Upon further review Mister Tumi is listed at 6'0" on his Wiipedia file. I have seen him standing around other sprinters and I always thought he was around 5'8" or so. He only has a personal best of 10.35 in the 100 meters and he turns 23 in 9 days but I bet this is the year he gets to a low 10.1 or better I hope.

Great news about Tumi. I also thought he was shorter. As far as Maurice Greene or Mo as he was called for short, 100% he was on peds. They had a check written out for alot of money signed by him to a known drug supplier. Plus just look at his head, face and overall structure. It was as obvious as the Wrestling Guys on tv. Haha. I only used him as an example of a shorter sprinter. Mo just like Michael Johnson, Tim Montgomery, Flo Jo,Marion Jones along with many others got away with everything.

You don't always have to see an athlete get caught to know they are using peds. Jamaica is the perfect example. Can you say the
darker version of East Germany in the old days. Lol. It's sad that the cheating is so rampant and the testers can never keep up with
the cheaters and the doctors/suppliers that help them to win by lieing.

I was a huge Morne Nagel Fan back in the day. I even talked to him a few times as well as some of his friends. I still think that he like Shirvo
could have easily went sub 10 with a different training/coaching system. He sure was fun to watch. Nic Macrozonaris wasn't too bad either.

The strange thing about Macrozanaris was that he wanted to be a 100 meter runner after watching fellow Canadian Donovan Bailey win the gold in Atlanta.
How many people really have the genes out there to become a world class sprinter? I am wondering if people really just went for it like Macro that we could see a TON of top level white sprinters out there.
If Shirvo had a small tail wind he would have easily broken that 10.00 barrier. I think it has been remarked here before that the psychological pressure must have been enormous.
Is there any more news on the Lemaitre injury. I cannot find anything on it though it is disconcerting to see Jimmy Vicaut having a very good start to the year.

Macro had a best of 10.03 and he also ran a couple of wind aided sub 10's in the canadian national champs. Yes I agree that if whites
in general ever fell in love with the sprints worldwide but especially in the U.S. there would be more Lemaitre Types out there. We just lose too many of our best atheles to other sports, academics or even music. I'm hoping that we a seeing a min revival around the globe of white spirnters. We need to also support the white female sprinters. I'm hoping both Sailer and Lalova both go sub 11 this summer and make the finals at the World Champs. The two women from the Ukraine and some other female russian sprinters might be in the mix too.

I haven't heard anything more on Christophe. I hope it's a minor injury. Even though I'm not a Jimmy Vicaut fan, I'm glad that he has
a teammate to push him. Pickering never really had that outside of one season from S. Williamson. You need competition to get better. Lemaitre has to take sprinting seriously. Great genetics can only take him so far. Diet, Plyos, Weightlifting and hard training will be what takes him to the next level.

I'm really getting pissed about Ramil Guliyev. Where is he? I guess he is skipping indoors which doesn't make much sense. He needs proper coaching. Rytis Sakalauskas is missing in action too. Both of these sprinters go sub 10 if they had any drive phase what so ever. I love these guys but I've seen 5 year old kids that know how so start and execute the drive phase better than they do. What a waste of talent!

Its funny you mention those 2 guys WL. I just saw a video of Sakalauskas' 10.08 last year and who was right behind him? Guliyev in 10.16 and Brednev at 10.19. I do not recall 3 white sprinters ever running sub 10.2 in the same race. I think we will be hearing from all 3 this year. Sakaulaskas looks to have the most upside and if he cut down on his flailing arms when he runs he could probably run faster without all of that wind drag hitting him.

I remember that race very well Brednev is another short but powerful sprinter from Russian with alot of talent. Did you notice how quickly Ryhtis and Ramil stand up straight? No drive phase what so ever! I don't think they understand what it is. How can that be possible yet they still have the incredible talent to almost run 10 flat. Fix the start, drive phase and mechanics and they might be equal or better than Christophe. I have noticed Sakalaskas arms when he runs. That again goes to coaching. Even Verena Sailer who I love has the flailing arms going side to side yet she is still amazing. She has a p.b. of 11.03 even with bad upper body form. Her start is as good as anyone though.

Sometimes I wish I would have went into coaching. I guarantee I could find some elite white sprinters and would do a good job with training them. Let's just say that they would have the best form you have even seen and they would make it look effortless. We need better coaching in Europe. Some of the coach's are ok but many of them are an embarassment.

Pavel Trinikihn has been around since at least 2010, running anchor on the Russian 4x400m teams. He made it to the semi-finals of the individual 400m at last year's Olympics, along with another Pavel - Pavel Maslak of the Czech Republic.
But your mention of him reminded me of Vladimir Krasnov. He came in 4th at the 2010 Euro Championships at the age of 19 or 20. But I haven't heard much about him since. Unfortunately a lot of these Russian sprinters pop up for a season or two and disappear.
I'm hoping Krasnov will come back and the Pavels will continue to improve.

