(KFFL) Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow became the first quarterback with more rushes than passes in a game in which he threw every pass for his team since 1974. Tebow had eight pass attempts and nine rushing attempts in Week 10.

Tim may have completed "only" 2 passes but 1 of them was a DEEP perfectly thrown game clinching TD pass to Decker! It's not like TT can complete 30-40 passes when the coach "only" calls 8 passing plays... Tebow has made every player on his limited talent team play much better just as he did at UF which is why the Broncos are 3-1 with Tim starting!

I hope Fox works on developing Tebow's all around game and not just limiting him to the option. Right now it seems Fox is content with just using Tim's legs with no real plan to develop him at all as many on the board have speculated.

Well there is a way to stop the basic zone read which is what Denver was running last game, and Rex Ryan knows quite a bit about option football. Hopefully the coordinator is smart enough to know how to make adjustments to keep it running. They need to use more play action, run the inverted veer or run the jet sweep, then fake it and hit Decker downfield. What made it so deadly at UF was the passing game combined with the option, thats why they called it the spread option. Fox shouldn't act like Tebow was running Paul Johnson's offense.

Personally I think it's fun to have some different offensive looks once in a while. Eight passes? The Lions passed 64 times the last game and it was a joke. The league is already a copycat league with the only difference between teams the color of he uniforms. A team that runs a different offense is a plus to me. Does every Qb have to be Tom PeyBrees? It's one of the reasons I like the college game more then the pros (that and MORE white guys).

The only problem is an NFL coach would have to be dedicated to making the tweaks to keep the offense running. So far they haven't shown that. Once teams adjust to college type schemes, instead of offensive coordinators tweaking it to keep it going, they write it off as a gimmick and go back to the same stuff everyone else is doing. Its pretty much happened to the wildcat. What it needed to be used for more than a few gadget plays is a legit passing attack that could also pound it up the middle (like Tebow). Instead they put the 190 pound Pat White who couldn't run in between the tackles and wasn't much of a passer either. What it basically came down to is they wanted blacks to succeed using it, not Whites. I remember ESPN talking about the problems of the wildcat and Ditka said it would be Tebow would be a perfect fit to run it successfully, they laughed at him. College teams have figured out how to stop the basic zone read like I stated Denver is running. The question is if the coach can make the adjustments guys like Chip Kelly makes. Even Paul Johnson has to constantly tweak the old triple option. The Patriots have made a passing type spread work in the NFL, the key to it was to use tight end heavy formations instead of 4 receivers. In fact their 2007 season, alot of the passing concepts were based off of what Florida was running with Tebow. They sent McDaniels down there to learn it and install it, which is probably why he drafted Tebow in Denver.

It's funny that completion percentage is always the complaint about Tim Tebow and why he can't possibly be an NFL QB. Meanwhile they ignore all the positive stats such as QB rating, TD to interception ratio, turnovers, rushing, and wins. John "silver spoon" Elway, who has been less than supportive of Tebow to say the least, had a worse completion percentage in his rookie year as well as worse stats in every other meaningful category.

I was watching ESPN last night with the after game highlights and press conferences. I actually have a more favorable opinion of Herm Edwards as he was basically praising Tebow and his ability to win the games by his competitive spirit. Edwards was also saying the Broncos have other issues that need to be addressed not just the QB position. But Steve Levy looked pissed and the other goofy white guy did too. WTF!!? Are we turning on one another so blatantly and have to have a black man give his nod for the white guy. Nothing against Edwards but it was disgusting to watch the other white guy and heeb diss Tebow.

Tim Tebow has now started 8 games in his NFL career. How about this for a half season stats:

6 wins 2 losses
1,363 passing yards
12 TD 4 Int
615 rushing yards, 9 TDs

Double those numbers and he is hands-down the league MVP.

Tim Tebow Wins, Pat Bowlen Approves, Denver Broncos Fans Rejoice

11 days ago, I asked a question about whether or not the Broncos would make the playoffs. I was called a hack (and things and stuff), but here we are not even a full 2 weeks later and the Broncos are sitting pretty at 5-5. The Denver Broncos, who started 1-4, are a half game out of first place in the AFC West.

