Plus Warholm is a cold weather White Athlete so he is a superhero specimen. I am always bias for cold weather sportsmen. You could say he is the equivalent to a fictional born and raised and trained in Jamaica Hockey player who becomes the NHL all time best.

Fahnbullah into the 200 final just a few weeks after running at the NCAAs. Six months ago I had hopes for Boling to do that, what a bust that was. Fahnbullah is a year younger than Boling btw.

800m Women:
19 year old Keely Hodgkinson UK takes Silver with an amazing 1:55.88.

PV Men:
Armand Duplantis Swe takes Gold

White male Athletes have won all of the Jumping Golds with the TJ still to come.

HT Women:
Poland Gold and Bronze.
Malcontent Gwen Berry finished last.

Other good news is race-mixers Melissa Bishop CAN 800m failed to qualify as well as Sandi Morris USA PV failed to qualify for the final.

In the Men’s HT Poland looks to win multiple medals as well.
Ukraine has 20 year old Mykhaylo Kokan with a shot at a medal. At 6-0/223 he bench presses 100kg (221 p) 52 times.

400H for women was predictably close and fast. Great performance by Bol, but what I found hilarious was McLaughlin's total non-reaction after winning Olympic gold in a WR. Warholm yesterday was jumping, shouting and ripping his vest; McLaughlin just sat on the track frowning like she'd finished a training run. Oh well, different strokes.

Someone named "Wadeline Jonathas" is running for the US in the women's 400m. If I didn't know better, I'd guess it's one of those names from that knockoff Japanese baseball video game where they switch out some of the letters in English names like Sleve McDichael.

Glad to see that smug ass Lyles get his ass whooped.....

Poland 1&3 in the mens hammer with a Norwegian crushing his pb for second.

Dobek up for 3rd with Murphy dead last in the 800m. Because the spanish runner dipped so hard at the line and crashed Tuka got hurt was taken off in a wheelchair

Japanese male sprinters nowhere to be found

Klaver needs to change her strategy in her race. She is getting caught each race because she goes out far too hard and cannot hold her speed, better to come from off the pace in her situation imho.

Felix is one of two black/mixed sprinters I respect, she qualified for final but will not win....possibly not even medal.

Last point, who was the black guy Freiricch was all giggles with after her second place finish....well done to her!

Cheers....

reigning, and youngest-ever, decathlon world champion (as well as gold medal favorite) Niklas Kaul of Germany is out of competition after appearing to injure an ankle in the 400meters. he was unable to finish the race. here’s hoping it isn’t a serious injury for the world u20 record holder, and he has a swift and full recovery.

***********

I am surprised no one has mentioned Femke Bol’s performance in the 400-meter hurdles. her bronze-medal-winning (and European record) time of 52.03 would’ve won gold at every other Olympic race in history. she just happened to be in the same race as the two-fastest times in world history. kudos to this young sprinter! much like Warholm on the men’s side, it will be interesting to see how she approaches running the flat 400 in future.

ah, the heartbreak U.S. 4 x 100 guys continue to dispense to their followers. How can that team not qualify? They didn't drop the baton, just ran like guys who don't know each other

Devon Allen looking very White in the 110M hurdles. I know there’s been plenty of scrutiny regarding the one drop rule. I’m sure this is a replay, but I’m watching it “live” on NBC.

Holloway gives it away after being swamped at the end. Managed to hold off the second Jamaican who was just about to pass him

I feel really bad for Devon Allen. He finished 5th last time and in 4th place today in the finals. Just out of the medals. He ran a 13.14 and would have been in the hunt
for a medal but he clipped a hurdle early in the race. In the 110 Hurdles you have almost no room for error. Even Holloway was a heavy favorite and he only finished
second. USA should have won 2 of the 3 medals here but they go home with only 1 and it's not gold.

Again I hate to point fingers at any athletes or countries but Jamaica wins 2 of the 3 medals again. Funny how they dominate the world?

On another note Shubenkov was healthy up to a week ago and then had a injury at the last minute
and had to pull out of the Olympics. He had a great chance to medal and possibly gold. Very sad
to get hurt right before he was preparing to head to Tokyo. I feel so bad for him.

MM I agree it is “funny” how they (m/f)are dominating in the sprints and hurdles, never seem to be tired after a race. On a bright note I was happy to see the lovely Lukenkemper in the 4x100m relay. She looked good. The polish gals sure missed Swoboda out there on anchor. Schippers muffed receiving the handoff from Visser as she left too early and had to slow right down..not a good sign.

Yes I miss watching the Lovely Lukenkemper. She went sub 11 early in her career and then like magic she vanished. I rarely see her in the individual 100 meter races
anymore and she had immense talent. I'm talking possibly 10.80's potential or more. Guess school/work or other things detoured her track career. I miss watching
her and Germany could have had a true German Female Sprinter of the highest level possibly but it never panned out. Maybe next year she will pursue it fulltime again?

The USA didn't qualify for the finals in the 4x100m.
It's laughable. Every Olympics, every championships, they screw up the relay because they can't pass the baton efficiently.
Most of the time they drop it, or pass outside the zone. This time, they had legal, but lousy passes and came in 6th in their heat.
You'd think they would learn, but they never do. They're an embarrassment.

We have a great battle going on in the decathlon.
Kevin Mayer should finish Silver and his world record is safe.
The main battle is Ashley Moloney the 20 year old Australian for bronze. He sits at 7269 points with the JT and 1500m to come.
His pb’s in JT would yield 704 points and his 1500 would get 665 for a total score of 8638.
Lepage from Canada if pb’s both would score 8563.

Mayer could score 8873 and Warner 9078 so Mayer WR of 9126 is safe.

Ashley Moloney has scored over 900 in 6/8 events so far. His youth shows in the SP/DT and in the upcoming JT. I think he will blow away his 1500m pb.
Mastermulti needs to coach him up in his throws. This kid is going to get a world record some day. I believe he will be Australia’s only Athletics medal at Tokyo 2020.

Men’s SP
USA Ryan Crouser Gold 23.30m Olympic Record
USA Joe Kovacs Silver
NZL Tomas Walsh Bronze

Men’s TJ
CHINA ZHU Yaming Silver

I was glad to see Parchment JAM beat the arrogant Holloway, who made a jester to Shubenkov at the 2019 World ‘s when he won because Shubenkov was coming off a freak injury and took Silver at about 80%. Shubenkov is one of a rare few who has gone under the magical 13.00s mark. Too bad about his injury now because he would have won Gold if healthy.

Men’s JT
Major caste system possibilities with the top 3 qualifiers being Vetter GER and India and Pakistan. 10 European 1 India 1 Pakistan into the Final. Iam pulling for Euro’s but if India or Pakistan get an Athletics medal it will be historic.

Two of their runners (Kerley and Baker) qualified for the men's 100m finals, and another (Bromell) was a millisecond away from doing so as well. The problem, unsurprisingly, is poor communication skills. That's why most other team events have a much more white-friendly racial composition. The "crabs-in-a-bucket" mentality that's been cultivated in urban neighborhoods disincentivizes so many black athletes from playing selflessly and working for the sake of the team rather than for one's own stats. Our men's basketball team is the exception that proves the rule - just watch their comically bad performance against France, going for 3-pointer after 3-pointer while down by 2 near the end of the game. And yes, it's an all-star squad that doesn't normally play with each other during the regular season, but given that the same athletes are chosen over and over to represent us in international competition, you'd think they'd have developed some semblance of teamwork by now.
