The Bucs should be applauded for being pioneers.  They have to be the first team in NFL history with 3 black qb's on the roster.  They have three fine affletes to choose from and all of them suck.  Great job Raheem Morris.

Looks like Danny Woodhead didn't get on the field today unless he played special teams.

He'll get his hands on the ball though. his time is coming. We must be patient.

What a tough way to make a living. "Da Man, he be working us to deaf." From rotoworld:

The Bucs have practiced for just 2 1/2 hours since their loss to the Patriots on Oct. 25.

<DIV =s_pNewsTextMain>Even though they are 0-7 and ready to trot out a rookie quarterback, the Bucs didn't feel the need to practice during the bye week. Josh Freeman went back to his hometown of Kansas City last Thursday and the team will meet again on Tuesday. That doesn't seem like ideal preparation for his first NFL start against the Packers on Sunday.

yeah i saw that and laughed out loud. i mean, why practice if you so clearly have this sh*t DOWN! Bucs are more than pathetic this season and i am sure it's going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.

good news from Bucs camp, an almost entirely black team on offense will have another white defender more involved in addition to three starters:

(from rotoworld)

Bucs backup S Will Allen will need surgery on his broken right thumb and is out indefinitely.

Allen was a special teamer and the Bucs' third safety, a role that will now be filled by "Hard Knocks" hero Corey Lynch. Allen is a candidate for injured reserve.

I saw this game. Tampa Bay is a very badly coached team. I don't think the QB is very good, but he might be better than he showed yesterday. It's just not reasonable to put Freeman down on that showing. It's obviously too badly a coached team. I don't think Freeman has much to offer, but let's try to be reasonable about this. It's the coaching.

If I were the GM, I'd get rid of R. Morris this week/today. Actually, it should've been done earlier in the year. This guy's no coach.

The Bucs and the Rams are absolutely atrocious. I feel bad for the rookie qb Null who threw 5 picks yesterday on the Rams.

Who was the fourth one besides the three usual White starters?

It looks like it will be back to the bench for whitey again next year. It looks like Sabby is to blame for the Buccaneer's 3-13 season.

From Rotoworld:
The Bucs are expected to find a replacement for SS Sabby Piscitelli this offseason.

And no, bringing back Jermaine Phillips again isn't a solution. Piscitelli didn't approach expectations as a playmaker or run stuffer and was exploited in coverage. He figures to resume focusing on special teams next season.

A solid season results in the bench.

well said, wa33.

the idea that Sabby, who was 4th on the team in tackles, is the guy who needs to be benched is ridiculous on its face.

Amazing isn't it? I don't know how things like this can be taken seriously. I didn't watch more than a tiny bit of any Buccaneers game all season, but it doesn't take a genius or someone who has poured over film to realize that when your team can't score, can't throw the ball, is near the bottom of pack in rushing and can't even stop the run seemingly at all (Dead last in the league in rushing defense) to imply that the weak link on your team is a SS who had 80 tackles is just simply ridiculous. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT A GUY WHO PLAYED HIS FIRST FULL SEASON AS A STARTER! You don't get to dead last in the league in anything without a complete systemic breakdown that starts with the coaching. They always talk about systemic racism in America keeping the po old black man down, but this is a glaring example of the REAL, vicious, systemic racism (not the racism in the mind of race hustlers like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who cry foul anytime blacks aren't given preferential treatment) that some non blacks, especially whites face in the NFL. They might as well stand the Buccaneers affirmative action hire coach up the podium in a pimp suit while he says "take dat whitey HAHAHA!"Edited by: Bear Backer

The only thing I'd add is to take it with a grain of salt or two. The vast majority of these off-season blurbs (and it's already offseason for the hapless Bucs) are misinformation, disinformation, fluff and filler. I remember in particular reading the offseason team reports in The Sporting News, which would often contradict each other from week to week on the prospects of different players. Obviously someone in the organization, or perhaps some writers, or a combination thereof, don't like Piscatelli, who was reviled by the media and DWFs right from the first game of the season after he made the often fatal mistake by a White DB of not having the perfect angle on a tackle opportunity. There's a good chance he will get screwed, but it's a long way between now and the start of the 2010 season.

I had Sabby on my CF (Lambert) Fantasy team and he was one of my best defensive players. The blame for the Tampa Gay Sucaqueers terrible season lies far away from Sabby.

In a fair league Sabby could even be playing cornerback. He definitely has the speed and athletic ability for the position. He's one of the better safeties in the league and I think he will continue to be a starter whether it's for the Bucs or some other team. Even Sports Illustrated, which is incredibly biased towards white athletes in their draft profiles, had this to say about him.

"Offering outstanding size/speed numbers, Piscitelli has the measurables
to be a first-round choice yet seems capable of much more on the field.
Will generate a wide variety of opinions with most thinking he must
turn up the intensity to have an NFL career".

Piscatellihas a rare size/speed combination. Even if he struggled somewhat in his first season as a starter, the normal reactionshould be to acknowledge his strengths along with the areas he needs to improve in. You would think the DWFs in Tampa would take to him as a "John Lynch type" but the media and DWFs have picked on Piscatelli from Day One. Hopefully the collective wisdom of the coaching staff will result in Sabby being given proper time to develop, but from the way "Raheem" ran the team this year, anything could happen.

He sure does Don. The problem right now is that until the racial dynamics of the league change dramatically white players will be subject to intense scrutiny at all times especially on defense. It's very easy to blame a teams defensive woes on the lone white guy on the team or in Sabby's case two. The media and DWF's will not remember that the teams sumo defensive tackles and defensive ends got absolutely to pressure on the quarterback all game or that the black linebackers got juked out of their pants muliple time by running backs which gave the other team critical first downs. God forbid the lone white safety on the team misses a tackle a loss will be blamed solely on him. We all remember how Donovan McNabb whined like a little b--ch a few years go about how tough black quarterbacks have it. That is so far from the truth. White defensive backs have it the hardest in the league and are under a microscope every single game. They are so rare that it's almost impossible to have two white starting safties on a team today. I think the Jets started Eric Smith and Jim Leonhard a few games this year but the last game afflete Kerry Rhoades already had his job back and Smith was on the bench.

Piscatelli is likely headed to the bench and now Hovan looks to be gone. Barrett Ruud and maybe 1 o-lineman as the only white starters on the Blackaneers this year?

The Bucs will release DT Chris Hovan today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. As expected. The Bucs took Gerald McCoy and Brian Price in the first two round of the draft, making Hovan expendable. Hovan, who turns 32 next month, still has enough left to latch on somewhere else as a rotational run-stopper. He just wasn't worth $4 million to the Bucs.

Im hoping Jevan Snead shows improvement during mini camp and during training camp. He is 10 times more talented than Josh Freeman.
