I took notice of this as well.

I disagree, I think he was probably in on about 30-40% of the 2 wideout sets. There really isn't much distinction between the #1,2,and 3 wide recievers in Jacksonville right now anyways.

I think they still don't know how to use Jones properly, they keep on sending him on to many outside deep routes and buttonhooks and crap like that. They need to work him more to the inside.

Really Jones is just begining to scratch the surface of what he can do. This is only the beggining of his second year at reciever, and he still seems lost out there sometimes. It will probably be at least 2 more years before he really hits his stride, but he's already doing well and it seems like he has a luxury that white wide recievers don't get in this day and age - time.

Possession receiver?

IMO they need to run Jones in the offense like he is another Randy Moss: big, tall, and fast, with great hands. Deep outside patterns seem to suit him to the tee, if you ask me, if Leftwich can get him the ball. He caught five passes in a row yesterday, and if I remember correctly, weren't they all to the outside?

I don't like button hooks all that much anyway, but he has the speed to break one if they get him the ball on the outside quickly enough.

This from my fantasy football website

News: Jaguars WR Matt Jones, who caught only three passes Week 2 after catching none in Week 1, continues to upset Jaguars coaches and players with his lack of conviction. "I'm not comfortable with some of the body language he's exhibiting," head coach Jack Del Rio told The Florida Times-Union while reviewing the team's 13-7 victory over the Atlanta Falcons Sunday. Jones has a habit of running his routes casually, especially when the called play doesn't feature him as the go-to receiver.

Analysis: Jones certainly hasn't won Jacksonville coaches over with his attitude. The former college quarterback may've caught a case of Eric Crouch syndrome, meaning he still fancies himself a quarterback and not a receiver. The third-year player and former first-round pick has only disappointed the Jaguars and Fantasy owners so far and has given no indication that he'll reverse the trend this year. He only deserves consideration in deeper Fantasy leagues and should remain out of Fantasy lineups for Week 3 at Denver.

Truth be told, Matt would have made a better QB than most "mobile" black QBs in league history. He may have developed into a good QB with time, but we'll never know. My hope is that Matt ends up in a system that will take advantage of his strengths as a receiver.

I think Jack Del Rio is losing control of his team. The inmates are running the asylum in Jacksonville.

I don't know why, but I get the impression Garrard is poisoning the locker room, and is the catalyst for the changes taking place in Jacksonville. Del Rio cuts Leftwich, and then a week later bad mouths the best receiver on the team (who had a rapport with Leftwich), saying Jones isn't 'energetic' enough, whatever that means. Fred Taylor's somewhat ambivalent attitude towards Jones and his lack of energy is also quite telling in my opinion, particularly in the face of his coach's obvious dislike for Jones. If I had to guess, I'd say Taylor preferred Leftwich as well.

I say Del Rio is fired after this year, unless the Jags somehow make the playoffs. Edited by: White Shogun

The Jags need to fire James Harris, the black racist who is vice president of player personnel, otherwise Del Rio will simply be replaced by another white Uncle Tom.

"Matt Jones caught two passes for 20 yards in Week 5 against the Chiefs.

Jones wasn't targeted until being thrown to twice on the same fourth-quarter possession, catching the only two balls that went his way."

great way to use your best weapon Gerrard...

Matt Jones continues to exemplify exactly what kind of obstacles we face in overturning the Caste System. He is, in fact, the poster child for the Caste System. I read on a fantasy web site yesterday that Jones had two balls "bounce off his hands" in the game Sunday, and that the drunken white fans were really on him afterwards. In the same game, slow, hands-of-stone WR Reggie Williams lost two fumbles. It was not stated whether or not the drunken white fans were also booing him afterwards, but something tells me they weren't.

It's really depressing to look at the Jaguars' nearly all-black team, led by trash-talking clown David Garrard, and consider they are now 4-1 and considered one of the league's hottest teams. Jack Del Rio is a complete idiot, and has done almost nothing right since he's been at Jacksonville, yet like so many other seemingly moronic coaches, he has been rewarded with success. Not playing his best athlete (Matt Jones) alone should warrant his being fired. Instead, he somehow wins games with a black sumo o-line, an unqualified affirmative action QB, and horrible WRs, led by the ridiculous Cleveland Brown-bust Dennis Northcutt. Looking at their talent level, and coaching and front office deficiencies, they should be one of the NFL's weaker teams. Their inexplicable success is just one of the many reasons I think these games are fixed.
