The altitude is 992 meters, which I believe is 8 meters below the legal altitude limit. But it's still at a high altitude.
Look through the results, everyone (more than half of the runners) are setting PBs or SBs. It's ridiculous.
Look at Rowan Browning for example. Since he arrived in Europe, he hasn't broken 10.30! Today he ran 10.08.
These are not times that the runners can duplicate in their upcoming meets. Throw them out of your head.

In the three, Men's 100m finals... 24 sprinters.
12 of them set PBs.
7 of them set SBs
Only 4 runners didn't run a PB or SB.

In the women's 100m, 7 runners got a PB

In the Men's 200m...15 runners
5 PBs, 4 SBs

In the Women's 200m....13 sprinters
5 PBs, 2 SBs

Same thing in the hurdles. See for yourself
http://www.resisprint.ch/index.php/en/resultats/live

This is not an important meet. It's not the Olympics, or Championships, or Diamond League.
It's nothing that the athletes are peaking for.
So for there to be this many PBs and SBs tells us that something is off, even if they are recorded as legitimate.

Yes I recall athletes that didn't meet minimum standards would time chase them at meets with high altitude or hot conditions with weird weather patterns that could aid throws or times. Trieste used to be one of these meets in the mountains of Italy.

I will tell you what makes me angry. Germany ignores 2 of their top 4 sprinters. They sent alot of sprinters to Switzerland. Even onees that hadn't done anything all year long. Yet Germany continues to not
support either Julian Wagner or Kevin Kranz. It makes no sense. If nothing else but for the relay squad they need more races to hit their peak condition. Germany is going out of their way to support the
other guys that let's just say don't look german. Not that their not talented but they get preferential treatment. It's not even close how they are treated from what I've read.

If Julian Wagner was there today in Switzerland he potentially gets his first sub 10. Nothing to see here. Move right along. The Great Replacement all through Germany and Europe at the expense of the german people.

You're right WL!
And Julian Wagner would have run sub-10 at this meet if he was there.
Although I object to these 'enhanced' times, I still would like to see another sub-10 on the books regardless.

I must agree with jacknyc here. I've seen so many sprinters get a PB in Stade de La Charrière, La Chaux-de-Fonds over the years that I don't pay too much heed to their times there.
My guess is the track, as well as being near peak allowable altitude for record purposes get's some other advantages too. I don't pretend to know what - like that weird place in the Scottish highlands where cars can be turned off and apparently roll uphill?
(I do believe it would measure 100 metres though LOL)

I mentally add 1/10th second

Apparently the British Athletics federation (or whatever it's called) does not accept marks from Chaux-de-Fonds as standards for making their national teams.
That pretty much tells you that times from this meet are expected to be much better than they would be anywhere else.

I love track athletes that still enjoy the grind of training even after over a decade of competition. Ramil Guliyev has always been and will always be a champion. If only Lemaitre had his desire and work ethic. Guliyev
has been an inspiration to watch. Glad he is still not only giving it a go but running fast. He is a living legend.

A couple of other sprinters off the top of my head are Emile Erasmus and Andrew Robertson. Some times things get better with age! :)

well that's amazing. A formal and influential body calling BS on a meeting/venue. I wonder how they explain to their athletes that qualify there "we don't accept what the IAAF did accept"

He usually gets his timing right to peak on time. He knows his body

16 yr old Marek Zakrzeweski of Poland was the fastest qualifier at the European U18 Championships today.
His time was 10.29 with a wind of 2.2.
That's a great time for a 16 yr old regardless of the wind.
The next fastest time in the heats was 10.44 with 0.7 wind.

Tomorrow evening are the semis and the finals. I'm anxious to see what this kid does then.

Here are the heats from today. Go to the 7 minute mark for Marek's heat.

I almost posted about him last night when I saw the results. Glad to watch the races. Thanks for the upload. One thing I noticed was how little credit the announcers gave Marek. He destroyed everyone but they didn't seem impressed. As
usual it doesn't fit the narrative. The semi finals and finals are gonna be fun to watch. I'm excited as well.