The Pavels - Trinikihn and Maslak - did very well at the international meet in Moscow.
1/ Pavel Trenikhin 46.09, 2 Pavel Maslak (cze) 46.32

Also impressive were the Shubenkov brothers in the 60m hurdles:
1/ Konstantin Shabanov 7.59; 2 Sergey Shubenkov 7.60

I'm really impressed with the hurdlers on the mens side in Russia as well as Pozzi and Clarke from the U.K.

Rytis Sakalauskas opened up his season with a 6.78 which is very average. I hope it's only because it was his first race. I still
think he needs a better coach or maybe an assistant coach to help him with his drive phase.

No Guliyev sighting yet. Come on Ramil. We need to see you back on the track!

to previous post , LE Lemaitre will never be forgotten ,ever .
regardless of his future career .
should stop pissing about and forego the indoors once and for all
all can agree that needs to start to prioritise and indoors is not part of .

And as for this wishing and wanting for the likes of guliyev and Sakalauskas
have to give these guys a break ,you are dealing with largely clean athletes that
dont have the likes of nike backing them . it is the system is the problem
and we know what athletes succeed in it , enhanced variety where doping is the norm and the nessity and if changed the rules or ignored such practices
would have ramil running flat 6.50,s consistantly easily but that is not what the powers that
be want and ,.will push the facade of these souped up variety all day long ,.
Just a thought and bit of realism .

Thanks for the video. Michael Tumi is a force to be reckoned with. I want to see hit hit the 6.40's. That is very rare territory for most
sprinters and he is capable of it with a little better start and or reaction time.

This Friday in Dussoldorf, Germany is going to be one hell of an indoor track meet. Ivet Lalova will take on the worlds fastest female indoor sprinter. Also Lemaitre and Reus face the mens fastest sprinter out of Cuba who has run a 6.52. We could be seeing some blazing times and many of the other events are stacked with big names. I hope we can get a live link to this meet. It's gonna be hot!

How is Galvan doing?
He did really well a few seasons ago, and I thought he was going to be a top 400m guy in Europe. But he disappeared a bit the last 2 seasons.

Angel David Rodriguez of Spain just ran a blazing 6,55 and a new Spanish record, incredible performance for the 32 year old spaniard, Reus followed in with a decent 6.60.

I actually I consider Rodriguez 6,55 even better 100m-wise than Tumi's 6,53 because Tumi seems more like a 60m specialist. Rodriguez looked very good in his last 20m to grab a few scalps. Great topend speed there, dont overlook him because of his age. I want to see him succeed in Moscow and run a sub 10.10 in the summer, maybe 10 flat.

Well maybe Lemaitre should consider training with Vicaut.
Vicaut has been getting stronger and faster every year, and right now I'm pretty sure he would beat Lemaitre at 100m.

Marian Cimpeanu, a Romanian sprinter I never heard of, timed 6.60 for 60m today at the Romanian championships.

He raised his arms and slowed down quite a bit at the end. Great run!

Yes that probably caused him almost a tenth of a second as he did it quite far out. J. Astrand has a p.b. outdoors of 20.53 which is very close the the Finnish 200 Meters Record of 20.49! Hopefully in a few months he will own the indoor and outdoor 200 meters national records. He also has a p.b. of 6.70 in the 60 which is around average. This guy must have great speed endurance. It's too be he is in his late twenties but he just may be a late bloomer.

Speaking of old guys, Kim Collins has to be doing some kind of p.e.d.s. because he gets faster and faster the closer he gets to 40! The guy has already run 6.57 this year. I used to say many years ago that he was one of the few clean black sprinters that was natural in my opinion. I have changed my assesment. You just don't get faster going into your 40's. It's just not how we are built.

Thanks frederic. I don't know how I wasn't aware of that as I usually keep up to date with alot of the sprinters and other athletes that cheat. The List is endless especially with certain ones. I know have lost what little respect I had for Kim Collins and will just add him to
the list of cheaters worldwide. It's only obivous what's going on in Jamaica and in many other places. All you have to do is use the eyeball test to tell on that one and I agree with another poster about J, Vicaut too. He has blown up way to fast similar to countless others.

Does anyone know when Micahel Tumi races again? I really want to see a high 6.40's time. Haven't seen one since Nagel from one of the
euro sprinters and you damn near never see any period! It is rarified territory for sure. I just hope this kid has the speed endurance to carry it outdoors to bring home a fine time in the 100 meters.

One more thing on todays race in Gent. I'm really impressed by the times by Rodriugez, Reus and Lemaitre as they all ran multiple races
in a two day span which can be exausting yet they all ran very well. Angel and Julien ran 4 races in two days and Lemaitre ran three.
