Some good blue-eye soul music. A lot of babies made while playing this song.

For those of you who are fans of raw garage rock, as I am, I give you the album Psychotic Reaction by the Count Five. There's not a bad song on the album. It contains their hit single Psychotic Reaction, a garage rock classic. It's their only studio album.

Here's the definitive version of Louie Louis by the Kingsmen. It came about from a $50 recording session where things went wrong. But it turned out right.

AC/DC with Shot Down in Flames. It's always funny when this happens to some other guy but not when it happens to you.

I moved my computer near the TV to watch the playoffs, which I watched with the sound off. Instead I played music on Youtube. In doing so I ran across this gem by Mackenzie Phillips. Phillips is well known for the TV show One Day at a Time and certain claims about her personal life. I'm not interested in her personal life. She's a really good singer with a great voice. Here she is singing a song called In the Darkness. This is a great vocal performance by her.

Great lyrics (especially the first two lines) and the guitar makes you want to pick one up and learn to play. And as this once great country turns into a shite-hole that I no longer want to be a part of, this song means more to me today than ever.

This is the kind of thing I like to see. I'm delving into the artistic history of white people. I'm discovering all sorts of great art.

I never heard of this guy or heard this song. It's another pleasant discovery for me. Bobby Bare is a good singer and it's a good song. I also like the guitar playing, especially how the guitar is "out of tune" in the beginning and elsewhere in the song. Obviously the guitar player is "out of tune" intentionally but I don't know the musical term for it so I say "out of tune." I think it may be called bending a note but I'm not sure.

Anyway, great stuff.

The great Alvin Lee doing Hey Joe with two pretty good musicians playing with him. Derek Smalls on double bass.

That's a good one. I'm sure you've heard of some Upchurch.

I love some Upchurch. Listen to him for about an hour Monday night. Hillbilly and Southerland are good ones also. All his songs hit home with me. Thanks, Bucky.

World Party with Ship of Fools.

Good song by what turned out to be a one-hit wonder group. And this one probably doesn't even qualify as a hit but I remember MTV playing it shortly before they phased out rock videos.

Tom MacDonald is a White rapper I'd never heard of until just now reading that his song "Fake Woke" is currently the number one seller among hip hop/rap songs and number two among all genres. Here's the video on YouTube. Not my kind of music and he looks ridiculous but what's important are the lyrics, which I've printed below the video.

I think it’s crazy I’m the one who they labeled as controversial
And Cardi B is the role model for twelve year old girls
There’s rappers pushing Xanax at the top of the Billboard
But if I mention race in a song I’m scared I’ll get killed for it
It’s backwards, it’s getting exponentially dumb
It’s more difficult to get a job than purchase a gun
Eminem used to gay bash and murder his mom
And now he doesn’t want fans if they voted for Trump
We’re ashamed to be American, you should probably love it
‘Cause you have the right to say it and not get strung up in public
As children we were taught how to walk and talk
But the system wants adults to sit down and shut up
Cancel culture runs the world now, the planet went crazy
Label everything we say as homophobic or racist
If you’re white then you’re privileged, guilty by association
All our childhood heroes got MeToo’d or they’re rapists
They never freed the slaves
They realized that they don’t need to change
They gave us tiny screens, we think we free ’cause we can’t see the cage
They knew that race war would be the game they’d need to play
For people to pick teams, they use the media to feed the flame

They so fake woke, facts don’t care about feelings
They know they won’t tell me what to believe in
They so fake woke, same old, safe zones
They so fake woke, facts don’t care about your feelings

I think it’s crazy how these people screaming “facts” but they fake woke
Hate their neighbor ’cause he wears a mask or he stays home
Has a daughter but his favorite artist said he slays hoes
Picks her up from school, music slaps on the way home
Censorship’s an issue ’cause they choose what they erase
There’s a difference between hate speech and speech that you hate
I think Black Lives Matter was the stupidest name
When the system’s screwing everyone exactly the same
I just wanna spend Thanksgiving Day with food and my family
Without being accused of celebrating native casualties
We got so divided as black and white and political
Republicans are bigots, libtards if you’re liberal

Ship of Fools is a great time and now followed by Tom McDonald nice diversity of music in this thread! Mcdonald looks like a clown but actually has a couple of real "woke" songs out there, the above being one of them.

A great song and a great album. What has today's country music done to itself?