After the game, I was too excited to sleep. I found myself watching highlights and post-game interviews until about 4 in the morning. What an exciting win!

Now, before I pose a poll question, I'd like to share a couple of thoughts. First, I'll address what Pat Bowlen said after the win.

"He's a quarterback, and believe me he's going to learn. I believe he'll be a great one. Better keep him around."

Who am I to say any differently? Tim Tebow and the Broncos offense put together a 95 yard drive with the game on the line. What more could you ask for? Yeah, a blowout would have been nice, but a win's a win. A 45 point win and a 3 point win both count the same in the win column. Tim Tebow, flat out, got it done when the chips were down.

"Better keep him around" is an understatement. If you've never seen emotion win a football game, you've either never seen a John Elway 4th quarter comeback or you have been living under a rock during Tim Tebow's past 5 games.

Yes it was tough pulling for the Broncos as much as I wanted Tebow to suceed since their defense is coal black. at least the Jets have a few whites, especially the white safety tandem which is going to get most of the blame for the Jets one defensive lapse. As mentioned before, the camera panned directly to Leonard after Tebows TD as if the director wanted to point out that the white guys were to blame for the Jets loss.

I've seen two Tebow games now, this one and the disaster against the Lions. It would be easier to root for Tebow if he could pick up the passing game a little more. He's fairly erratic. He also needs to work on game management. He has called a couple of ill advised timeouts and also should have gotten a play off before the two minute warning stopped the clock. The thing about Tebow is that I know if given a chance he will learn and get better. Guys like Tavarious Jackson, Jacrapus Russell and Vince Young will (did) not.

For most of the night, I was looking for a reason why. Why Mark Sanchez (who, for all his problems, has led the Jets to consecutive AFC Championship games) was getting nothing but shade from Plaxico Burress and hot, angry breath from offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer while Tebow, who was playing quarterback with the grace of an ice-skating Bambi, was getting the undying support of his teammates.

For the answer, go back to 3:55 remaining in the fourth quarter. Tebow, barely bothering to look upfield, cradles the ball and takes off like a Greyhound bus driven by a meth head. There on the horizon, he sees the usually unwelcoming vista that is Revis Island. And what does he do? Does he trot out of bounds and save some clock and spare himself the contact? Nope. He barrels over Revis like a hurricane, stays in bounds, and gets that much closer to the end zone.

That's why you block for a guy like that. That's why you run route after useless route and try to save play after broken play. That's why, if you're on defense, you are just trying to keep it close, just trying to ding Sanchez up enough to make him jumpy, just trying to frustrate the Jets receiver corps enough to make them give up on their game plan.

Because at the end of the game, it might just be 13-10 and you might just have a shot. You might just be 20 yards out and your quarterback might just be able to run like Mike Alstott. And with the home crowd losing their minds in the thin air, and the terrifying Jets defense on their back foot and everyone in America watching because your very average AFC West team has become the center of the football universe, your quarterback might just do the one thing he was put on Earth to do: make a perfect read on a safety who is overcommitted to the inside and take off with only one destination in mind. He might do what he said he would, what he asked you to believe he could do. He might just win the damn thing for you.

WOW,

ESPN giving Tim Tebow time to talk about his critics and his faith in JESUS CHRIST! He handled it really well.

A couple of months ago ESPN did an "Outside The Lines" segment about gays in sports and all current athletes as well as others gave gays a pass and basically said it was ok, atleast the athletes on the segment. Probably didn't state what they really thought for fear of losing their jobs.

I know this probably didn't make a difference, but after that segment I called ESPN and expressed my disgust over that segment of "Outside The Lines." That was the last thing I wanted to see on ESPN; was approval of gays in sports without perspective from the other side, those who don't approve!

I guess my point is atleast ESPN had Tebow on, knowing he would express publicly about his faith in Jesus Christ. I'm very surprised, but glad he was able to do that.

Good for Tim. There are a few teams where Orton could go and upgrade the QB position. Seattle stands out as the obvious location. Maybe Miami, though Moore has played well of late.

Elway clearly doesn't want to build a team around Tebow and would cut or trade him but the Broncos owner (Pat Bowlen) is overruling him and (IMO) that is why Elway seems as upset as Hodge with Tebow's success.

