Well after a 10-2 start, things aren't looking very peachy at halftime. [IMG]

I thought Cornell played pretty good "D", but they are absolutely rattled and totally out of sync on offense.

damn. Cornell can't knock down a shot, not even open ones. and their point guard is throwing passes that are so off the mark it looks like he went to a JaMarcus Russell quarterback camp.

hard to win when you're playing like that.

that being said, Cornell's defense is playing great. if only they'd quit killing themselves on offense.Edited by: Jimmy Chitwood

Cornell is showing alot of heart in the second half. They're keeping it close. Kentucky's lead is down to 6 now!!< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" =""><div id="ref"></div>

regardless of the final score, i'm proud as i can be of Cornell. it just wasn't their night.

on a slightly different note, is their a bigger negrophile than Jay Bilas? jeez. the guy should just get down on his knees in the KY locker room after the game.

when Foote committed a hard foul on Cousins, then tried to keep him from falling down, i thought Bilas was going to lose it. "THat's gotta be an intentional foul! It has to be!" i'm like, chill out, dude. Foote was clearly trying to foul, but he was also clearly trying to keep Cousins from hitting the floor.

Bilas should be the brand name for an industrial-strength douche.

light-skinned homeboy, Lenny Elmore is almost as bad. he whines like a life-sized Barrack Obama doll.Edited by: Jimmy Chitwood

Well the 3's just weren't falling down for Cornell tonight. They fought back in the second half and didn't give up. Hpwever, after all of the fouling in the last few minutes the final score resembled a blow out.

Well there's still three predominately White teams left in the South region (Duke, Purdue, and Saint Mary's). Hopefully, they'll beat the winner of WVU/Kentucky in the Final Four.

Once again CBS had what can only be described as big time manlove for Kansas State coach Frank Martin. I can't recall a head coach in any sport getting the camera time this guy does.

I did a quick search and did come up with one clue. Apparently he qualifies as a "minority" in the eyes of the Cultural Marxist media. From Wikipedia: Martin, who grew up in Miami, Florida, is the son of Cuban immigrants and the first American-born member of his family.[1][2] He graduated with a bachelor's degree in physical education from Florida International University in 1993.[3] One of the two jobs he held while attending FIU was that of a bouncer at a local nightclub. He decided to become a full-time basketball coach in 1992 as a result of an incident in which he was subjected to gunfire, while on duty, from a group of men whom he had ejected for fighting.[2]

Anyone else have any explanations for his Tiger Woods-like reverentialtreatment?Edited by: Don Wassall

Well, I got to see all of 5 minutes of the Kentucky - Cornell game 'cuz we got the K-State - Xavier game where I live, so I will have to take your word for it that Bilas was a douche tonight. BUT, to his credit he did have Cornell beating Kentucky AND going to the Final Four in his bracket when they were doing the NCAA selection show, so Bilas had to have liked Cornell quite a bit to make a pick like that.

Is it shocking if Kentucky did have "more athleticism/length" than Cornell?

Personally, I wanted to see a Wisconsin/Kentucky match-up. I think it's possible that Wisconsin could have played "the game of their lives."

But, if a good-sized Wisconsin team got "thumped" by KU - then the media could have "bragged"... but I don't think they're really going to "rub-in" the fact that Cornell lost.. to a #1 seed.
    ______

Onto Butler: Did anyone hear the black commentator doing "his thing".. talking-up blacks, past and present, like all-black Texas Western beating all-White Kentucky? He did that after they showed Pat Riley in the crowd. And, right before Butler made their run at the end, he was talking-up Syracuse' athleticism! I wish I taped it!

