SMU 4-0...pretty impressive - some some palefaces flashing on defense too.

The TE position really seems to be stacked this year - Mayer for ND, Ferguson for Wisco, La Porta - Iowa, McBride - Colorado St. I can still remember back in the early-mid 2000s when they tried to wrestle the TE position away. It's good to see so many elite players at the position.

Yea I don't understand that philosophy. Recruit a spread QB, make him transition to play under center in a run heavy offense - odd recruiting choice by the Badgers and odd commitment choice by Mertz.
It seems like most highschools are all playing the spread/rpo offense which eliminates the Brady’s and Manning’s of the world and opens the door for more affletic qb’s.

I agree there is quite a bit of that but there are still QBs capable of playing in the Wisco offense out there. Mertz seems like a square peg in a round hole up in Madison thus far. You can also see Mertz's mechanics are not where they should be, makes me wonder what his work ethic is like. I don't mean to bash the kid but he's hurting the Badgers more than helping them at this point.

Mertz might just need a change in scenery. The system doesn't mesh well with him. It's hurting Wisconsin and also Mertz having any chance of playing on Sundays someday.

Clemson is struggling. They need a better quarterback in my honest opinion. Even Shipley only has 4 rushes for 9 yards. Not
looking good so far against NC State.

Clemson Safety Turner saves a TD by slapping the ball away from a State WR and then with the sack.

Yes , not looking good when NC State playing what looks to be a 3-4 and Shipley can't get any daylight. Something seems wrong with the OL. Bad OL and bad QB not good.

he’s had two separate inside zone runs go 50+, including a 57-yard touchdown. just imagine if he actually got meaningful carries on a regular basis ...

Outside of UGA the best defenses in the country have quite a few White athletes playing for them - Clemson, Iowa, Arkansas. Eager to see what Sparty's starting defense is vs Nebraska tonight as well.
