Wofford was one of the best and whitest teams in the FCS last year. They lost RB Dane Romero to graduation, and have a black listed as a starter at one of their Halfback positions, but they still have some really good white runners. I couldn't help but be amused by the "blunt-sharp" connection at LB. With 19 whites as possible starters, this will be another team to keep your eyes on this year.

Offense
QB Mitch Allen or Robby Davis
HB Alex Dunmire
FB Eric Breitenstein
WR Justice Joslin
TE Johnson Richardson
LT Matt Vick
LG Pat Illig
C Trey Johnson
RG Nate Page or Ben Wilmoth
RT Clark Bishop

Defense
RDE Mitch Clark
NT Eric Eberhardt
LDE Alex Goltry
OLB Gary Blount
ILB Jonathon Sharpe
ILB Mike Niam
LCB Jordan Ingman-in a fight for the position
SS Hunter Hobson-in a fight for the position
FS Tommy Irvin

Wofford College has expanded its football horizons quite a bit over the last
two decades. Prior to 1988, they were an NAIA team. From 88-95 they
were NCAA Division II. They joined the NCAA Division I-AA Southern
Conference in 1996 and are the smallest school that sponsors a D-1
football team. It being a private college, the enrollment there is just 1,350! Its nice to see a
school stay true to itself as long as Wofford has. Lets hope they
continue to do so!

WP, any FCS school can play DII teams in non-conference games. DII schools even play DIII schools sometimes. Its just like FBS schools routinely playing FCS schools out of conference. I thought that was fairly common knowledge.

WP, exactly which non-Division 1 schools is Wofford playing this year? I don't see any on their 09' schedule.

Appalachian State, Elon, Georgia Southern and Samford are Division IAA-the lower Division I level or FCS- I don't know about the others you posted.

I know but they don't play a true D1 schedule I am not knocking them I will root for them trust me however I wish they played better competition against mostly black bigger name schools because it would bode well for our cause.

White Power, I guarantee you that those schools are all FCS just like Wofford is.

Even though Wofford isn't playing any this year, what I said about FCS teams playing D2 teams is true. I know because I've been to two of them. Twice I saw Mississippi Valley State (FCS) versus Delta State (DII).

White Power, you do realize that there are two divisions within Division 1 football, right? FBS is what used to be called 1-A, and FCS is what used to be called 1-AA. An FCS school who chooses not to play any Division 2 teams is playing a Division 1 schedule. That is what Wofford is doing this year. Here's their schedule to prove it. Their non-conference schedule includes South Florida (FBS), Wisconsin (FBS), and Charleston Southern (FCS). You'd have a tough time scheduling a tougher slate of games than this. As a FCS team, they have a tough, all Division 1 schedule. Try doing a little research next time before making such claims.
