Why Do Eastern Europeans Dominate

in boxing, but white Americans do not?

I think it's because white Americans have bought into the hype of the black athlete. It's sickening. While it's true that the Eastern European athlete in boxing is typically your top or second-tier athlete, it should still show white Americans that they can compete if only they show more effort, determination and courage. We have to account for opportunities in professional sports in Europe. They really only have soccer and minor league basketball.Edited by: caste_dye

how is Europe minor league basketball - check out the latest results as far as NBA playing Euro teams go... and you seem to be forgetting about a lot of other sports, very popular in Europe such as rugby, volleyball and handball. plus bunch more.

This site certainly does attract them. Someone signed up yesterday under the user name "Mandingo" and his avatar was of a black man holding a beautiful blonde. He was banned before he could post.

Very disappointed in both of you. First, backrow has a ridiculous reply to caste_dye. You have to kidding me when you're trying to compare rugby, volleyball and handball to high paying sports such as soccer and boxing. WHY DIDN'T YOU MENTION TENNIS???

That was the obvious comeback to the ignorant "caste_dye". So what if he's a troll?? I love to have give and take with ignorant, black-loving posters like caste_dye. We sound like punks and wusses when we delete posts or ban trolls. If you can't have an intelligent comeback, just call on me.

Not half as disappointed as I am in a troll who registers under multiple identities and uses his second identity to defend his first!

Our guest thinks that soccer is the only sport that Europeans play, whereas in Europe there is a multitude of sports available. In the UK and France, rugby is strong,in Western Europe, cycling is popular, basketball is popular in southern and eastern Europe, and winter sports are popular in the Alpine countries and in Scandinavia. It shows the ignorance of many people about how foreign peoples spend their leisure time.

I thought I was the only one who posted the term "assclown" around here. Nice to see it spreading around. I believe the pro wrestler and semi-rock music star Chris Jericho started using that term a few years ago and it just took off from there. It's just so fitting for some people. Everytime I see Al Sharpton....assclown

You definitely own the rights to "asshat" White Savage, you may be the only one who can define the term and properly use it in a sentence.

I am clueless to what that word means but it's funny nevertheless.

There are several reasons East European fighters are doing well. One reason is they aven't grown up in countries where there's a widespread false belief that Black athletes are superior.

I mentioned to a white guy I work with work back in March about the upcoming fight between Wlad and Austin. He asked " is Austin black or white? " I replied "black." He replied, "Okay, then I'll bet on him to beat Klitschko." This irrational notion that Blacks are better athletes has no basis in reality, but the caste system in North American sports wouldn't survive without it.

They haven't "bought into the hype about Black athletes" in the Ukraine and Russia, and there's no caste system holding people like Wlad and Povetkin back from becoming the best fighters they can be. Edited by: JD1986

boxing is an olympic sport so it is taken seriously in eastern europe, as the olympics were the ultimate goal before 1990. plus all sports are treated like an industry, where all component parts are included.

I agree with you, Yuri. I think what you see in America is a non-
investment in native talent in general, and whites in particular. In Europe,
there is more of the idea that you spot talent early and the society
develops it. Here, especially since the Civil Rights movement of the 60's,
we seem to put FAR more emphasis on spotting and developing black and
minority talent in many areas rather than white talent. White talents are
left to the parents to develop, and it is hoped that they have the wisdom,
means, motivation, and time to do it. You will find that talent is left to
fall through the cracks like that here at a surprising rate. Its part of the
individualistic nature of the culture.

As an example, look at gifted education in the public schools. The public
schools are obsessed with trying to label as many minority kids as
possible as "gifted" to hide the fact that they can't compete with gifted
white kids. Then they water down the curricula. The also throw tons of
money at learning disabled kids who are predominantly minority, in the
hopes of leveling the race gap. Pure socialism. Its disgusting.

Also, here in America, boxing is looked down on in many white areas. If
the kids play sports, its usually not boxing. As an example, when I was a
kid, I only knew one white kid in my class who boxed. His dad was a
bodyguard for the governor of the state. There was only one black kid in
my whole school, but his dad got him into boxing, which he gave up after
a couple of years. In poor areas of America, mostly minority, is where
boxing is a legit form of sport, a way maybe to get out of the slum and
get ahead. Big class divide.Edited by: PitBull

Boxing as a sporting option for white people is practically non-existent in America. Nearly every boxing gym is located in the inner-city and has long since been invaded by blacks and hispanics often with the support of government youth programs. White people aren't about to waltz into an all-black gym anymore than they are about to take a pleasant Sunday stroll in the ghetto.

Eastern Europeans/Russians dominate boxing because they are the only people of the white race that still has realistic access to boxing gyms. Their superior upper body strength allows them to dominated other races in the ring particularily in the weight classes where power-punching is most important.

Don't forget Western Europe, Britain has Calzaghe and Hatton, plus some good boxers from Denmark and Germany.
