Josh Allen continues to beef up to ominous proportions. I just hope it doesn't hurt his elusiveness and speed when running, and that it doesn't make him start to get injured, ala what seemed to happen to Christian McCaffrey as over training can be as detrimental as under training.

Same with Herbert. Wilson can use the added muscle, this is an important season for him given how quickly White QBs, even highly drafted ones, are often written off as busts. The Jets have strengthened the offense around him and he's a quarterback I'll be watching closely and rooting for big-time this coming season.

In this video a former NFL scout compares Brock Purdy favorably to Trey Lance. Lance was drafted 3rd overall in 2021 and Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant in 2022.

Colt McCoy was drafted in 2010 by the Cleveland Browns. 12 years later he's still in the league, with the Arizona Cardinals.

He's had a good career.

For anybody keeping score, out of the 14 playoff teams 9 of the starting quarterbacks are White men. That's 64% but it could have been worse if Tua was starting. Next week there will be 8 teams remaining. Since both bye teams have a non-White QB, let's hope that the remaining 6 are White men. Lawrence, Purdy and either Jones or Cousins will be there and I hope they are joined by Burrow, Allen & Brady. Some great talents our people boast!

Joe Montana

Let's not forget how great Joe Montana was. In recent times, we talk about Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Drew Brees. Montana's magic should not fade with the passage of time. The video below just reminds me of his greatness.

Right Quiet Speed. Some still consider Montana the GOAT. ZERO interceptions and 11 TD's in four Super Bowl wins!

"Joe Cool" nickname should be reserved for the one and only. I know Joe Namath was cool, but in a different sort of way. Haha.

The NFL was far less stats oriented in the days of Montana and Namath and others going back to the beginning of the league, which causes older QBs with less than glittery stats and who played in shorter seasons to be overlooked in conversations about the all time greats. The only thing that used to count was winning and in particular winning big games, which is why Joe Montana will always be among the very best ever.

Yes, and that brings to mind my favorite QB, Roger Staubach. Second only to Tom Brady in all time winning percentage. Brady: .754.
Staubach: .746. He also won 2 Super bowls and played in 4.
Roger Staubach won the Heisman Trophy and graduated from Navy and then fulfilled his 4 year obligation before going to the NFL. He didn't become a full time starter until age 29 and went on to 4 Super Bowls.
He became the first player to win the Heisman, win the Super Bowl and become the SB MVP.
I'm probably wrong, but I consider him in the all time top 5!
To top it all off, I believe he's become the most successful NFL Player off the field with an estimated net worth of approximately $600 million dollars.
But more than anything Roger Staubach is a first class human being!

Former DII QB making a big push with his excellent play. Hopefully Bagent does beat out PJ Walker, who’s the definition of a quota if ever there was one.

Watched all his snaps from the game yesterday and he looked impressive considering the jump from D-2 to NFL. Won the D2 version of the Heisman. It's worth noting he had 2040 passing attempts during his college career so he has to be much more familiar with processing information, making reads, looking off receivers etc. (none of the stuff that seems to apply to quarterback scouting today). His production was impressive as well: 17k yards passing, 159 TDS (48 INTS on 2040 attempts - .023 INT percentage) I have to think that the more experience a QB has regardless of the level they play at has a bearing to some extent on projection to the next level. Not saying this is another potential Brock Purdy situation but it would be nice if he is able to finish the preseason strong next week to cement himself on the roster and if Fields fails to live up to the ridiculous hype see the fans start rooting for Bagent to replace him.

Great stats on the kid. He looks the part both athletically and mentally. I think this kid is a leader. Hope he makes 2nd string as he deserves
it so far. Good luck to him as we are all rooting for him!
