Rex if he returns will have to bring it. I believe this will be his last season with NE if he is not impactful, maybe the end due to his injury history regardless. He needs to get back and leave a great footprint to a successful season.

Rex may get very little opportunity when/if he returns this season. The Patriots are using their first round pick Michel as close to a bellcow back now, with James White in a Danny Woodhead type role. It will likely take sustained poor performance by Michel or an injury for Rex to be used much if he returns. There's a good chance his NFL career is at or close to the end, and if so his propensity for injury will be a large factor that caused it. The rare White players at taboo positions have to stay healthy or they're quickly discarded.

The problem with so few white running backs is that an injury situation, which hits almost all players at one time or another is critical when you only have a couple of players to cheer for. Virtually all running backs get worn out quickly nowadays so even the best white ones are only going to have a short time to play.

Heck Burkhead was seriously injured his next to last year at Nebraska. It's really a surprise that he has been able to collect an NFL paycheck this long.

In his favor some what is that no other team would attempt to sign a 28 going on 29 year old running back especially a white one. Meaning the Pats wouldn't get anything from trading him and may persist with him. He was the starter Vs the Texans in week one and did as well as Sony has performed since. RB's in NE don't seem to have the same gelling period that is accustom to the wide outs who spend a few years with the squad before starting at the position which could also work in his favor given his receiving ability . BB seems to have a habit of trying to get rid of players just as they are about to decline but if you can't get anything for the player then this tactic is basically useless. Really hope this isn't the end for him as I really rate him especially in the NE set up.

Edelman and Gronk are both set to start tonight (the first time they’ve played together in 32 Patriot games), but both could be on a snap count. Hopefully they can both make an impact and Hogan can finally have a big game. Last week’s Thursday Night Football game was the best I’ve ever seen...so it would be great to see Gronk, Edelman, and Hogan dominate.

Pretty cool video compilation of every Edelman catch from the entire 2016 season, including “The Catch” in SB 51...

That is what I mentioned earlier, would BB start Gordon instead of Hogan, now we know where BB's alliances are.... screw him!

Patriots are hardly a team worth rooting for. Coal black D, darkening o-line, cut most of their white skill players, Rex is made of glass it seems and they keep forcing the ball to White.

Ball hits Hogan in the hands, bounces off right into the hands of a Colts defender for a pick. Crap.

Yep. You can tell that the whole mental state of this team has been destroyed. And Somy Michel? What the hell isnthis all about? He already has more carries this year than Christian McCaffrey has in his career. I cannit believe how stupid the Patriots have become. All they needed to do was fix that defense. Idiots

If Pascal was a white player he wouldn't even make a practice squad. For instance Chad Hansen is exactly the same size (hands, arm length etc) with faster top end speed, essentially the same vertical, much faster short area quickness, and much, much better hands, and can't make any roster.

He finally broke off a good run and Rex is probably screwed now even when he comes back healthy.

Hogan and Burkhead are both most likely gonna ride the pine, Brady has Hogan wide open deep in the end zone and makes a more difficult pass to Gordon for the TD....Hogan out of favor now... Brain dead announcers saying Gordon is like Randy Moss and he is the deep threat the Patriots have been missing the last few years lol Hogan is alot faster than Gordon and is almost always open....

Brady the GOAT with 500 career TDs! I wish it could have been to Gronk or Edelman, but still a phenomenal stat!

Is Brady the all time leader for TD passes?
3rd behind Peyton Manning and Favre. Brees is at 496 so he will probably supplant him for 3rd before the end of the season, and probably take the record next season or the season after if he continues to play at a high enough level.

I watched the 2nd half and it was pretty disappointing, from both a CF perspective and simply lackluster football.

Well, give Gordon some time. As soon as something goes wrong he may hit the bottle or the pipe.

They have John Simon on d who had a sack last week, and exited early last night. I believe he will be starting at one of the DE spots in week 6.

John Simon left last night's game in the 2nd quarter with a shoulder injury. Waiting on more information...

LB Calvin Munson has been signed to NE’s practice squad. Any injuries to one of the black players and he could be added to the roster.

I’ve heard nothing about John Simon’s shoulder injury, so perhaps it was minor.

.

Seriously bro? Name me one white wide receiver that the league considers a "deep threat"? How many years did it take Jordy to get that repsect? Hogan, who is still a football novice really, was considered by the media to be a #1 in the same way Kevin Curtis was a number 1. Well, that should be a compliment, but Curtis was called a joke by the league even after his legitimate breakout season.

Hogan was never considered a number 1. At best he was a number 1 by proxy thanks to Edelman. No Edelman isn't a number one by them either, but it's hard to dog on a guy that puts up his numbers. Unless your Mike Furrey, but I digress. He was dogged on from beginning to end. Gordon, who, yes has talent, but has no internal discipline is the talk of the town right now.