I don't deny that Syracuse (Baylor, Ohio State) have some talent, but he was doing his "black thang" - thinking he's all cool and sheeet. [IMG]

Deadlift, that commentator was Lenny Elmore. see my above post for what i think of him. [IMG]

in the Butler - Syracuse game, only 4 White athletes stepped on the floor ... 3 for Butler (Hayward, Howard, and Hahn) and 1 for Syracuse (Rautins). "somehow" the best 3 players on the court (Hayward, Howard, Rautins) came from this over-achieving, hustling, heady, gutsy, blue collar, gym rat quartet.

just how does that happen anyhow? and wouldn't you think the coaches would go after more players like that? they would if the notion that talent matters ...

By the end of this weekend we could have three out of four teams in the Final Four heavily represented by whites. The best possible scenario for us is a Final Four featuring Duke as the lone #1seed, WVU, Butler and Northern Iowa. The other scenario would be St. Mary's getting by Baylor and Duke to get into the Final Four.

[IMG] I actually met Bilas (when he was at Duke). I was up there for Coach K's basketball camp (circa 1986). He seemed like a nice fella (at the time), but knowing how MSM pro-caste sports are these days, I'm not surprised he's a negrophile. Although I was a UGA Dawgs fan from the time I was a tyke (until a few season ago [IMG] ), I have been a Duke hoops fan since the mid 80s. One of my good buddies (also a UGA fan) used to get so PO'd cause I'd pull for Duke (whom he hated...as a DWF). I don't follow Duke (or basketball) as much these days, but I'm pulling for them to win the tourney.[IMG]

Northern Iowa can and I predict will win tonight. I also am very confident of a Duke victory and think St. Mary's will get by Baylor. That's not just wishful thinking, It's going to be a good night for white basketball, after all it's already been a pretty good tournament for whites.

CONGRATS to Butler! I hope they can get the "W" tommorrow and KNOCK-OUT "Georgetown West"...uh I mean Kansas State......You could tell the young Butler team was gonna be good afterlast year( being eliminated in 1st round)

My Duke-Northern Iowa Championship is still alive! Wasn't very realistic at first...Michigan State had better bring their "A" game...

    St.Mary's- Baylor is a very interesting match-up!

Saint Mary's got blown out by Baylor 72-49.

Northern Iowa leads Michigan St 29-22 at the half.

Duke's currently down by two with a few minutes left in the first half.

Duke advances with a strong second half...winning 70-57...will face Baylor who played their best game of the year vs StMary's

Unfortunately Michigan State came back in the 2nd half; Northern Iowa was tooth-n-nail..only down by 2 with 2:21 left...lost by7...59-52

Thanks for the updates everyone! It helps me out quite a bit, as I still haven't had time to sit down and watch a game.

The results yesterday are hardly surprising. Once again, the whiter teams are being weeded out, and we're likely headed for yet another coal black final four. Here's a link to a mainstream article discussing this very issue:

    http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2009-04-03/sports/ncaarace03_1_goran-suton-black-and-white-college-basketball

Thinking back all the way to the 1960s, when UCLA made the tournament a bore every year, teams with more blacks tended to end up in the final four even then. I can only think of a few truly white friendly teams that have ended up in the final four since the 1970s. By "white friendly," I mean 3 or more white starters and some reserves as well. Providence made it in '74, I think, when Ernie DiGregorio was there, Penn made it in '79, the Larry Bird-led Indiana State also in '79 (probably one of the whitest final fours in the modern era), Notre Dame made it in '78 (although that might have been during Digger Phelps' darker era, when the university clearly lowered their standards to allow Adrian Dantley and co. in).

I really hope Duke can somehow win it all, but I don't have much faith in that. If the history of the past 15 years of so is any indication, it just won't happen. Butler would be okay, but they only play 3 whites now. All the others would be a disaster. My three least favorite teams are strong candidates to win it all: Kentucky, coal black with corrupt mobster Calipari at the helm; Tennessee, with the odious Bruce Pearl and his perpetual coal black squad (with the single exception of his son, who is apparently the only white player good enough to ever play for him, albeit it in a minor reserve role) and Kansas State, with the jock sniffer's new favorite manlove, the super annoying "tough guy" coach Frank Martin and his cast of all black affletes.

