Check out this route running by Renfrow against the Chiefs in week 10. The best view starts at 28 seconds.

In the video Collinsworth claims that Renfrow "fell down."

It didn't look that way to me. I think it was planned.

Renfrow is darn near as good as Cooper Kupp. Both are very smart and both are uncoverable.

It'd be great to see Hunter go over 1,000 yards receiving this season. He's currently under the needed pace but not by a lot (494 yards through 9 games). I'll never forget how much Renfro was ridiculed after he was drafted as being no more than a cheerleader or mascot who had no athleticism whatsoever. He's still mocked quite a bit but it's slowly becoming less as he continues to establish himself as one of the better receivers in the league.

Nagy is a must-follow on Twitter for me. One of the few fair ones out there and has unique insight on players because he actually watches tape and uses official numbers. Not like these random guys who make draft profiles and make stuff up like the guy mentioned earlier who said Creed Humphrey was a limited athlete, or the guys that just throw every white stereotype at every white player they evaluate.

Agreed! Decently fair and actually has scouting talent.

After two straight one hundred yard games, Renfro is now on pace for his first thousand yard season. He needs 240 yards in the Raiders' final five games, or an average of less than 50 yards per game. With Darren Waller banged up, Hunter is Derek Carr's only reliable target (and Waller hasn't been very good this season even when healthy).

Adam Thielen may not reach one thousand yards due to his high ankle sprain, so Renfro has a great chance to join Cooper Kupp as the only two White receivers to surpass a thousand yards in '21. What a great story he is, overcoming all the low expectations created for him by the fake news sports media to become one of the best receivers in the league!

Excellent news regarding Renfrow. We knew he'd be a star after his performances against The best in Alabama! Finally putting it all together as a pro. Gee, look what the man can do with consistent targets!

Renfrow is a joy to watch, as are Thielen and Kupp. People born to catch a football, they are.

Hunter Renfrow reminds me of Wes Welker and Cooper Kupp reminds me of Kevin Curtis but at a level above Curtis.

They both are young so we should have many years left to enjoy both of their elite talent. Thielen is nearing an end to a very good
career. I'm hoping he can hang on for two more seasons. I really wanted to see him get to 1000 yards but the injury will probably
kill that dream. Horrible timing. Adam Thielen is such a good story like Kupp out of a smaller school and very few if any expected
him to go onto much success.

If Thielan can string together two good games (100 yds plus) and two ok ones he will reach it. Really hoping he does.

NFLPA names Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow among 2022 'Rising Stars'

Each year the NFLPA spotlights what they deem the NFL’s rookie and veteran ‘Rising Stars’. Players they believe are poised to have breakout seasons, gain fan support and ultimately rank among the top sellers of all officially licensed player merchandise.

Making the list among veterans is one Hunter Renfrow of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The NFLPA lists ten Rising Stars and Renfrow came in at third in the ranking behind only Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs and Eagles WR AJ Brown.

Renfrow is coming off his first season with over 1,000 yards receiving (1038), making his first Pro Bowl in his third NFL season. He reached that total by catching 103 passes, which is the second-most in a season by a wide receiver in Raiders franchise history behind only Hall of Famer Tim Brown (104).

The ‘Slot Machine’ has made seemingly countless ‘underrated’ lists this offseason, which kinda makes you wonder how he can be underrated if everyone is rating him among the league’s best. Including the NFLPA itself.

So here is a guy that had to walk on at Clemson because he mostly had fcs offers, did not get a single star ranking, but they gave him a chance. His combine measurables were not amazing 3 reps, 4.59 40 etc and yet three years Into the nfl and he is a pro bowl wide receiver.

obviously he must have tremendous game intelligence and work ethic, because there are white wideouts that are more physically gifted than he is as well.

However it doesn’t seem to matter.

so like I said In another post, it seems that guys like renfrow possess intangibles that are more important than or at least as important as the measurables.
How can other Athletes benefit from this?

I watched a video of Renfrow. Not surprisingly he has great moves. One time he faked that he was falling, put his hand on the ground and then pushed off to move in a different direction, He must be a nightmare to cover.

Young receivers should study this man's video.

I totally believe that so my question then is why was he so ignored yet still managed to do so well?

guys like him and Cooper kupp and a healthy Thielen are in the top 5 receivers in the nfl yet they weren’t good enough for a d1 scholarship as a freshman.

I know it’s the caste system that creates this situation, but studying how these three in particular overcame it should be a prime focus. Especially if you want to see a fairer nfl.

personally I don’t think fairness is coming to football anytime soon but these three would be a good case study in how to overcome

Honestly, I think the most important things a White athlete can learn from Renfrow is to choose a college program that has a staff with a history of being fair to Whites. You could do everything else right and the scouting services are still going to screw you. Most programs, if you choose a scholarship or walk-on, will screw you. So this choice is paramount. Clemson, or more so Sweeney, had a recent history of using White walk-on slot receivers (Humphries, Grisham). So Hunter made a logically sound decision.

Kupp made the right decision by going to Eastern Washington where he was “allowed” to get good playing time, which lead to his dominance that was too great to ignore. If he had instead decided to walk-on at a bigger program, like say Washington State, he might have warmed the benches for 4 years.

So that step can’t be ignored but beyond that, it’s the obvious. Perform at a super high level (Kupp) or perform on / at a big stage (Renfrow). If Renfrow did not make big catches in back to back national championship games, does anyone think he’d be a 5th round pick instead of an easily disposable UDFA?

The last part of the Renfrow story is luck. He got drafted to a team with a coaching staff willing to give him opportunities (good job Gruden). If the Bears for example drafted him instead, would we be talking about Renfrow the pro-bowler? Look at a higher drafted White receiver like Isabella. Had bad luck going to Arizona.

So to summarize, a White receiver (or any skill position player) needs to make good choices, perform beyond expectations and have some luck. When you see how unlikely it is to hit on all of that, you realize how easy it is for The System to caste our guys aside.

That the NFLPA did this kind of surprises me, I thought that was the blackest org outside of BET. Yeah Hunter made great decisions, probably smarter than the usual jock. Most seem content to just mouth the usual ESPN idiotic platitudes.

Excellent points. I don’t want to assign any undo work to anyone. But for those of you who care I’m going to spawn a new thread where this might be able to be explored more in depth

I'm very glad to see Renfro be so successful, especially after he was widely -- pretty much universally -- mocked as unathletic, more of a team mascot than the All Pro receiver he's become. But -- like Kupp he signed for under his market value. Christian Kirk -- who? -- an underachiever with Arizona, signed a 4 year $72 million contract ($20 mil signing bonus with $37 mil guaranteed) with Jax this offseason to significantly raise the going rate for receivers. Again, it's silly money these guys make, but Renfro's market value was more than he signed for. That's been the case for White receivers and White players in general in the NFL for a long time.
