I just read a story abut Wes Welker saying he doesn't deserve a better contract bacause he hasn't played well enough.

Now this fellow!

My advice to our White brothers would be to take all the money they can get their hands on. Why should Blacks and Latinos get all the moolah?

They have no qualms about grabbing all the cash in the till regardless how bad they perform.

MLB player quits; says he doesn't deserve $12 million
Category: A Conversation About Race When you first heard about this story, or read the headline above, about a pitcher for the Kansas City Royals with a guaranteed $12 million contract for 2011 turning it down because he's no longer good enough to deserve it, was there any doubt in your mind that he was anything but a white man?

I think we all knew instantly, before we even clicked on the links, that only a white man would have the integrity to do something like that.

Rare integrity by a pro athlete. They're ALL grossly overpaid (NFL, NBA & MLB) IMHO.

Dave Cowens did something similar. I think he gave back $8 million because he couldn't play his last year in the NBA due to injury.

Here's the problem. The Royals owners are rubbing their hands in glee calculating how many Dominican prospects they can sign with that $12 million. 1,000? 2,000?

$12 million, maybe $8 million after taxes, could do a lot of good. Someone willing to turn down $12 million over principle very likely has strong convictions and favorite causes. Elections are won and lost because of money. A Christian high school somewhere could use a new science lab. That homeless white kid with the perfect SATs, who wound up going to Oral Roberts U. to study physics (meanwhile the non-white applicant to Harvard, with 85th percentile SATs, gets a full scholarship ride), might need a bit of help with living expenses. And so forth.

And with this insane tsunami of Latin players they're killing MLB, destroying tradition, and creating a "world" sport. "Kumbaya!" everyone.

Fans are supposed to root for a team because they can relate to it on some level - "my guys." Well, how the hell are "my guys" from the Dominican, Panama, Mexico, Cuba, or Venezuela?? Who then should GAS??

My team is the Yankees. If they keep ou with there own troubling trend of fielding a Latin-dominant team I'll disown them like I've disowned the Knicks since the 70s as Team Africana. The NY Giants aren't too far behind in being forgotten. Their one token white guy fill-in at LB or at DT is almost the last straw.
