongo? He might have been the best goalie going into the playoffs.

Now he appears clumsy, unsure of himself and confused (kinda like blacks trying to play QB or box at heavyweight).

Great job, Boston! I'm glad Chara is advancing and not Subban.

The Vancouver/ Chicago series was something else. It seemed Chicago was destined to keep chipping away at Vancouver's 3-0 series lead and launch a historic comeback. It kept happening all the way to that bad giveaway by Chicago in overtime of game 7 that led to the quick goal.

It's good to see a Canadian team as the top seed advancing and a threat to win the cup. I think the last Canadian team to win the cup goes all the way back to Montreal in 1993?Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins
