Very funny that Kiper was just talking about how stiff Schmitt was, and right as he said that, a clip of Schmitt jumping over a defender. Pretty good "ups" for a guy that big.

Next should be Hillis turn.Edited by: Sean

From ESPN's "Draft Tracker" on 3rd round picks. Anyone else see a pattern?

Jacob Hester: In our opinion, Hester is a bit of a reach because he doesn't have elite skills and lacks ideal size, speed and athleticism. Hester, however, is a far better football player than athlete.

Dan Connor: Connor doesn't have elite athletic ability and has problems matching up in man coverage, so he's probably a better fit on the inside.

Tom Zbikowski: Zbikowski is overaggressive at times and he lacks the hip fluidity to recover when he gets caught too close to the line of scrimmage.

Brad Cottam: He doesn't show great athletic ability as a pass-catcher. However, he has the size to develop into an excellent in-line blocker and has the strong hands to develop into a reliable possession receiver.

Seattle was in great need of a short yardage back last year. Owen is a good fit here, as all Seattle has done to improve the team's power running game this offseason has been to sign TJ Duckett.

Even white linemen suffer from the dreaded tight hips syndrome according to the experts. From nfldraftrivals.com about Roy Schuening, the Rams` 5th round selection:

"The Bad: At times he gets out of position by being overly aggressive and needs to play within himself to be effective. Schuening needs to improve his strength to handle the massive defensive tackles he will face as a pro. While capable of picking up stunts and blitzes,
he can be stiff in his hips and overall movement skills."

Van Slyke, Thomas Williams is black. He did look white in the photo I saw on the NFL Network.

Brian Cushing will hopefully be a first round white linebacker from USC chosen in the 2009 draft.

Cushing is one of my favorite USC players. He's a very athletic player too. It will be interesting on how un-athletic Kiper makes him sound next year.

Thanks, Stonewall. I tried the ol` eye test, but I thought maybe my eyes were deceiving me. But of course he`s black-he`s going to play for the Jags.

Well, at least the `Skins drafted Durant Brooks to punt the ball. Gotta get our quota of white kickers.

I feel confident in saying this is the blackest NFL draft ever.

Corey Lynch makes it 37. The Bengals did use Kaesviharn pretty well, hopefully they will use Lynch too. It's always a plus when a white DB is drafted.

In a round by round breakdown, it's going something like, 5 whites in RD 1, 6 in RD 2, 8 in RD 3, 9 in RD 4 (our best so far), and 7 in RD 5.

There are positives though. A lot of our really good players are going to places where they could see decent playing time. Several pretty good fits.

Of the "Big 4" teams which are relatively white friendly and successful, Green Bay, Indianapolis and San Diego have hadgood drafts, the Packers in particular. But New England has drafted just one white player out of six so far (QB Kevin O'Connell).
