Stokely was super underrated, i always remember him best for that catch he had when he was on the broncos where he caught a tipped pass and ran down the field for the long TD

If wide receiver stats ( I follow TE stats too) ranks on top of my geek like obsession with football stats, the next stat that interests me most is sacks and TFLs. Much like the white wide receiver situation white rushers aren't off to a scintillating start. I would give the current white WR stat outlook a B-. As for the rushers I would give it a C+. So not total disasters but plenty of room for improvements.
Below is a run through the names topping the charts through seven weeks but keep in mind some teams have only played six games like the Chargers.
Kyler Fackrell-3 sacks, 7 TFLs. Having a solid season and is now a starter. Good thing he got out of Green Bay. Made two of the biggest splash plays by an edge player this year so far.
JJ Watt-3 sacks, 6 TFLs. HOF player is getting some form back.
Maxx Crosby-4 sacks, 6 TFLs. Up and down sophomore season for Maxx. Needs a bit more strength and endurance but he is a keeper.
Ryan Kerrigan-4 sacks, 5 TFLs. Kerrigan has barely played and the hope is here he is traded to a team where he can play more. Impressive stats from a part time player.
Trey Hendrickson-4.5 sacks, 6 TFLs. Another young promising talent finally earning more playing time. But I don't trust the Saints and fear they may reduce his playing time?
Joey Bosa-4.5 sacks, 8 TFLs. Joey has been banged up this year and missed some time too. One of my favorite players in the NFL. Buttery smooth.
TJ Watt-5.5 sacks, 13 TFLs. A one man wrecking machine. Amazing talent who keep getting better.

Between McConkey and Stokley was Joe Jurevicius, who was drafted in the second round in '98 but went the racial apprenticeship route his first three seasons before finally getting some decent use in '01 -- 51 catches for 706 yards. He ended up in Tampa the next year and was part of their Super Bowl winning team, before stints in Cleveland and Seattle. At 6'5" with good speed he was under utilized his entire career, with those 706 yards in '01 being his high water mark. That was the era when the Giants drafted tailback Sean Bennett and had Jason Sehorn at cornerback after he served a two-year racial apprenticeship at safety. But they quickly went back to Caste orthodoxy after that and have been one of the more reliably Caste teams since.
Going back a little further, the Giants drafted Ed McCaffrey in the third round in '91, but he too mostly served a racial apprenticeship in New York before going to Denver and finally becoming a starter in his sixth year in the league.

Joe J is indeed the missing link. I follow too many sports to remember a lot of details at times so his name didn't pop up in my head but I do recall him being with the Giants. TE Jeremy Shockey would come in and become a big pass catching weapon. Joe J was from Penn State which got me to thinking. It would take some detailed research that I'm not in the mood to pursue but it strikes me that white Power 5 wide receivers who have made it big in the NFL in recent times are somewhat scarce. The three best white WRs the past several years are Cooper Kupp ( Eastern Washington), Adam Thielen ( Minnesota State) and Julian Edelman ( Kent State). Two of these schools aren't even in the FBS.
Just a quick look through the list this year if you take two Clemson grads out of the equation the only Power 5 white wide receivers of note are veteran Amendola ( Texas Tech) and Berrios (Miami).
Even when Power 5 white wide receivers are chosen lately the results have been poor. Berrios ( Miami), who is barely hanging on, is the only Power 5 receiver to have survived out of the five chosen in 2017 and 2018. Ryan Switzer (NC) is on a PC now. Chad Henson (CA) looks to be finished? Did he ever start? Same goes with injury prone Dylan Cantrell (Texas Tech). And Austin Proehl (NC again) was last seen in the XFL.
It just seems that there are less star Power 5 white wide receivers coming through the ranks the past few years and that the receivers that are making some noise in the NFL mostly are from other schools. As expected CM won't play tonight. Not much to get excited about in this game. Rough stuff. Just a couple of players of interest on the Falcons.
Julian Edelman underwent knee surgery today and will miss this Sunday's game against the Bills and probably some more time. His knee has been bad from the start which is why his production is way down. Still on one leg his stat line is 21-315. One of the toughest players I have ever witnessed.
Maybe Gunner will get his chance? It would be neat if they called up Mason Kinsey.

I would also venture to say Edelman’s production is way down because Cam Newton can’t hit the broad side of a barn; simply put he is a terrible quarterback. He can run which obviously makes defenders think about that aspect and opens up the passing game... except now he is broken down and can’t really run anymore which means his inabilities are on full display.

Looks like Ben DeNucci will get the start for McCarthy's Cowboy's this week.

A day doesn't go by without some lousy news. Eagles LB Nate Gerry, coming off a sensational game, has been placed on IR and is expected to miss multiple games. Dealing with a nagging Achilles injury. The media however took pot shots on his way out the door anyway. Fiendish creeps.
The 49ers are poking at Ryan Kerrigan but rumors are his asking price in general might be too much. A sixth round draft pick is considered too high? Give me a break.
Keeping an eye on the Pats Mason Kinsey to see if he get called up. The Pats flop WR K Harry along with Edelman is out Sunday so it appears they will have to call up one or maybe two WRs from their practice squad. And the Giants could call up Alex Bachman again too. Who knows?

Would 37 year OLD Larry Fitzgerald get such disrespect? Fitzgerald is averaging a laughable 7.1 yards per catch on 29 catches. Edelman has 15.0 yards per catch on 21 catches.