Meanwhile Anihoa Reparaz of Spain, set a Championship Record in the girls 100m, with a time of 11.53.
Her previous best time was 11.89! She is definitely one to watch.

(I probably should have posted these results in the high school thread. Will do so going forward.)

yes, I saw that 16 year old Pol Marek Zakrzewski was easily the fastest qualifier in the European under 18 championships. Wind of +2.2 but still, 10.29 is a good time.

Chaux de Fonds in Switzerland often gives extraordinary times to sprinters - I noted the European top list this season include 6 female and 4 male 100m times in the top 30 ran their times there.
It will be interesting to check all these people's season bests in a few months to see if these Chaux de Fonds results stay as their bests

For me browning ...has to spend more time in the states racing and trading or Europe . as aussies have always peaked to early because of their national champs etc ...like shirvington in the past .....especially later in his career .....and props to c.j hall for plying his 400 m hurdle trade on the tour ....to be honest the world champs will be dominated by drug cheats ....but as said guliyev usually peaks well at champs ...and I think Brit 200m ( 20.23) athlete joe Ferguson might be good for a surprise .....and tortu at least semis .....tentoglu to win the long jump. ( what an athlete) ......not a white triple jumper in sight outside of germanies Hess. Long gone are the days of johnathan Edwards .......Edwards was a 10.2 100 meter man ...with a top speed of 42.35 kmph....and reached over 37 kmph on his acceralation phase over 44 meters when doing his WR in Gothenburg 95 ....
Have I forgotten anybody ....hhhmm .....relays ....kilty ,Erasmus ....and of course the Italians ......nobody else really stand out ...maybe Matthew boling will declare for Britain or Germany ....( no that would be Interesting, as rival fahnbullah will always have * a gimme * with Sierra Leone ......I still think many a white American should look for anther passport( grandparents etc) instead of trying to fight their way through the drugged broken system in the US ....I mean seriously Dennis Mitchell still works for the usatf...and coaches the daft cunt with so much **** on her when she races .....oh what’s her name ..any way nobody can tell me that she and her Jamaican female compatriot are not juicing ...same as le grande Tour de France .....all bikes ( ie the brisk for * hoes* ) ....

Actually the German Wagner could pb in the 100 meters ...reckon in Oregon he could go 10.0s ....this young man has a big upside and powerfully built ...and I do think he has to train 200 m ..strength for the 100 ....he seems to be able run consistent 10.1s ....what is disappointing is henrik larsons career path ...time for him to leave Sweden ....set up in the states / Britain .....as he will always have * a gimme* with Sweden in international COMP . At this stage the European champs are a more realistic target for euro athletes .....
Note ..although abby Steiner has proved how good she is , first major champs , competing against the dopers I think a medal would be an exceptional achievement ......
Great white sprinting genes in Kentucky ..anybody remember Casey combest ...( should be at least the world record holder over 60 meters )

It's gonna be a sad World Championship for most ot the European Sprinters who are not even gonna lineup in either the 100 or 200 meters for the men. I was glad to see though that Germany is
letting Julian Wagner run the 100 meters. Other than that we have Joe Ferguson and Adam Gemeli in the 200 meters for the United Kingdom. I think Guliyev is going but not sure as I haven't confirmed
it. Can Wagner handle the pressure? Time will tell but I know he is in good shape. Hoping he shines in the prime time! It's a huge opportunity for him.

On a bright not Australia is sending both Rohan Browning and Jake Doran in the individual 100 meters. This is great and what a step forward for Doran no matter how he does. I'm sure he will have lots of butterflys in his stomach.
Hope he is not too nervous where he just can't focus at all. As far as Browning it's hard to say what we will see. Hoping for the best.

Samuli Samuelsson just ran a new Finnish NR of 10.16, dont know the exact wind reading, but it is official so under 2.0 m/s. He ran in a 10.22 in the heats in Porvoo and bettered the time in finals to 10.16.

This is great news. Can we call him the Flying Finn Part II? That is a very fast time. If he can keep that type of form he could have a chance to make the 100 meters finals at the European Championships in August. It's great to see. Would like to see a video
of the race if anyone can find it? Thanks in advance.