    Please, Duke- win!

We still got Duke and Butler. Northern Iowa fought tooth and nail and had it's chances but St. Mary's didn't bother showing up.

If I'm not mistaken, you have admitted that you don't watch much basketball these days. In this thread alone, it seems that some posters have underestimated, and even felt the need to almost insult, black teams' that have shown talent and skill ALL SEASON. I can't take that talent away from them, nor will I try to deny that they have ability - because I'll just end-up sounding insecure and foolish when the whole world can see their clutch play and preparedness. That should be lauded because.... Look, Duke almost F-ed up, and was it the refs' fault????? Duke played like "clumsy crackas" for a good stretch of the game, and I was just left shaking my head! I blame Coack K for holding-back his team's athleticism at times, and making them look like inferior White boys, that somehow can't push the court-pace. What say you??

I can ASSURE you that Kansas State and Baylor have TALENT, and have displayed it all year. They are also insanely "clutch" teams (think the Xavier/K-State NCAA game)... I don't think games can be "rigged" to "guarantee" 3-pointers (made) by Pullen and Clemente, etc. West Virginia's Da'Sean Butler has hit clutch-shots all year as well. I give credit where it's due.

Yes, Michigan State was beatable, but White kids' NOT sticking together to add the MUCH NEEDED depth to programs like Northern Iowa and Butler, is the PROBLEM. These Big 10 and Big 12 teams' will usually, no surprise, have more depth.

Yes, Tennessee is pretty much a tatted-up prison team, and all the Orange DWFs in the crowd are absolutely brain-dead and loathesome. Those creeps - that are posing as basketball players - will probably largely fail in the NBA and then become addicted to crack cocaine.

The reality is... some of the lower-seeded teams' don't have as much depth, so there's always (what I call) a DANGER in the brackets being "BUSTED"... I support some of the "underdog" wins like St. Mary's over Villanova, but I didn't like Cornell's win over Wisconsin. Each of us needs to really grasp the situation, and recognize the predicaments that may represent a double-edged sword.

Butler's up 27-20 at half. They are playing shut down D and their white players (Smith, Hayward and Howard) are making good contributions. K State's legs look tired and they haven't been able to finish shots or run as much as they'd like.

Outside of Kentucky I think Duke can win it all.
Three good scorers and some good big men like Zoubek and Plumlee's.
if anyone can stop Cousins it is Zoubek. For Duke to win it all they need to get the big guys invovled more and get Singler to drive to the basket.

I haven't watched much so far, but I did watch UNI lose and the few blurbs of the Saint Mary's loss. I thought UNI had something going with the blond big man (forgot his name) in the first half. In a defensive battle like that one a post player who can consistently get decent shots or draw double teams makes the offensive game easier. UNI seemed to go away from the 7-footer in the second half. The refs weren't out of control one-sided like most black vs. white match-ups - though there were a couple of calls at the end of the game that made me yell at the TV screen. Other than that, they just didn't quite have enough in that game (missed free throws, and couple of clutch shots by baylor).

The only game of Saint Mary's I watched was their lose. Does Saint Mary's always play such a "slow-down" game? This is the classic way white teams seem to approach black teams that are "so obviously" more athletic then them. It's a loser's way to play. The defensive is more intense in these tournaments and I saw Saint Mary's guys passing up open mid range jumpers for no other purpose than to run down the clock. It's a stupid strategy. The other team can crash the offensive boards with no worry of ever having to defend a fast break. My opinion is that often white teams are coached to suddenly play the slow-down game against blacks. Dumb and ineffective.

So why do white teams so very rarely make it to the final four? Well besides the obvious refing difference, there aren't that many white teams in the tournament to start with. Then you have the fact that most of them have come from smaller programs in lower conferences - their rankings are usually much lower on average. A lot of the best white players out of high school end up warming the bench on some Major DI teams.