I think he will end up back in Chicago (at least for this season) to step right in for Cutler while he's injured.

Jake Plummer and Tim Tebow actually have a fair amount in common, if you think about it.

Both played quarterback for the Denver Broncos (Plummer from 2003-06), and both won games in ways that were not always described as "pretty."

But Plummer seems to have run out of patience with Tebow's prayer routine and wishes that the Broncos' current QB would tone it down a bit.

"Tebow, regardless of whether I wish he'd just shut up after a game and go hug his teammates, I think he's a winner and I respect that about him," Plummer told XTRA Sports 910 in Phoenix on Monday.

"I think that when he accepts the fact that we know that he loves Jesus Christ then I think I'll like him a little better."

Tebow has been highly public with his religious beliefs throughout his entire career, which appears to have rubbed Plummer the wrong way. However, "Jake the Snake" begrudgingly admits that Tebow does seem to have the skills to win in the NFL, regardless of his religious affiliation.

"I don't hate him because of that," Plummer admits, "I just would rather not have to hear that every single time he takes a good snap or makes a good handoff."

Plummer can't hate too hard on Tebow, though, admitting that, "He is a baller."

It figures that they simply focus on the part of the interview with Plummer on his view of Tebow's religiousity. The Fox article referenced above simply omits the rest of the interview! Here is (most of) the rest, where Plummer speaks more highly of Tim:

No doubt it will be less fun for Plummer when he gets hammered by the pro-Tebow crowd, though he seems to be the type of guy who doesn't really care what others think. And in the end, Plummer believes that Tebow will figure it out â€” right now, it's on every defense he faces to figure out whatever option packages are being served up by John Fox's coaching staff.
"When are they going to stop that [option offense]? I don't know, man," Plummer said. "That's why you won't see me on ESPN prognosticating or trying to analyze what they do.
"They are going to do it until it gets stopped and probably are going to keep doing it until Tebow can take a drop and hit an out route or a comeback. Until he can do that, then why would they change? If he can't ever do that â€¦ I think if takes the time and gets the right coaching and has people with patience and putting effort in. He's willing to learn. You can hear it in his words."
But how far can he go as a pure passer? "I think he'll end up becoming the thrower we expected him to be. Right now, he is winning and that's all that matters. I think the town and the fans in Denver, they loved John Elway for one reason. He didn't win every game he played, but you know what, he brought a belief there and the fans never gave up in a game. They always knew that they had him running the show and they had a chance. I had that for a while there in Denver. That's a special feeling and I can see Tebow building that up right now.
"We'll see what happens. You can never tell. They are enjoying it now, so right on. Go win some more games."

There was another story today about Elway's non-committal attitude towards Tebow. It came during a radio interview apparently, as I caught the segment on SportsCenter. Elway said something about Tebow having to do a better job on 3rd down than 3-13, or something like that. Tebow's response was taking the high road and being very complimentary of him. To be honest, I'm getting sick and tired of Elway and his BS. Why is he doing all this nitpicking of a QB who's in the early stages of his development process? Does he also forget that he looked like a train wreck many times early in his own career before becoming a HOF'er? It must suck to be Elway and Fox right now, rooting for Tebow to fail while he keeps winning. It reminds of that movie Major League.

They're trying to rattle Tebow, but he handles everything.

A day after former Broncos QB Jake Plummer said in a radio interview that he wished the man currently taking the snaps in Denver, Tim Tebow, would curb his references to Jesus Christ and his faith, Tebow responded.
Asked about Plummerâ€™s remarks in an interview on ESPNâ€™s First Take, Tebow said:

â€œIf youâ€™re married, and you have a wife, and you really love your wife, is it good enough to only say to your wife â€˜I love herâ€™ the day you get married? Or should you tell her every single day when you wake up and every opportunity?
â€œAnd thatâ€™s how I feel about my relationship with Jesus Christ is that it is the most important thing in my life. So any time I get an opportunity to tell him that I love him or given an opportunity to shout him out on national TV, Iâ€™m gonna take that opportunity. And so I look at it as a relationship that I have with him that I want to give him the honor and glory anytime I have the opportunity. And then right after I give him the honor and glory, I always try to give my teammates the honor and glory.
