Jimmy Quinlin is someone who could be a good prospect in a few years. He is 25 years old, 185lbs and he made his debut a few month back winning by submission. Dispite his 1-0 record many talented fighters such as Joe Lauzon are saying he is the real deal. His MMA record is 1-0, but he is a World PanAmerican champion and is very well knownin the BJJ community, and on top of that is the fact that he is a very good striker.

Some guys I found off Sherdog.com

Ben Reiter-age 28 6'3 205 rec 4-0 pro. Reiter very interesting he was a talented heavyweight at Penn, so he's both smart and athletic. He was also a heavyweight in college and has now droped to 205.

Ed Carpenter- age 24 6'3 230 rec 5-1 pro 3-0 am. I have seen clips of him before and wasn't really impressed, but Carpenter is a Chicago native and trains at Midwest Martial arts, same place as the Guidas. On top of that his last fight he defeated MMA vet Miodrag Petkoiv(31-18) in a first round submission, that is not an easy task.

Adam Mcdonough- age 26 5'11 175 rec 8-0 pro and 2-0 am. I don't know much about this kid but in his last match he koed vet Matt Delanoit, and has 4 tkos and 3 subs.

Daniel Madrid- age 27 6'3 165 rec 7-2. Madrid is a very gifted Wrestler/BJJ technician who trains at Gracie Fighting Systems, and has fought at M-1. He was very impressive in his last fight submitting Tom Galliccio in just 48 seconds.

Kevin Nowaczyk- age 22 6'2 170 rec 9-1. Of the guys on the list I think he is the one with the most potential, He's a tough Polish kid from Chicago and has great BJJ and has won 6 of his fights by submission. In his last fight he defeat TUF prospect Daniel Head by RNC in the third round.

Cameron Diffley just defeated MMA vet and BJJ Black Belt Sidney Silva(8-3) by 1st round submission armbar, to improve his record to 3-0 as a pro. Diffley is Frank Mir's BJJ coach andis probably the best American BJJ coach around. All three of Diffley's victories have been first round submissions.

Over the weekend Jordan Rinaldi won again to improve his pro record to 5-0
I also have two more prospects
Justin Gaethje- He is 5'10 170 age 23 and has a record of 2-0 pro and 7-0 am. He is a former all-american at Northern Colorado and has been training at Greg Jacksons Grudge gym. He has two first round KOs in his last two fights, against good midlevel competition.
Josh Janousek- He is age 31 6'2 210 and has a record of 8-1. I was kind of hesitant to put him on here because he is 31 and he because he has only had one fight this year, but he has won his last six fights and he is currently the wrestling coach for Blackhouse, which has Anderson, Aldo, Bigfoot, Machida, and JDS. Janousek is the lone American. I don't know if Janousek will be the next Couture, an older champ or the next Daniel Puder, a guy with great talent but not very driven.

Incredible comeback as Chandler looked done in the 3rd round.

The future of MMA is very white indeed.

Two other guys I should mention are Trey Houston and Brett Cooper
Trey Houston improves to 8-0 as a pro as he defeats Cleburn Walker(9-7) by tko in round number 2. He trains with legendary trainer Pat Militech and Has great KO poer and good wrestling.

Brett Cooper who coutinues to make a name for himself at Bellator won a great fight today agianst Jared Hess. Cooper is only 24 years old and he currently trains at kings MMA, His record is 17-7, but should be 17-6 because I thoght as well as most people that he won his fight against Steve Carl. Cooper though is someone who went right into MMA and has faced some very tough competition, He did a great job against Alexander Shlemenko, and I expect big things from him in the next few years.

Jonas Billstien destroyed Herbert Goodman at Bellator but was DQed for a soccor kick in which Goodman never recovered. It's the same thing that happened in the Dave Herman/ Sokoujo fight.

19-year-old Polish lightweight Marcin Held got a win over a very good Philippe Nover last night in Bellator. Held's only real loss was to Chandler earlier this year (no shame in that).

I thought Nover deserved the decision but that is MMA for ya. Enough of our guys got screwed that I will shed no tears for a close loss.

Held is solid all-around but relies mainly on submissions. He could use some help on his standup and wrestling but he has time if he falls in with the right camp.

I like Held but I thought he should have lost that fight to Nover. I actually scored it 30-27 for Nover. Held is going have a lot of trouble against wrestlers, pulling guard is a bad move.

Yeah I just watched a fight the other day where a white guy spent the first two rounds pounding away at this mexican guy. Then in the last two minutes of the final round the mexican guy got him in an akward postition were neither one of them was doing anything, the ref waited until the last thirty seconds to stand them up and as a result the white guy failed to get another takedown. The gave the mexican guy a BS decision.

The submision game works really well in the "minor league" circuits and against the lower level UFC guys. But against the elite it rarely works as wrestling and striking almost always overcome BJJ if the other guy has solid BJJ defense (as all the elite fighters do).

That being said, Held has decent striking and is only 19. Much will depend on his improvement in striking and wrasslin'.

Gregor Gillespie is expected to make his mma debut in early 2012. Gillespie was a four time All-American and won a National Championship in 2007 for Edinboro at the 157 weight class, the same school Josh Koscheck went to. Gillespie's college record was 152-13. Gillespie later went on to coach at Hofsta. He is 5'9 165 and is 27 years old.

Justin Gaethje defeated Donnie Bell to improve his pro record to 3-0.

also another new fighter to look out for is Sean Strickland
Strickland is only 20 years old he's 6'0 185, and tonight he made history by defeating Aflete Brandon Hunt(8-3) by ground and pound in the first round of the King of the Cage title match and becoming their youngest 185lb champ. Hunt had defended his title sucessfully four fights in a row. Strickland improves his record to 9-0 as a pro, and the more surprising thing is that Strickland fights out of a small camp. King of the Cage helped produce another great prospect in 21 year old Tyler East, who I expect will be in UFC next year.