Margus Hunt signs with the Bengals. Man I wish he could put it all together on the field... possibly the best athlete the league has seen in the decade or two.
As it is, he is stout against the run and sets the edge well. The Bengals would be wise to give him real playing time.
On another note, while reading about Hunt I read Anthony Zettel is on the Saints practice squad. Here is a guy who, in his second year in the league, posted 43 tackles and 6.5 sacks... and then then never so much as a sniff of real playing time as he has bounced around from team to team. You would think a team out there with scrub black linemen could use that production. Reminiscent of Jared Crick... productive - Not All Pro- but very good and then... poof they disappear.

The Crick-Zettel comparison is right on. At least Crick was an established starter for a while. Zettel being jettisoned from team to team despite his very good early production is a real head scratcher even for the Caste NFL.
Hunt turned out to be what we often say of hyped black players, an underachiever. A decent player but the productivity didn't match what his athleticism seemed to promise. He was drafted at age 26 and is now 33, so it's highly likely he's in the twilight of his career.

Hunt has been a bit of a disappointment. His athletic measurables are elite but was never able to put it together. He was late to the game of football and if my memory serves me correctly had a knack for blocking kicks during his college days at SMU. Zettel on the other hand could easily be a starter on any team - a solid starter who could get 7-8 sacks a year and be counted on in rush defense yet he is rotting on a practice squad.

Given Nagy's obvious opinion of Nall it might not even take that. He could probably be had for a deal like swapping 7th round picks and the clueless Bears would feel they fleeced New York.

I dont know what Sean McDermott and the Buffallo media are talking about in terms of Trent Murphy's poor performance. According to the almighty PFF, he has a rating of 75.6 which is indictive of a very good starting player and borderline pro bowler. It begs the question then, is PFF's grading system legitimate or not?

If you like constant bad news and ominous vibes well this world is tailor made for that. Coming off their game of the year where two white defenders played huge roles the Steelers are hot on the trail of a Jets black LB. What does that mean for Robert Spillane who tore it up yesterday. Fill in the blanks. We will have to wait and see how that works out.
More on the ominous front WR Adam Humphries suffered a concussion from a skull shot that was ( get this) not called on the field. His status is in question for next week but head injuries are a tricky thing as they are always an ongoing concern. Adam had a zero catch day and had already missed a game due to COVID. He was well on his way to a banner year and now that trajectory has been completely sideswiped.
Also TE George Kittle suffered an ankle injury and left his game. It wasn't a fracture but who knows if he will miss more time. He has already missed time this year. They have a quick turn around game with the Packers this Thursday.
Overall on the receiving end this week it was a downward mixed bag. Cooper Kupp went over 100 yards but that was on 21 targets. Although reports from the staff here assure me most all of the misses were uncatchable balls. And Goff was flinging to avoid rushes. We will see if the Rams down throttle on him going forward since they lost the game? I hope not. But it was a big down week for several key wide receivers. A few TEs (Hockenson, Packers duo) had decent games though. And Amendola is quietly having a very productive year on limited snaps.
You like dink and dunk? I thought not. Well WR Braxton Berrios gives new meaning to the term with a stat line of 8-34. This is the type of offensive scheme that carried Ryan Switzer out of the league.
Best news of the day was TE Travis Kelce who had his best day yet this year with a 9-108-1 stat line. Already the only TE to pass 1,000 yards in four consecutive seasons he is sitting on a 48-610-6 stat line through the half way mark this year. It would be amazing if he climbs over a grand for five consecutive years! I would love that. To me he is the best TE I have ever seen. And there have been some great ones over the years but Kelce is a true difference maker. The grand is by no means in the bag but he is off to a solid start so far this season.
Hopefully we get a WR boost tonight with Miller and maybe Watson of the Bucs. Have to install my de jinx applicator after mentioning them. I don't know if the Giants are calling up Alex Bachman again for tonight's game? They didn't use him last week but I suspect if he is called up again we will see him a bit.

About Darnold/Barrios - The thing is this. Darnold has to dump the ball off, because when he turns to look down field, the D linemen are all over him. He has zero chance to survey the field. As far as Barrios goes, he seems to be the only one on the team who can "catch the ball." Actually, the Defense plays well until the Offense doesn't give them a break and leaves them on the field far too long. The same thing would happen to any defense left on the field that long. Very interesting situation.

Yesterday Ryan Kerrigan requested a trade. Washington is hell bent on keeping him around to help their young black defensive linemen. They have shown increasingly less interest in actually playing Kerrigan despite his terrific play from limited snaps.
Kerrigan should go up to that prick of an owner and tell him he is going to shove his face into a toilet if he doesn't trade him. Ha.
Seriously maybe the players association should look into this crap. He deserves playing time and if he was getting the appropriate amount of snaps then Kerrigan would have less of a leg to stand on. But to purposely derail a player's career for the sole purpose of using him as a quasi coaching staff member strikes me as over the line.
Trade deadline is Tuesday afternoon.

Considering all he has done for the organization and being a model citizen off the field they should respect his request. It sounds like Haskins is on the block too - would love to see him get cut outright if they can't trade him.
It's owned by Crissy Collinsworth, perhaps the most anti-White analyst ever. How could it possibly not be scrupulously fair and unbiased, just like Weenieworld and other popular sources of information on NFL players?
